"My Prin- I mean Alex, Prince Charlotte has arrived."
"I know Frank. And stop calling me that. Also, don't call her. You know that we are pretending to be someone else right now."
Charlotte. Instead of taking the route of being secretive, you decided to be the Shining Star right from the get-go. As expected from my sister.
-One Month Ago-
"Father, may I request something?"
"What is it, Alex?"
"I know that it is part of our tradition that whenever we go undercover, we usually take the route of a Half-Blood since that is what our ancestors used to do as well, but may I ask a different path?"
"Hmmm… Are you saying that you want to introduce yourself as a noble and become a Pure Blood?"
"No Father, I would like to become a Bloodless Student."
Everyone was stunned by my announcement. Even Charlotte who rarely reacts to me showed some expression.
"*Clears Throat* I know that you are confident with your abilities, my prince, but living as a commoner would be-!"
"Be quiet, Vincent. Let us hear him out first."
"My Apologies, Your Highness. I am also very sorry for being rude, my prince."
I quickly replied as soon as Sir Vincent apologized.
"You might be thinking that I am being arrogant, but I do believe that if want to become the King of this wonderful nation, I need to learn more about our people. Especially those that started from the bottom. I won't be able to learn if I continue to mingle with those that came from wonderful backgrounds. If I want to learn, I need to be with them and become them."
My father took a while to reply which made me nervous.
"I see that your intention is good, but do you think that you can live as a commoner? You have lived your whole life in this palace. Will you be able to handle the sudden change of lifestyle?"
That question made me smile.
"Father, we will never know the answer to that unless I try. I know that I will live a very hectic life when after I graduate from the Academy and when I turn 20. Why not just live my life at the maximum before I fully commit to my duties?"
"HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!! Splendid! Looks like you are fully determined to your decision. Fine! I will allow you!"
"Thank you very much, Father. I promise that I won't disappoint you."
After I expressed my gratitude, my father immediately turned his attention toward Charlotte.
"What about you Charlotte? Will you be also going with the same path as your brother?"
"No, father. I would like to enter the Academy as a Pure Blood."
Pure Blood? I did not expect her to go that route.
"I see. As you already know, you need to enter as a student from a noble family to enter as a pureblood. Do you have your own plan on how to do that?"
"Yes, Father. If you will allow me, I would like to enter as the granddaughter of Sir Vincent. That way, people, would not easily question me and I believe I can keep my identity low."
Entering as a Cahill is a brilliant choice. Looks like Charlotte already planned this.
"I see. If Alex is allowed then it is only fair to allow you as well. Now both of you may go. The next time I will meet both of you, you will be students, not my children. May the both of you be guided!"
"Yes, Your Highness!"
Right after that, the two of us exited the Throne Room.
"Hey, Charlotte. Looks like you have a very interesting plan. WH-?!"
I was very surprised when she aggressively interrupted me.
"I know that you believe that you are the best but why do you always need to show off?!"
"Wh-what?! Show off?! When did I do that?! Wait, do you think that I am showing off just because I am doing things differently?!"
She did not reply. Instead, she continued on staring at me ferociously.
I am very flabbergasted right now. She hates me, but she never acted this way before.
"I know that you hate me, Charlotte, but why is that so? Am I really that bad in your eyes? Do you always think that everything that I have worked in my entire life is me showing off? Is that how little you think of me?"
"Ever since we were born, you know that is going to be hard for us to get along."
Alright. I am tired of being nice to her. Looks like I need to change as well.
"Fine, since you believe that my intentions were not real, let's make those simple thoughts yours a reality. I will show it off to you at the Academy. I will show you that a Bloodless Commoner can beat the Granddaughter of the King's Personal Aide because that is what you want."
-END OF FLASHBACK-
"Why did you even say that to her? I have known you since were children and you never acted that way to the princess ever."
"I know right? I was really childish and I regret doing that."
Although it was not intentional, that does not mean my emotions towards her were fake. I am now at the point where I cannot just take things lightly on Charlotte. If she thinks that badly of me, I just need to show her myself and my capabilities. That way she won't question me ever again.
Charlotte took a seat right in front of the stage. Together with her is her personal aide, Marie Livers, who is acting as her cousin.
The loud talking faded as soon as she took her seat.
"Princes- I mean Lady Charlotte ranked 1st in our class, Alex. Why is she blatantly showing her abilities when the two of you are supposed to be undercover?"
"Who knows? I do think she has a plan of her own."
I just need to focus on myself here. I know that I told my father that I will be here to live my life to the max before I become King but I am also here to do scouting and analysis. In order to gain power as I rise through the ranks, I need the best personnel I could get. There is no better place to get prospects other than this Academy.
Once again, the noises began.
"Who is that huge guy with a sword?"
"Oh, he must be the son of General Louis!"
