Without waiting for Linx's reply Dana leapt from the bed, angrily running down the hall to go find Desiree.
"Senior Desiree....! Senior Desiree! Who changed my clo.... thes..." Dana pursed when she noticed a pretty petite woman with short red hair smiling at her with a cup of coffee in her hand.
"It was I" the lady replied with a smile which made her look younger. Dana's mind ran wild trying to figure out who she was to Linx, was she his girlfriend? Definitely not she didn't quite look her age but Dana knew she and Linx were years apart she could probably be in her early 50s.
"Here comes Linx" a voice announced and for the first time Dana noticed the bald man sitting beside the lady that had smiled at her, instinctively Dana turned to face Linx who was breathing like he had just run a mile.
"Come over here my dear, come sit beside me." The lady said gesturing at Dana.
"Me??" Dana asked uncertain if she was the one been spoken to.
"Yes of course my dear, come over here. " The lady said with another smile, her eyes twinkling as she pointed at the space beside her. Slowly Dana walked over, carefully lowering herself to the seat.
"I've heard so much about you Zheng Dana, you look so beautiful it doesn't fit the monster description my fire Beetle here gave me" The lady said eyeing Linx who looked like he was going to explode.
"Fire Beetle?" Dana blurted out confused before she could stop herself.
"Oh my goodness Linx didn't tell you that's his pet name?" The lady replied chuckling hard as Linx looked like he was about to cry.
"Aunt..." Linx called out pulling a sad puppy dog face which flashed with embarrassment when he locked eyes with Dana.
"Suits him well...." Dana muttered to herself.
"Aihaa Ahnjong you didn't even introduce yourself, the poor girl looks perplexed." The bald man spoke looking pitifully at Dana who looked confused.
"Haiiyaa I totally forgot, but we don't need to be that formal. I'm Park Ahnjong, and this is my lovely husband Park Min ho. You just call me Aunt and him uncle."
Ma'm Ahnjong said as she cupped Dana's face into her hand.
Dana's eyes blinked rapidly as she tried to process the whole scene. When she had first walked into the room and Aunt Ahnjong said she was the one that had changed her she had thought he was Linx's mom as they share quite the resemblance apart from their height differences, aunt Ahnjong had short red hair which was most likely artificially coloured, dark eyes pretty fair skin and a curvy petite body generally she was really beautiful and definitely wealthy but the way she was speaking with her right now felt weird as Dana always thought all rich people were arrogant and looked for the slightest chance to throw money in your face. Over the course of the events that happened years ago Dana had taken a mental note to stay far away from rich people and especially their families, you could deal with one of them but certainly don't get entangled in a family mess, that was untill San Yui showed up in her life and she thought maybe she could give life another chance but just like her opinion about rich people he turned out to be a scum, although Linx was better, for now she was still high on alert and now this woman's smiling all happily at her... A mother's warm smile like she was actually loved. Her heart tugged on the walls of tears to fall as she wondered what it would feel like to wake up everyday to a smile like this from a mother figure, one she almost barely had all her life.
"Ma....sorry aunty" Dana said softly trying not to cry.
"She's so beautiful, and tall ..." Aunt Ahnjong said smiling brightly at Linx and then her husband who was also smiling warmly as he watched his wife's face beam with smiles.
"How'd you get lucky with her infact I don't see the monster like creature you described her as."
Aunt Ahnjong smirking at Linx who's face had all the combination of emotions ranging from embarrassment, shyness and suppressed smiles as he stood with his hands tugged inside the pockets of his joggers.
Dana lips curved as she was about to say something about Linx been lucky with her and he dared call her a monster ? She was about to refute her assumptions but as she raised her hand and opened her lips she was cut short by aunt Ahnjong's words.
"I know he can be a handful but trust me he isn't that bad, just look at him blush at my words" Aunt Ahnjong said referring to Linx who quickly turned his face expressionless. "You both look really good together, I can just feel the chemistry between you too" Aunty Ahnjong said causing Dana to choke on her saliva and started coughing, immediately Linx ran to her side giving her the cup of water that was on the table whilst patting her back.
"You're making them very shy Honey, you should stop teasing them you've made the poor girl turn red" Uncle Min said tugging on Aunt Ahnjong's flowery red dress which she had matched with a pair of white pants.
"Oh dear let me, they both look so cute together." Aunt Ahnjong replied as she watched Linx Pat Dana's back.
"I'm ok." Dana said trying to ward Linx off but deep down she was grateful for his help although it had fueled Aunt Ahnjong's words.
As Linx walked over to seat in a sofa which was beside Uncle Min's own a phone rang, aunt Ahnjong answered it and in no time she announced their leave after the call.
"I'm afraid we have to go now, we came to see this little beetle who despite been in town refused to come and see his Aunt and uncle" her face turned into a slightly sad as she pulled Linx's ears.
"Oe I'm sorry aunty... Please... plea..se please.. leave my handsome ear, my face is very important you know exactly you want your favorite nephew's fans not to loose his handsome features" Linx cried out. His words making everyone to chuckle except him who's lips were curved in a sad pout.
"We didn't get to spend time with both of you but we'll surely come for the Charity event as we're special guests but mostly because my favorite nephew is performing." Aunt Ahnjong said wearing a small smile as she arranged Linx's hair back in place.
"I should make a video of you saying I'm your favorite nephew so I can show it to brother Minde." Linx replied smiling sheepishly. For a moment Dana was confused if this was the Feng Lixin she knew who only smiled not more than once a day the most was twice the rest of the other times was either if he was smirking evilly or giving a smile intended rather to mock it's receiver and most times she was on the receiving ends but here he smiling like a little kid who received gifts on Christmas morning.
"Look at this, I'm getting jealous now" uncle Min said feigning anger. One could tell he was a very strict person but he was been so free with them, Dana's heart broke on realization that this was actually what having a family felt like but she would never know would he.
"aiya you're 70 honey but you're acting like we're still in college, let's get going I'll make it put to you" Aunt Ahnjong replied winking at Uncle Min as she rose to her feet and he followed suit.
"Ish you both are so shameless" Linx said chuckling.
"We ain't much different from you two" Aunt Ahnjong replied her words caused Linx to chock.
Dana and Linx walked Aunt Ahnjong and uncle Min to their car which was waiting outside, all the while she held Dana's arm telling her about how they had dropped by late last night and how she had helped her change into new clothes, she then asked if Dana was a native of the country or if she grew up here hearing how fluently she spoke the language, Dana tensed up but thankfully the loud laugh from Linx and uncle Min had attracted Aunt Ahnjong's attention and distracted her from the question as she picked up yet another uncomfortable topic but it was better than having to try to figure out her reply.
"He might not sure it but he cares about you. It's been years since I saw him this carefree in front of someone who wasn't family and a girl at that, stay by his side as more than just his PA, he needs a true friend and even something more than that be there for him." Aunt Ahnjong said softly so only Dana could hear her as uncle Min and Linx were walking behind them.
Dana was lost of words she had wanted to tell Aunt Ahnjong that she and Linx weren't together but on hearing her words she seemed to already know that but about Linx caring about her? That was certainly impossible, Aunt Ahnjong might have misinterpreted Linx's actions as far as she was concerned he only acted like he was concerned because he didn't want her to get sick or something and slack from her job.
"But if he dares bully you, you should tell me straight up so we can deal with him." Aunt Ahnjong said loudly enough for everyone to hear eyeing Linx who looked confused at her words.
Aunt Ahnjong and Uncle Min then parted with them as they got into their ride promising to come for the Charity event.
"Ish you can't bully ghosts" Linx muttered as the car rode off. Squinting at the sun which was high up in the sky as though it never rained like the clouds would fall last night Dana turned her eyes to meet Linx's before blurting out "who are you calling a ghost?"
