As the figure made it's way through the crowd Dana couldn't help wishing she was just having a terrible night mare because why on Earth was Haneul here?!!!! Of all fucking places he had to show up at this party and now he was headed in she and Linx's direction.
His soft pink lips curved into a smile as he stopped in front of Linx and Dana, for the first time in years she saw him smile genuinely as he offered Linx a handshake which Linx took reluctantly when Desiree gave him a pleading look.
"I'm glad you were able to make it." Haneul said but now his facial expression had changed completely into a more serious look.
"Um." Linx replied curtly.
Dana was left to tremble at every word Haneul said thinking he was going to expose her but he did quite the opposite as he completely ignored.
"And who's this beautiful lady beside you?" Haneul asked just when Dana thought she could finally breath a little.
"My date." Linx replied with a small inpatient smile.
"I see you're alone." Linx asked rhetorically.
"Oh no, I'm here with someone special she's just running a bit late Haneul replied whilst glancing over his gold wrist watch which looked like it probably cost her entire salary in three years.
"Ah. Here she is." Haneul announced calmly as his gaze shifted to the entrance of the hall causing Linx and Dana to turn around to see who it was.
When Dana's eyes met the approaching figure who walked as elegantly as a cat in high heels she cursed her entire existence it was as though her entire world was collapsing. She felt every ounce of pain, bitterness, regret and probably jealousy as she saw how engrossed Haneul looked as he watched the lady make her way to his side.
That smug arrogant look, Dana could never miss it in a crowd of a thousand women, this was the girl she grew up with and called sister all of her life although she never treated Dana as one the same person that had put her in so much pain and had told the police of her whereabouts about 7years back she felt too betrayed as she watched Seo-Jun wrap her hand around Haneul's.
"Hello. I'm Seo-Jun." Seo-Jun introduced herself to Dana and Linx as she kept her hand out for a handshake. That same old sly smile was still pestered on her face but she looked less vicious and older than she had been years ago.
Things got a little tensed up as neither Linx nor Dana had taken Seo-Jun's hand, like a magnet Dana took her hand and smiled softly ignoring her tears stung eyes.
"Pleased to meet you. I am Zheng Danielle but you could just call me Zheng Dana and am pretty sure you know who's by my side as his reputation preceeds him." Dana said with a smile as she pressed on to Seo-Jun's hand a little too tightly it made Seo-Jun frown a little.
"What a great grip you've got there." Seo-Jun said referring to the handshake as she noticed how red her hand hand turned as a result of Dana's shake.
"It's just something that's always been with me, I never let my grip off things so easily." Dana said smirking. A moment ago she had felt totally shaken but why should she feel bad for people that meant absolutely nothing to her? She wasn't Cailong anymore she was Dana, Zheng Dana and Zheng Dana knew neither Haneul or Seo-Jun.
"Um interesting. So Danielle huh? Foreign name. You're foreign?"
Seo-Jun asked further to deepen the conversation with this girl she had taken a liking to and she seemed pretty close to Feng Lixin who had totally ignored her existence since she walked in but she knew all too well that the Fengs where all pride, looks, money and brains they never rolled with anyone as people always tried to suck up to them and Feng Linix AKA Linx the arrogance flag bearer of the family with words like daggers whenever he spoke although Seo-Jun couldn't stand the embarrassment she decided it wouldn't harm to get on Dana's good books cause how was she able to come with Linx as his date? Everyone knew he only moved with his family members and his manager Desiree.
"Foreign? Probably I mean I don't look Asian do I?" Dana replied with a faked chuckle.
"Probably? Well you sort of look foreign to me. " Seo-Jun responded eagerly waiting for more information on this lady who looked so pretty she couldn't help but feel jealous as everyone stared at her as they made their way through the crowd which was new as wherever she went she had always been the center of attention but now Dana was stealing her shine, she even had to look up whenever she spoke to her.
"Wine?" Dana interrupted her.
"Yeah." Seo-Jun replied wrapping her fingers adorned with long artificial nails around the wine glass.
"I might be but then what does an orphan know about her origin." Dana replied with a thin smile.
"Oh sorry about that." Seo-Jun said covering her purple painted lips.
"I too am an orphan you know, but not like my mom ever cared of me you see a mother hen loves and protects it's chicks but my mom preferred to shower all her affection of a mere slave." Seo-Jun said as she looked lost in thought with a annoyance spreading through her face.
Dana clenched her fists on hearing the word "Slave". Over the years she had locked up her past but hearing that familiar term which Seo-Jun often used when they were younger made her feel like splashing wine on her face and dragging that perfectly Bob cut straw berry blonde hair from her head.
"Life." Was all she forced herself to say.
"You look so much like someone I used to know but she was too pure too innocent too sly to carry such elegance that you do." Seo-Jun said with a smirk.
"Well thanks for the compliment and this girl you talk about you never know people change." Dana replied with a small smile.
"If only she was alive, then maybe." Seo-Jun said plainly.
"Dana. " Linx who had walked off with Haneul minutes ago to meet the organizers leaving Dana with Seo-Jun called out.
"Excuse me I have to get going Dana said with a small smile as she moved away from Seo-Jun who couldn't help but feel threatened by Dana's presence.
