Chereads / CEO'S MAFIA PRINCESS / Chapter 17 - A Date

Chapter 17 - A Date

The next day as Dana's eyes opened to the reality of life her brain was hit with a series of foggy memories. Memories of a girl playing in a big garden filled with beautiful flowers, from afar two people watched her apart from the men who stood at strategic areas like body guard. occasionally the two people who looked like they were a couple would raise their heads to smile at the girl who was now chasing after butterflies.

Weird.... Dana thought to herself as she tried to fill her mind with something else. Once upon a time she had been curious about her past, but no more. All she wanted was a simple and easy life and this sudden memories which she couldn't remember for years suddenly coming back wasn't doing her any good, they were even blurry and stopped her from seeing major things like the faces of the couple and the girl.

As she walked down the stairs she wondered if someone actually entered her room yesterday or was it just another dream? Tch this memory thing was starting to play with her perception of reality. Trailing the mouth watering aroma of pancakes Dana found her way to the kitchen. As she walked in she met the chef from last time which wasn't a surprise cause she knew well enough that Linx was a terrible cook and since the kitchen wasn't already on fire it meant someone else was in there.

"Hi, good morning" she said with a smile, he had looked startled to see her but quickly composed himself and returned her greeting with a small smile from which she could tell he wasn't much of a "smiler.

"Good morning miss, how was your night" Minde asked more to affirm if she didn't remember anything about last time and him been in her room.

"It was pretty okay. Yours?"

Dana asked, her arms behind her back.

"It was fine...." Minde replied. He couldn't tell her she had interrupted his work now could he, or how he had held her in his arms. He had felt super awkward when she walked in but seeing as she didn't seem to remember or maybe she just didn't want to talk about it, it made things easier for him.

"Where's senior Linx?" She inquired as she walked up to him making him wonder to himself if she always looked that good after waking up, even after she cried so much last night. Pushing the thoughts far from his brain as he tried to concentrate, it would be a diaster if he unknowingly blurted something stupid out.

Common on, he was the CEO of Feng group of companies, and the heir to his father's business which he refused to take up. If there was any body Minde hated it was his father Li Qianfan.

Li Qianfan had severely abused Minde and his mother untill she finally sort for divorce and remarried into the Feng family, a year later Linx was born and unlike his father his step father had actually been good to him, and treated him and Linx equally. After he was elected CEO following Linx's obvious disinterest in the family's business he had taken it to great height, his childhood had moulded him into an alter perfectionist, he carried around this level of pride and supremacy, didn't smile at anyone or let anyone touch him, never kept friends and he would have never thought he would let his guard down around Dana, or even smile at her when she wasn't offering a business deal he needed to close with a feigned smile, he actually smiled at her genuinely which felt both good and Scarry at the same time.

"Mr Linx.. went out for his morning jogging" oh damn calling that little mice Mr Linx would get him spilling the truth very soon if he didn't take care.

"He jogs? I pray he looses his grumpiness along aside some weight" said said, more to herself which got Minde laughing hard, if she thought Linx was grumpy what would she say about him if she met him in his office? Thankfully he could just act normally around her.

"You're funny" Minde replied admist chuckles.

"I'm been serious he really needs it. By the way I didn't get your name last time, it would be weird calling you Mr chef you know" she said with a cute smile.

"Um... My name's.... Bingwen... Minde replied. He nearly got caught, lying wasn't really his thing, i mean casual lies which weren't for the purpose of business.

"Well Bingwen I'm Zheng Dana" she said stretching forth her hands in a handshake, which Minde took. His hand enveloped her tender hand as he gave her a light shake.

"Pleased to officially meet you miss Dana" ok.... He was falling out of character and bringing in his CEO vibes but seeing that she didn't think much about it and just smiled relieved him.

"Can I help you with anything?" Dana inquired. Staying idle when she watched some else working made her feel weird so she offered her help. Finally she got his name Bi...ng..wen.. she recited over three times in her head as if trying not to forget it, he seemed nice and she felt somewhat comfortable with him, she couldn't really place it but something about him seemed really familiar like she's known him before, the more she thought about it the more she felt somehow scared. She didn't need such thoughts right now so she pushed it aside.

"No, you do not. I'm already done with it, but you can help me set up the table" .

While setting the table the talked about various things, from the weather to how she got soaked yesterday and had to spend the night in her grumpy boss's house, Linx. To her best friend and how her job was going. Both of their conversations stirred clear of their personal lives, although Minde had told her about his mum, but didn't mention who exactly she was but seeing that Dana didn't say anything about her family or highschool life or where she came from he shut out his curiosity from asking her any questions, she was probably an orphan he thought so he didn't push further. Noting that Linx would soon be back he quicken his pace at cleaning the kitchen when he finished the next thing he said left him mentally hitting head in embarrassment.

"Would you like to go out with me later....." Oh shitttt! "..." He wasn't one to curse but oh shitttt! He just said that...

"I mean I could walk you home after work, not like to your home, but like to your street....my shift ends by 4" what was he even saying good heavens he was stuttering! No... This was all too strange but he really wanted her to agree. Usually it was girls asking for her date and he always turned them down, now he almost truly knew how it felt.

Was he asking her on a date? She wasn't ready to date yet but relationships can just be platonic right...and he seemed really nice and she enjoyed his company. So why not have someone walk her home after her day's work with that grumpy annoying ghost ?

"You can... I'll send you the location"

"Bingwen you do have a phone right? Let me give you my number" she said calmly although her heart was beating fast and she didn't quite understand why. Swiftly Minde took out a small note and handed it to Dana.

"Here you can write it there I'll give you a call by....?

"By 5pm she chipped in."

" You should write out your number too so I'll know when you call me or so I can send the location when I can" she further said.

Minde was in a tight spot, she had called him mistakenly before when Linx had sent his number to her thinking it was Desiree's and he had revealed his identity to her then so giving her the same number was out of the question. Without much ado he gave her one of the two numbers he had cared to cramp, his secretary's number.

Alright then I'll see you by 5..

Minde said with a huge grin which he wasn't doing well enough to hide, she said yes! He didn't remember the last time he was as excited as this, the only time he was ever excited was when he closed a big deal.  He quickly left the house in casual clothes telling Dana he had to catch the bus.

When his driver saw him, he nearly choked on his Coffee, CEO Minde was dressed in casual clothes?! Even though they looked expensive that was the first time he was seeing him in anything order than suits and golf wears. What made he actually choke was the smile on the CEO's face, he had never seen him crack so much as a fake smile all he did most times was give an evil smile, so what happened today?  The driver thought to himself silently as he drove off.

Going back up to dress up in a tux would totally blow up his cover. Which chef dresses up in a million Yaun designer suit? To avoid the whole mixup he would get a new suit from his company's fashion house on his way to work.
