Chapter 29 - <Nimble Feet>

Ranz's body glowed briefly at that moment. Then, suddenly, his movement became agile.

He dodged the attack from behind him and even evaded the approaching enemies in front.

Seeing it from afar, Vince lost the ability to speak. He was just standing there with a 'couldn't believe expression' on his face. "Another original skill?" He mumbled.

'This time he used the second basic skill of the Archer Class! The skill is known as . It gives the user a boost in speed for a certain duration of time. How did he get those skills?'

After escaping that dangerous situation, Ranz pulled out the Epic-tier jet-black sword.

It was a one-handed sword and not a greatsword, so a Swordsman Class appeared on his status. A new list of skills appeared on skill slots as well.

After that, according to the witnesses, the battle was not even a battle. It was just a one-sided slaughter.

All the witnesses felt like they saw an unbelievable scene.

From that day, the names Black Knight and Jack No Ripper shook the entire Human Faction and even the Black Day server.

From Lightwood Village, two silhouettes were flying to the north. They were the duo Dawn Silver and Lonewolf, riding their Bettlefly flying mounts.

"By the way, Dawn, why do you think the first task is as nasty as killing 5 Young Goblins? It's a very simple task. Did the Red Phantom officials underestimate our strengths?" Lonewolf asked with a frown.

"I dunno. But I think it wasn't about underestimating us. I think it was to provoke the whole pack of goblins."

"What? To provoke the goblins?" He repeated his companion's words.

"Heh! What do you think our action will lead to?" Dawn Silver asked with a condescending look.

"Hmm…" Lonewolf fell silent and pondered. Then he pumped his fist against his palm. "Oh. Y-you're right."

Dawn Silver snorted.

"….."

"But why would they want to provoke those goblins?"

"Isn't it as plain as day? Of course, it's to entice them into attacking the nearby village," Dawn Silver replied while showing an expression that wanted to say, "good grief."

"A-attack the village? You mean the Lightwood Village, right?!" Lonewolf exclaimed.

"What else? Didn't you notice the ominous aura radiating from that place at this very moment?" Dawn Silver beckoned behind them, in the direction of the Lightwood Village.

Lonewolf opened his mouth again when he realized something. "Oh, you're right," he said with a grin." Then, he called out to his partner once again. "Hey, Dawn, let's go back! I wanted to see it." His face pertaining that he was curious.

Dawn Silver sighed. "Dumbass. We have no time for that. We have to hurry to complete the next task. Our main priority is to be accepted in that guild. To do that, we need an impressive result. What I mean by impressive is… the sooner we complete all the tasks the better."

"W-Well… let's just peek a little…"

"Shut Up! We don't have much time for that. Regardless, sooner or later that village will get destroyed, so don't waste your time with that."

"I just wanted to see the panicked faces of those newbies in the village. It would be the most hilarious scene that I wanted to record."

"Hmpf!" Dawn Silver snorted and brushed away Lonewolf's idea.

"….."

Lonewolf shrugged his shoulders. It seems like no matter what he said, he could not persuade his partner.

There was a moment of silence between the two before he opened his mouth again.

"Regardless, I still can't understand why they wanted to destroy the village…" he suddenly said.

"It seems like one of the members was killed in that village this morning, so this must be their way of revenge."

"What? Really? Who's an idiot who did that?"

"That… I don't know. But I know that they won't live a happy life on this server after angering one of the guild's members. Hehehe," said Dawn Silver with a gleam in his eyes.

Around the time that Lonewolf and Dawn Silver were heading north. From the east, two silhouettes however were heading towards the Lightwood Village in a hurry.

They were the members of the Rolling Judgement guild, Lala and Melly.

"I knew it! After seeing those fiends in the village this morning, I had a feeling something bad would be going to happen!" Lala said furiously.

"Right! You shouldn't have stopped me arguing with those people this morning, Lala," Melly, who was riding her Birdino beastmount the same as Lala, replied to her with a frown.

Birdino was a beast with the body of a dino and the head of a bird.

"Arguing won't give a better outcome. It only leads us to a more troublesome issue later on. Regardless, we need to hurry back as fast as we can before it's too late!"

"How about backups?" Melly glanced at her friend.

"We have no time for that," Lala replied with her face still focused ahead.

"But according to the informant, there were over one hundred goblins and some other Hobgoblins!" Melly said.

Lala raised her brows. That was truly a difficult situation even for the two of them.

"With that number of mobs, there is a tendency that a mini-boss tier monster will show up, right Lala?" Said Melly.

"Yes, you're right. But even if we asked for backups right now, it's already too late before the backups arrive. Don't worry, Melly. We don't need to fight if the situation is impossible for us. Let's just evacuate everyone from that village and escort them to the nearest town."

"Oh~"

Although most of the players in that village were just novice players, it would be beneficial to the guild later on.

Sometime later, the two arrived at the Lightwood Village.

However, the two looked puzzled when they entered the village.

The looming storm in the sky just a minute ago had already disappeared. The sky was now a beautiful sky with stars twinkling like jewels. There was also no sign of chaos everywhere. The surroundings even seemed so peaceful.

"Eh? Lala, do you feel that there seems to be something odd?" Melly asked her friend.

Lala raised her brows. "Mhm!" she nodded and said, "This wasn't what I'd expected. It seemed like the village was so peaceful."

"Exactly what I thought."

"Let's go to the northern part. Maybe the battle was there."

"Okay."

To arrive at the northern area, they needed to pass at the village center first. The two were even more shocked when they reached the center.

They saw some players lively conversing around a bonfire.

"What's the meaning with this?!" Melly mumbled.
