Chereads / A Game of Gods / Chapter 8 - Problem In The Divine Plane

Chapter 8 - Problem In The Divine Plane

"Hey, Quies! Do you know why Yeshua decided to hold this meeting?"

A man with white hair, two goat-like horns, one of his horns broken, and glowing purple eyes asked.

This person is none other than the Demon god, Danniel.

"No clue. It's been a while since we held a meeting. Especially during the tournament."

A young-looking woman with purple hair and brown eyes said.

This is the Dreamer god, Quies.

They walked until they reached a large white hall. In the middle of the hall was a hexagon-shaped table.

Danniel sat down, and then Quies sat on the opposite chair, facing his.

They were both waiting for the meeting to start.

They waited a few minutes, then another person appeared.

It was a man with light brown hair and orange eyes.

It was the Criminal god, Jonathan.

He has been nicknamed the criminal god because he used to commit a lot of major crimes and because he usually doesn't punish criminals in his realm.

"Ahoy."

He greeted the two other gods present in the room, but all he heard in return was a "yo" from both of them simultaneously.

"Honestly, if you had told me the both of you are siblings by blood, I would believe you."

Jonathan said in disappointment at the cold response of the two people already at the table.

He sat by Quies's left. And as he sat, she reacted to his words.

"Ew, who wants to be related to this creep? I'd rather die."

"It's been over a thousand years, and you still say that?"

Danniel said in return since he felt slightly insulted.

"I am a gifted. In the old reality, this would grant me the right to an eternity of saying that. But in this reality, I need to be a goddess to do that. Oh wait, I am a goddess."

Quies said with an annoyed tone.

"Whatever, sis."

Danniel giggled, and Quies was this close to trying to kill him.

"Let's come down now. No need for infighting."

Another god who just walked into the room said.

It was a man with black hair, blue eyes, and two unbroken horns.

His nickname is the True god, William.

Because he holds the gift of god's divinity.

"William! Long time no see. How is your relationship with Jeanie progressing?"

Danniel said, happy to see someone who holds respect toward him.

"Master Danniel, good to see you. My relationship with Jeanie is going great. We are finally getting married. You and Emma will get an invitation when we choose where to hold the wedding."

William said excitedly.

"Good, I wish I was there to see your proposal. With how I know you. It must have been the perfect proposal."

Danniel said, and William laughed awkwardly at the acknowledgment of his perfectionism.

Initially, William wasn't supposed to be one of the six main gods, but since there was a lack of people who control divinity, they had to choose him.

For them to make him a god, they had to infuse him with a second gift, they let him choose which one he wanted, and he chose the gift of god's body. With this gift, he has both the body of a god and the ability to control divinity.

He sat down to Danniel's right and Jonathan's left.

Finally, the last two of the main six gods entered the hall.

One of them is Antony, a child of one of the gods who died during the First Multi-Realm War.

He has been nicknamed the Weather god because he is the son of Taapamaan, the original god of weather. And he plays with the weather a lot.

He has blue hair, no one knows his eye color since his eyes are constantly shut, and he has an earring in each ear.

He sat down to Danniel's left.

After him, a man with dark ginger hair, a beard, and green eyes sat down to Antony's left and Quies's right.

This was the Human god, Yeshua.

"I'll cut to the chase. One of you broke the rules."

Yeshua said with an angry tone.

"What makes you think that?"

Danniel asked nervously.

Could it be they found out about his communications with Shu this early?

"There are mortals with divine gifts."

Yeshua said.

"We all know about Danniel's champion. Danniel got permission to groom a guy without potential and give him one divine gift, the gift of God's Prophesy, to help him do that."

Antony said.

"I'm not talking about him. There are others. Someone broke the rules and released all the divine gifts."

Yeshua explained what this was all about.

"Let's go with it. Because of the rules we set in place, mortals can survive only until age three hundred, so we will keep the tournament going and collect the divine gifts from those who die."

Danniel suggested.

"I would agree with you, but I still remember how dangerous divine gifts can be."

Yeshua replied to Danniel's idea.

"What about this? We each send a lower god to collect divine gifts or protect their users."

Antony proposed.

"I support."

William said.

"But wouldn't it destroy the point of the tournament if gods start meddling?"

Jonathan asked.

"I sadly have to agree with Jonathan."

Quies said, and an expression of her deep disappointment in herself was visible.

"Then let's let the mortals finish a month and a half. We will use my idea If we don't have most of the divine gifts by then."

Antony said.

"I'm not sure about using your idea, but I support letting them finish at least a month and a half."

Danniel said, and everyone else agreed.

********

"A toast to celebrate the fact that we have almost reached the new lands and that we are nearing the most important part of our journey!"

Dam lifted a glass full of excellent champagne.

CHEERS!!!

Everyone drank a glass of whichever drink they wanted.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the party. Some were betting, others were dancing, and some were talking.

"Hey, Shu. Are you okay? You don't seem to be having fun."

Thomas asked him.

"I'm okay."

Shu said with a fake smile and took another sip from his drink.

'I can't exactly tell him that I'm seeing visions of things that will happen, can I?'

Shu thought to himself.

"Thank you for allowing us to participate in this party, sir."

Edward said.

"No need to thank me, I asked you to join the crew, and you joined. This party is for the crew. You are free to do whatever you want."

Shu said.

Shu didn't feel good, and he was stumbling on his way to his room.

Then, he ran into something soft, which made him take a step back, but because of his situation, he fell back and hit his head, and everything turned black.

"Are you okay?"

He could hear the voice of Emilia.

"Help me take him t..."

Another voice said, but he couldn't recognize who it was.

At this point, he stopped hearing things.

When he woke up, he saw Thomas and Emilia awake by the side of his bed and Hannah fast asleep with her head on the bed.

"What happened?"

He asked since his memory of what happened before was foggy.

"You passed out when you tried to get away from the party. Why did you lie? I asked you if you were okay!"

Thomas answered, and his expression was pissed.

"I see visions of the future. I don't know how or why, but it makes me feel drained."

Shu answered.

"Sigh, next time, say something."

Thomas said, and then he left the room.

"How long was I out?"

Shu asked Emilia.

"A week. It would've probably taken longer if it weren't for Hannah."

Emilia answered. And shot a look at the sleeping girl.

"So there's only one more week until the start. Good thing I didn't miss it. It would have been bad."

Shu said with a relieved tone.

"Are you a morone! Is all you can think about your next battle? What about your friends? Look at Hannah. She pushed herself this hard for you and..."

Emilia started scolding him and stopped when she thought she was going too far.

"Sorry, I have a debt to pay and never intended to hurt you all while paying it."

Shu said as he thought about how she was also pushing herself to help him and the freed slaves.

Thirty-five days since the start of the tournament.
