Chapter 18 - Where does money grows from?

I'm trying all that I have so as not to teach Ace and his brother a lesson.

Yeah! it isn't my fault for making his sister like me all of a sudden.

Besides, I'm sweet and cute so what's there for her not to like.

I angrily made my way out of the hospital, and I took a cab.

Besides, I'm lucky enough to have a few dollar note with me.

I went straight to Bellatrix school, and for the first time in forever, I arrived on time to pick her up.

"Sis! Why are you early today?" Bellatrix asked because the little one was surprised.

"I didn't go to work today, and I was around the area," I explained.

She smiles. "Well! That explains a lot." Bellatrix mumbled.

"Hey! don't I arrive early sometimes to pick you up?" I asked, with my brows slightly arched.

"If I am to be sincere, then I would gladly appreciate the fact that you use the word 'Sometimes' in your statement." Bellatrix declares.

Gush! The kid is just so intelligent that winning an argument with her is far from impossible.

"I'm sorry, but I'll try to always pick you up on time from now on." I wink while reassuring her.

"I hope you keep to your words," Bellatrix mumbles.

We both made our way outside the school building, and I decided that I and my sister should have some fun time together.

It has been a very long time since we both bonded together due to my previous job which requires me to invest my entire time on it.

While working at the restaurant, I rarely had any time of my own, not to mention that I also don't have time for my baby sister.

"How's class today?" I asked.

"Hmm! Your question is a bit weird, but class is fine. I didn't talk to anyone all through the day because my friend's are annoying." Bellatrix declares.

Yeah! It has been a while since I had asked her about class, so I understand why she had said it's weird.

"Why are your friends annoying?" I asked.

"I don't know sis. Everyone is annoying, and I am sorry but none of them are my friends. They keep making fun of me because I have no parents." She whispers in a very low voice.

I can tell that she's trying to act bravely not to cry, but the little one is damn hurt.

I was also hurt because I never knew that something like this is happening to Bellatrix. "I'll go and warn them not to speak to you like that again." I declare, turning around, to make my way back to her school.

The school isn't fancy, and most kids who attend the school are kids whose parents are just financially stable.

They aren't poor and neither are they rich, so I hate it, that kid still looks down on others.

Besides I had always been taught that schools, where students look down on each other, are prestigious schools.

"Don't do that. It is going to make things worse for me. Besides, I had ignored them all through the day, so I wasn't affected." Bellatrix said as she pleaded with me not to give her classmates a warning of their life.

"But you are to play with kids. That's what kids your age do." I mumble, trying to convince my sister that I can take good care of her, so she should allow me to tell those kids to stop making fun of her. Besides, she isn't the reason why my parents lost their lives.

"Then why don't we go to the playground?" She suggested.

I can tell that Bellatrix doesn't want to keep pondering about the incident that took place in school. "Playground? That sounds fun." I whisper while messing with her hair.

She chuckled, before handing over her school bag to me.

I took her school bag and we headed straight for the playground.

Bellatrix and I play in the playground for more than two good hours.

How I wish time would just freeze so that I can continue playing with my sister.

"The playground is about to be locked Miss." A security guard said as he made his way toward me.

I haven't taken notice of the fact that the playground is empty until his statement.

I and Bellatrix have been playing with each other, and everything around us seals to exit.

"Ohh! What time is it?" I asked.

"It's some minutes to seven." The security guard declares.

One thing about the park is that the light would make you forget that the day isn't running by.

"Bellatrix! We have to get going." I said while caressing her cheeks.

"Okay, mom," Bellatrix mumbled, as she got up from the floor because we both were building a castle made of sand.

She arranged her stuff, and in no time we were fully ready to leave. "Mrs. I'll advise that you shouldn't overstrain your kid. She is supposed to be sleeping, and here she is playing. You and your kid have been in the park for more than four hours now." The security guard said.

I appreciate that he's trying to advise me, but his advice isn't needed.

At first, he had called me 'Miss' but after hearing Bellatrix calling me Mom, the security guard started calling me 'Mrs.'

"Thanks but you shouldn't advise me on how to spend time with my kid. But I still appreciate your advice." I appreciated it, and with that I took a cab, giving the driver the address of Ace Mansion.

On getting to the mansion, Bellatrix fell asleep inside the car.

I carried her on my body, and entered the compound, only to see Ace and Abe.

"Where have you....."

"Shhhh!" I whisper, cutting Ace from completing his statement.

Abe quickly understood what I meant so he took Bellatrix from my hands, and carried her on her body.

Woah! I never knew he had that gentle side when it comes to kids.

"Where have you been?" Ace asked.

"I went out to spend some time with my kid," I replied sincerely.

"Do you know how worried I am? I have been searching for you everywhere, and also I pay you to always stay by my side, so if you want to...."

"I'm sorry for making you worried. And sorry for not taking permission." I whisper, cutting him off from his statement.

I don't have any more strength left in me to argue, so I have to quickly apologize to call it a day.

"Do you think that the money which I intend to pay you grows on trees? Can't you focus on your job for the time being?"

"I'll focus on my job boss. And on the contrary, money grows from trees, because it's paper." I replied, before walking out of him.
