"Why are you behaving like this?" Ace asked as he rolled his wheelchair, following me from behind.
"I don't know Ace. Perhaps it's because I'm tired of arguing with you." I declare.
"Alright, I'm sorry about what happened at the hospital." He utter.
I scuffed. "You can't say the word 'Sorry' whenever you please to," I said, which is the simple plain truth.
"You pissed me off, but I'll let you be." He declares.
"That would be nice of you Mister handsome!" I said while turning around to wink at him, and with that, I made my way straight to my sister's room.
I was about to open the door of the room, but the voice of an individual stopped me from doing that.
I don't need to see who's inside the room for me to be able to recognize the voice.
"Did you help in bathing her?" I asked Abe who's currently reading a bedtime story for Bellatrix.
"I didn't. I asked the maid who's currently available to prepare her for the night." Abe replied with a cold voice.
"That's nice of you." I declare while sounding appreciative.
"I'm only trying to help her, so don't thank me," Abe said with his usual disrespectful tone.
I rolled my eyes, and closed the distance between me and my sister. "Have a sweet dream okay!" I whisper, planting a kiss on her forehead.
"Yes Mom." Bellatrix whispers and I can tell that she's feeling sleepy again.
It seems that when they were helping her out to take her bath, she must have woken up at that time.
I place some strands of hair behind her ear, before pulling away from her.
"Good night princess," Abe whispered as he planted a kiss on her hair.
"Good night big brother." She whispered, and her eyes were closed.
'Big brother?' I asked myself.
I turn off the bedside lamp, and both I and Abe slowly step out of the room, so as not to wake her up.
"When did you suddenly like kids?" I interrogate, arching my brows slightly.
"Do I have to explain myself to you?" Abe replied to my question with a question.
"Sorry! Well! Thanks by the way." I uttered, and with that, I made my way towards my room.
I took a nice hot bath because I'm exhausted.
I climb the bed with determination, promising myself that I am going to search for a job tomorrow.
My body was already exhausted, so in no time I fell asleep.
Morning came by quickly, and just like usual I quickly dressed Bellatrix up, so that she would be able to go to school on time.
Just when I was about to stop a cap, I realized that I had spent my entire money at the playground last night.
I exhale.
I'm aware that Ace is going to vent his anger on me, but for now, it's best if I use his car.
His words are like air to my skin.
I pick up the car key which is currently lying down on the sitting room table.
"Don't allow anyone to bully you okay!" I said to Bellatrix, which was immediately after I got to her school premises.
"I'll try!" She declares as she tries not to make any promises.
"Promise to be a good girl alright," I added, and she nodded her head.
Since I am aware that I'm going to be scolded by Ace, I decided that it would be best if I do what is worth scolding for.
I drive the car towards a restaurant, with the intention of looking for a part-time job.
"What do you say you are here for?" The manager of the restaurant asked as he scanned my dress code from head to toe.
I'm still in my usual tomboy outfits, so I'm looking a little bit scary.
He shifted his gaze back to the car which is currently parked outside of the restaurant... and back to me again.
"Are you sure that you are looking for a paid job?" He asked.
"Do you offer jobs to people that don't require wages in return?" I sneered.
His question is ridiculous to my ear, and from the way he continues to stare at me, I am hundred and one percent sure that he doesn't want to offer me any job.
"I'm sorry Miss, but there's no job vacancy." The manager finally declares.
I shift my gaze to the poster which is being placed on the entrance door of the restaurant.
'Job vacancy.' It's written in the poster, so it means that he just doesn't want to accommodate me.
"Why is that poster still there?" I asked, arching my brows.
"We are looking for a waitress, but I don't see a waitress in you. You don't seem to have what it takes, and most of all you look like someone who's going to cause problems at my restaurant." He declares.
"First of all, this isn't your restaurant because from what I am aware of, you are just a manager." I utter. "Secondly I don't cause trouble unless someone picks up on me. And just a little fair note from me to you…" My voice trailed, as I swallowed my saliva, ready to utter my final statement to him.
"You might think that I'll later forget about the shit that you had just said, but they ain't no expired date for disrespect," I utter with a firm voice. "And never judge a book by its cover, which implies that you should never judge me by my appearance." I added, before turning around to walk away.
I was halfway close to the door when I suddenly turned around. "I'm going to tell the owner of this restaurant that you are bullying his beloved girlfriend." I sneered.
I don't know who owns the restaurant, but I decided that it would be fun to make the manager scared a little bit.
A shocked expression was plastered on the manager's face.
"You can't do that!" He said, sounding as if he was convincing himself about something.
"Watch and see. And I'm going to make sure that he fire's you." I threatened.
"There's no way my son can have a girlfriend like you. Besides, he can't fire his father from managing his business, and just so you know, I am aware that you ain't his girlfriend." The manager declares, making his way toward me, with an angry expression.
"You call me a liar?" I asked, arching my brows.
"My son is a priest."
The words of the manager sink into my ear.
Priest? Gush! I didn't see this coming.
"Peace be unto this restaurant." I quickly uttered, bowing my head in an angle nighty degree, before running away.
