The sword that was pointed at the king Patrick's throat was placed there by the King Alfred's most trusted subordinate who was the head of the knights.
"Stop this madness at once!. Guards! Guards!!" King Patrick yelled trying to summon his guards but to his surprise none of them answered or even responded to his call.
"Go ahead....Scream a little louder maybe someone would hear you."King Alfred taunted mockingly.
"Impossible! What have you done to the guards?" Prince Matthew asked in shock.
"Oh, they're all dead. That's all." King Alfred replied lightly.
"You're lying!!"
"What I'm saying is absolutely nothing but the truth. It's up to you whether you believe it or not . I killed all your servants and replaced them with my own."
FLASHBACK; The night before;
Immediately Warren left, the head of the knights was summoned by King Alfred. The head of the knights knocked the door and entered the room and saw the king lounging on the bed.
The head of the knights walked to the bed and knelt down at the foot of the bed, head bowed.
"Your majesty, you called?"
"Yes , I did". The king gazed at the head of the knights. "You may raise your head Elenor".
"Yes my Lord" She said and raised her head.
"Take off your mask "
Elenor reached up and removed the hood of her cloak. Next, her hands touched the surface of the black mask which she put on and she lifted the mask up and took it off.
Her long blonde hair dropped down almost covering her whole face.
The king stretched out his hand and used his fingers to brush the hair away from her face "Look at me" he commanded and she obeyed looking into his eyes.
"Beautiful" he whispered softly.
