Like a vase that fell and fell apart before being glued back together. It will never be the same again, and it will always be a fragile vase.
Gretta was in the same boat; she couldn't enjoy her day any longer. No longer do I appreciate the morning or evening because everything looks the same. One thing she felt in her downfall was that she couldn't stay in that place any longer.
And the only option she had right now was to track down Mat and make the furry wolf pay for what she had done.
Gretta will go to any length to exact her vengeance, even if it means taking Mat's life.
Leon, the man who can help Gretta with Mat, is one name that comes to mind.
The sun hasn't fully risen yet, so the dew is still eager to wet the ground.
Gretta brushed her fingers across the bushes in front of her. Walk through the forest without stopping. She couldn't recall the path she took that night, but she was certain she was on the right track.
The tree branch Gretta had just pushed aside returned in the opposite direction and hit her in the cheek as she was about to take a step forward. She groaned to touch his cheek, and the tai twig stroked the white skin for a long time.
"Where have I been?" Gretta sat and looked around. The sun had begun to rise from the east, and the dim light she had been in was gradually being exposed to the morning sun. Even though the sun has risen, the valley remains cold.
Gretta's outfit consisted of a thick coat, a knit sweater, and black pants. Gretta only had a knife strapped around her waist to protect herself. Mat had destroyed her father's rifle, and she had no idea how to use it.
Gretta appeared to want to end her own life at this point, rather than seek vengeance.
Gretta had already gone deep into the forest and hadn't seen Leon at all. Is the man no longer present? Or was he trying to get away from Gretta?
What if Leon and Mat actually worked together? What if Leon actually gave Mat the order to attack Gretta and her family? Gretta's thoughts became increasingly jumbled with emotions in her chest.
"Leon!" She screamed as loudly as she could. The person appeared the last time she yelled that name. Gretta was certain the man was nearby because they were so far into the woods.
"Leon!" Gretta called again, her eyes darting in all directions. Gretta quickly followed the sound when she heard it coming from the West.
"Hey," someone whispered in Gretta's ear.
Gretta abruptly drew the knife from her waist, spun around, and attacked the person behind her.
Fortunately, Leon noticed Gretta's movement and managed to grab her hand.
Leon knew something was wrong when he saw the girl's pale face. If not, why would Gretta come back to see him?
Gretta's memories of her parents returned as soon as she became aware of Leon's presence. She couldn't hold back her tears and unconsciously hugged Leon.
Leon was perplexed by Gretta's behavior and simply let the girl cry in his chest. Leon gently patted Gretta's back for comfort after seeing her sobbing.
Gretta's hug gave Leon a strange feeling. Leon recognized the girl despite the fact that they had only met once and didn't know each other. Perhaps because the girl had the same face as Elisabeth.
"What brought you back?"
They sat together on the tree roots protruding to the surface, and Leon began to ask when Gretta's condition had improved.
Gretta stated coldly, "I want to kill Mat."
Let alone for Gretta, killing Mat is a difficult task for Leon. When Leon is dealing with Mat, he is always betting between life and death.
Even so, Leon couldn't say that to Gretta right now; instead, he silently acknowledged Gretta and her family's grief.
"He murdered my parents right in front of my eyes. "I will repay it with my own hands," Gretta continued.
Leon is as enraged as Gretta right now; I'm not sure why Mat did that, but it's truly outrageous. It was impossible for him to attack for no reason, but attacking an innocent human being while claiming to be a werewolf was never justified in Orlin.
"Please return to town," Leon pleaded. "Mat will not be easy for you," he continued.
Gretta stared at him, stunned; she had already told Leon everything that had occurred. So how could he ask Gretta to return? Even if Gretta returned, there would be nothing; it was better for the people there if Gretta left.
"Didn't you hear me say I'd get it even if I had to die?" Gretta was overjoyed.
That wasn't what Leon meant; he was just concerned about the girl. He didn't want Gretta to put her life in danger.
"Yes, I see. Do you also work with Mat? "Did you ask him to attack the family?"
"Do you think so?" Leon locked his gaze on Gretta. The girl in front of her was already staring at him blankly, her eyes filled with emotion.
"You-,"
Leon stood up and motioned for Gretta to be quiet. He had a feeling that someone was watching them, even if it couldn't be Mat based on what Gretta said. A day wasn't enough to recover from that many bullets, so the man must be enjoying his wound in Orlin.
Someone did indeed emerge from behind one of the tree trunks. He pointed his spear at Gretta's neck. Leon cast a silent glance behind the girl, while Gretta remained motionless.
"Drop your weapon!" Leon gives the order. The man ignored him at first, until Leon pushed his spear down.
"What brings you here?" Leon persisted in questioning the man.
The man was Leon's Orlin friend and the second in command of Leon's team. He made his way to the Rhone Valley.
"I came to get you because Orlin needs you, Leon."
It wasn't that he didn't want to go back; rather, Leon wasn't ready to see Orlin again. He fled the scene in order to deny Elisabeth's death.
Furthermore, Orlin's situation is not good; Leon is still a traitor to the Orlin kingdom and the most wanted fugitive. When he returns, he must be prepared to face Orlin's elite troops.
He realized he was in the Rhone Valley and that blending in would be futile. As happened to Gretta, there are innocent mortals who fall victim to Mat's and his troops' cruelty.
"How did you get here?"
Shan explains thoroughly. In Rhys' hands, Orlin's condition is becoming increasingly erratic.
Rhys was obsessed with war and power, and after Elisabeth died, he became even more so. Leon has become the most wanted fugitive, and even ordinary citizens have joined the hunt for him in exchange for a hefty fee from Rhys.
Leon's presence in the human world has spread to Orlin, implying that an attack on the Rhone Valley is imminent. The wanted list included not only Leon, but also the girl who was with him.
"I'm not sure why Rhys is interested in this girl. All I know is that this girl is very close to Orlin and King Adelmo."
As shocked as Leon was, Gretta was also confused by what Shan had said. How could he have any relation to that place? Gretta had no idea there were werewolves, Orlin, the kingdom, Rhys, and King Adelmo existed. They were all complete strangers.
"Now there are three fugitives: you, this girl, and me." Shan elaborated.
Shan was a member of the kingdom that previously joined the hunt for Leon, but after learning the truth, Shan decided to leave the army.
"But, what is your relationship like?" Shan alternated his gaze between Leon and Gretta, focusing on Gretta's hand, which was still holding Leon's arm.
Gretta let go of her grip quickly, not realizing what she was doing. She was just worried about the new man, and when he appeared, she was immediately struck in the neck by a spear. Leon gave him a long look before turning to Shan.
"Nothing," he replied.
