Chapter 6 - Be Alive

Mat was severely injured in the city, as Leon had predicted. A large enough number of ordinary bullets can still paralyze. As a result, they will most likely be safe from Mat for the time being.

"But there's no guarantee Rhys will stop; he's got plenty of troops to catch up with."

"I'm more concerned about Colin than Rhys. Even if Rhys doesn't order, I'm sure she'll be looking for you." Shan spoke up.

Leon agrees with Shan that the Mat sisters are a crazy couple who would do anything for each other.

Gretta stood by and watched as the two talked. She sat beside Leon, hugging her knees and resting her head on them. She had no idea what they were talking about.

Gretta had been keeping an eye on Shan for a few moments. The man has smooth white skin and appears to be younger than Leon. In terms of physique, it appears that all werewolves are tall and muscular.

Gretta hadn't seen Leon in person, but she knew he had an athletic build, as did Shan and Mat. Gretta has yet to encounter a dwarf werewolf.

Another thing was that she had never seen a female werewolf. Perhaps they, too, have a lovely face like the man.

"What is the matter with me?" Shan became aware that Gretta was keeping an eye on him.

Gretta shook her head in surprise at being apprehended so quickly.

"Does my appearance stand out among ordinary people?" Shan inquired yet again, this time to Leon.

T-shirt in gray, cotton blouse, jacket, and trousers. Shan's appearance isn't out of the ordinary. The same as humans in general.

"Why should you be concerned with your physical appearance?  You're usually naked as well," Leon remarked casually. He appeared to have forgotten Gretta was a girl.

"You care about appearance as well; what's wrong with a black long shirt and jogger pants?" Usually, there are no threads covering your body as well." Shan did not fare poorly when it came to bullying Leon.

"Hello, I'm still around." Gretta intervened in their argument. What types of fights involve being naked in front of a girl?

Leon and Shan finally came to a halt and returned to their original topic of discussion. Create strategies for restoring the old Orlin.

Gretta noticed Leon's back from a distance. She dashed towards him, but before she could reach him, he'd bounced off towards Gretta. Gretta held her breath as Leon approached her tiny body.

Gretta was now curled up with bated breaths beneath Leon's furry body. Leon cast a glance over Gretta's shoulder. The man appeared to be holding his body in order not to crush Gretta.

Colin had come looking for Leon, just as Shan had predicted.

"Get back behind that tree!" Leon gave the order when he heard footsteps approaching.

Gretta moved as Leon turned to face another wolf that was attacking him. He moved the opponent away from Gretta and made sure she was out of sight.

"How did you conceal the girl?" Colin pushed Leon's body away from her.

Leon appears exhausted and has wounds all over his body. His breathing became choppy and heavy, and his body weakened and he took a few steps back. Leon's body has changed dramatically while in the Rhone Valley. Much less energy is required.

Colin thrashed him with all his might. Shan hasn't returned since he left a while ago.

While Leon was retreating, another werewolf with a spear in his hand appeared behind him and attacked him. Gretta peered out from behind her hiding place at the sword, which was the same shape as the one Shan was carrying.

"Leon is on your side!" Gretta yelled as she dashed towards Leon.

At the same time, Shan dashed past Gretta and attacked the werewolf who had been carrying the spear earlier. That was Gretta's first encounter with Shan in werewolf form.

Colin wasted no time in attacking Gretta after turning away from Leon, who was already kneeling on the ground with blood pouring from his chest.

Leon was able to catch up to Colin and grab the woman's leg even though he was only half conscious. Colin quickly turned around and stabbed Leon with his spear.

Colin drew the spear back, causing Leon to grimace. Colin raised her spear again, ready to launch another attack. She intended to murder Leon.

Colin's head was hit by a large rock. Gretta took a step back after the stone she threw struck Colin in the back of the head.

It didn't have much of an effect on Colin, but it did help because she was now moving away from Leon and toward Gretta.

Shan has completed his 'business,' and the opponent Colin brought with her was not a formidable foe to contend with for long.

"Colin!" shouts Shan.

Shan's spear had already hit her thigh when Colin turned her head. Colin was able to extract the spear, but the wound was quite deep. When she notices her friend is already dying behind Shan, she attacks him with a thigh wound.

"You don't want to run away? On human soil, the wound will not heal quickly." Shan resisted Colin's assault.

Colin drew herself up. Colin would not win against Shan because her torn friend was on the ground and her injured leg. She stepped back and left, saying she'd return another time.

"Leon!" Gretta moved Leon's lifeless body to the ground.

"We need to get him to Orlin as soon as possible; he'll recover faster there." Shan assists Leon in sitting and leans on the rock.

Gretta alternated her gaze between Shan and Leon. Shan looked at Leon as if he understood what Gretta was saying. How were they going to get that massive body to Orlin?

Shan's body size is significantly smaller than Leon's; if he carried him, Shan could be crushed by Leon's body.

Meanwhile, if Leon transforms into a human right away, he may die due to his severe injuries. He will be able to survive if he stays in werewolf form.

They attempted to resuscitate Leon and inquired as to whether he could still walk, but there was no response.

"We have to treat it first," Gretta said as she moved away from her seat. If herbs from the leaves there could heal Leon's wounds before, perhaps they can now.

Gretta gathered whatever leaves she thought were herbal leaves, smoothed them on the rock Leon was leaning on, and pressed them against Leon's wound.

"What are you doing?" Shan takes Gretta's hand in his. "If Leon had known, he would have been upset."

"Rather than die," Gretta said, pulling her hand away and carrying on with her work.

Shan couldn't do anything but stand there and watch Gretta stick the leaves into Leon's wound. He grimaced now and then, as if the person being treated was himself.

Shan had never seen Leon use herbal medicines or anything of the sort to treat his wounds. They have fast enough cell regeneration that their wounds can heal on their own.

Allowing it to heal itself would be preferable to using herbal medicine. That's also why Leon doesn't want to use herbal medicine because it makes his wound hurt even worse.

Gretta wrapped Leon's wound with the same scarf she used the first time. When they met again, the man returned the scarf to Gretta, but the scarf was now back on Leon.

They would take a break while Leon's condition improved. Shan buried the werewolf he'd killed earlier, and Gretta leaned against Leon.

"How many of them are there?" Gretta sighed.
