Chapter 8 - Don't Touch Her

They continued on their way. Leon was in the lead, followed by Gretta, and Shan was in the rear.

This morning's incident was officially forgotten; it was simply a convenient accident. Gretta was still sound asleep when Leon left. He who likes to sleep or the effect of fatigue

Leon's condition had improved; the wound on his chest had not only healed but had completely vanished from his skin. His clothes were torn, indicating a scar.

"Where are we going?" Gretta looked at Shan.

"We'll go wherever Leon's feet lead us."

Gretta's unsatisfactory response She couldn't help but sigh; it was exactly what she expected from the two strange people surrounding her. The more Gretta tried to initiate the conversation, the stranger their responses became.

They walked eastward, following the rising sun, but the path they were on had changed. Because it is no longer a forest, but rather a meadow next to a rocky hill, it is more open to nature this time.

Gretta was exhausted. Gretta lowered her head as she used her hands to support her weight on her knees.

"Can't we take a breather?" she asked, her voice raspy.

"We're not far away; we'll just walk a little farther." Shan approaches Gretta and asks her to continue on. Leon was gaining ground without noticing whether or not the person in front of him was still breathing.

Gretta got back on her feet perfectly and continued on her way by taking a deep breath and exhaling it roughly.

Gretta could put her trust in Shan because they soon came to a halt in front of a functional, classic Victorian mini house. The nine-by-seven-foot one-story tiny house has natural stone walls and semi-concrete roof tiles.

"Whose house is this?"

Leon was the first to enter, followed by Gretta, who was invited by Shan.

When they got inside, Shan said, "This is a shared house."

Leon, Shan, and some of their other friends lived in the same house. Since Leon left, the house has been abandoned. Only Shan remains standing beside him now that the majority of his friends have sided with Orlin and joined Mat's army.

"We can stay warm here for a while," Leon explained. "At least until Mat's troops notice we've arrived in Orlin."

Gretta remained in the center of the room, surveying the entire house.

The majority of the furniture in the house is made of wood, from table and chair sets to kitchen utensils. The house, like any tiny house, has a chimney from the fireplace in the living room corner.

Gretta's gaze is drawn to Shan, and she returns her gaze to the man, making Shan uncomfortable.

"May I use the restroom?" Gretta asked, and Shan immediately nodded.

"Strange girl," Shan grumbled as Gretta walked away. He cast a quick glance at Leon beside him. Leon, it turned out, gave him a strange look as well.

They spent the entire day in that house. The night had almost completely enveloped Orlin, and the sounds of wild animals and night howls began to overlap.

Gretta had never heard anything like that before, but she didn't mind and was simply enjoying it.

The fire in the fireplace warmed them sufficiently, particularly Gretta, who was sitting closest to the fire.

"Would you rather warm up or burn yourself?" Leon sat behind Gretta, pulling her back a little.

Gretta complied with Leon's instructions, retreated quite a distance, and sat right beside him. clinging to the man's arm

"You don't have to sit here either, Gretta."

Gretta sat at the end of the sofa, still close to the fire but not close enough to burn it. Gretta sat on the sofa with her legs folded and her gaze fixed on the fire. She was completely immersed in her own world.

Shan sits across from them, ignoring them, pretending not to hear anything and focusing on the book in his hand.

When Leon heard something from outside, Shan also heard the same sound.

"I'll take a look at it." Shan gets to his feet and peers out the door.

Leon took Gretta into his private quarters. Asking the girl not to come out before Leon asked.

Colin had already entered the living room when Leon left. Meanwhile, Shan is outside with Colin's troops.

"Wouldn't it be too much to bring in that many troops to capture an ordinary girl?" Leon wondered.

"We came not only to catch a common girl, but also to catch you, Leon."

"No matter how many troops you bring, it won't catch me, Colin," Leon chuckled.

"At the very least, they can take out one of your minions." Colin pointed her finger at Shan, who was being attacked by Colin's men.

"You really don't know the proper fighting rules in Orlin." Leon transforms into a werewolf in an instant and drags Colin out of the house.

Shan can't face them all if the odds are five to one. Even if Leon assisted him with a few attacks against Colin on the sidelines, they were not evenly matched.

As a result, two werewolves infiltrated the house in search of Gretta.

Shan successfully incapacitated one person and confronted the other two. Shan gets scratched on the face several times, which is a little sore but not enough to complain about.

Colin continued to attack Leon without pausing for a second. While Leon didn't want to hit the girl, Colin was his former best friend's younger brother.

Gretta hears footsteps outside the room she is hiding in inside the house. The weight of the step told her that it couldn't be something in human form.

There was nowhere to hide in the room because it was completely empty. Gretta crouched in front of the door, holding her breath as footsteps outside approached.

There was a pounding on the door, and Gretta became increasingly agitated. She didn't know what to do now; all she could think about was keeping the door from opening.

Gretta's strength was insufficient to keep the door open, and she fell to the floor as a result. Two werewolves, sure enough, greeted her with sinister grins.

Gretta's upper arm was injured by four claws as a result of her strong resistance while being carried. Nonetheless, she persisted in her rebellion.

"Let me go!" Gretta refused to accept having both her hands pulled.

Leon's concentration wavered as he watched Gretta being dragged away roughly by those people.

"Bring her to Mat; he can kill her right away!" Colin gave the order while laughing heartily in Leon's embrace.

Leon could see how the people were treating Gretta from the corner of his eye. One of the wolves was about to rip Gretta apart right in front of her eyes. Leon didn't let that happen, instead dragging the wolves away and mercilessly beating him.

Whoever disturbs the girl will be dealt with directly by Leon.

But he had forgotten Colin was free. Colin took advantage of the situation by aiming her spear at Gretta. If Leon doesn't appear and interfere with her aim, letting go will hit her right in the chest.

The spear finally struck Leon's right arm first, then Gretta's left cheek, and landed on the large log behind Gretta.

Leon noticed Gretta grimacing and holding her cheek, and he cast a sidelong glance at Colin. Leon quickly drew the spear from behind Gretta and hurled it at Colin.

Landed right on the girl's chest, got stuck in a tree, and hung Colin there.

When the remaining wolves tried to flee, Leon did not simply let them go. They pursued them, tearing and stabbing them with their own spears.

The one who remained walked backwards to avoid Leon. Leon had him in his grip in no time.

"Ask Mat to pay a visit to his sweet little sister, who meddles too much in other people's affairs," he said as he let go of the wolf in his grip.
