Chapter 18 - Chapter 9.1 "Things She Will Regret"

It is very traumatic for a bachelorette like Ryan to accidentally showed her naked body in front of five men. Therefore, no one can blame her if she wished to…

“I will really kill you!”

Yes. She just wished to kill Terban someday.

Ryan was sitting on the bed, crying as she hugged her knees. Tears just fell down from her eyes as she felt so angry and embarrassed by the incident which took place at the new house she’s living at.

It is true that it wasn’t just Terban’s fault. Ryan forgot to lock the door and she slipped down because she was running barefoot, causing her towel to fall down. However, Ryan still blamed everything to him. This added her hatred against Mr. Negative.

Meanwhile on the other side, Terban was laying on his bed while he covered himself with a thick blanket. He tried his best to wash away the image of naked woman in his mind. Because even if he has a foul tongue, Terban is a man who never watch an adult video.

“It wasn’t my fault that she slipped down!” Terban complained before he sat up on his bed.

His face is as red as apple, and he breathed as if he finished a set of marathon. When he slightly calmed down, he washed his face with his palms.

“Sh*t,” he murmured. “Now how can I tell her that I am her childhood friend?”

Because of this incident, Terban decided to postpone his plan of telling her the truth he had found.

Hours passed by.

Ryan felt hungry and so she moved out of her bed. She locked herself inside her room for almost half a day, no doubt why her tummy was growling so much.

Slowly, Ryan opened the door and looked around.

“It is 10pm. Surely, everyone is at their perspective room,” she whispered in herself. Then, she went out of her room, tiptoeing as if she does not wake up a monster sleeping on its chamber.

“I am hungr…”

With widened eyes, Ryan looked at the man who is the owner of the voice she heard.

It was Slyvester. He did not finish his sentence because he saw Ryan at the exact time he went out of his room.

The two, just like statues, stayed standing there while looking at each other.

Slyvester, who is wearing white sleeveless white short and blue short, gave a cheerful smile to Ryan. He knew that bringing the recent incident won’t be a good idea.

“Where are you going? Ryan?”

Due to his smile and his question, Ryan realized that it should be better to play ignorant, as if nothing has happened.

“I’m hungry,” she answered.

“Really?!” he gasped. “Me too! I am planning of going to the convenience store to eat instant noodles. Let’s go and eat there. It’s my treat.” He, then, placed his arm around her shoulder.

At first, Ryan wasn’t comfortable whenever Slyvester placed his arm on her shoulder. But because he’s been doing to her since day one, she’s slowly adapting at his overly friendly attitude, as if he does not see her as a woman at all.

“No, I’m fine. I’ll just fry an egg,” Ryan declined before he put his arm away from her.

“No way. Accept it and be thankful for the blessing,” Slyvester kept on convincing her until she said yes.

They arrived at the nearest convenience store.

Slyvester happily picked up the two instant cup noodles. He brought them at the counter then paid, and then poured the free hot water.

Slyvester and Ryan ate inside the convenience store because there are no other customer inside.

“Thank you for this, Slyv,” Ryan murmured before she took a sip on the warm soup.

“Not a big deal,” Slyvester spoke with lovely giggles.

“Ahhh, I have a question,” Ryan said after gulping. “Are you really this kind to every woman?”

Slyvester chocked, as he was sipping the soup when Ryan dropped the answer. He coughed for few more times.

“Do you want water?” Ryan worriedly asked.

Slyvester shook his head. After overcoming the crisis, loud crackle of laughs slipped from his lips. “Why did you suddenly think of that?” he inquired.

“When we first saw each other, you saved me from drowning. Then, you warmly welcomed me in our boarding house. You always there to help me without asking for exchange. Just like now. I was in a bad mood, so you treat me for food.”

Slyvester laughs subsided. Soon his lips formed a sweet beam. “I am not kind to all women,” he answered. “Actually, when it comes to annoying people, I am meanier than Vincent. It just that our first encounter gave me a huge impact.”

“When you saved me? What kind of impact you are talking about?”

This time, Ryan chuckled.

The joyous expression on Slyvester’s face vanished in instant. “You reminded me of my ex-girlfriend.”

Ryan suddenly remembered the time where they played question and answer together. The question that Slyvester received is : Can you tell us about your ex?

At the time, he could not answer. He passed the question in grimace. Ryan then guessed that there must be a painful experience between Slyvester and his past lover.

‘If there is, I should not ask for more,’ Ryan told to herself.

Mimicking Slyvester, Ryan thought of changing the subject.

“Let’s finish this. Look at the time. It’s almost 11.”

“You’re right,” Slyvester responded then forced himself to smile.

The two finished their nigh snack. As they were about to go, a customer entered the store.

“Oh? Eve is here,” Vincent greeted when he saw Ryan.

‘Eve?’ Ryan wondered who the hell Vincent is talking about. It took her seconds to realized that Vincent called her Eve because of the incident that happened before!

“Pffft!” Slyvester could not stop himself from laughing, even if he wanted to stop Vincent at first.

Ryan turned red. She covered her face as she prayed she has power to disappear right now.

“I will take back what I said before,” Slyvester whispered. “Vincent is more evil than me.”

“Did you eat instant noodles?” Vincent asked, wearing his infamous poker face. “Only the two of you? That’s unfair.” He walked towards the huge fridge to get ice creams.

“You are going to buy ice cream for yourself too,” Slyvester defended.

Vincent picked up his favorite ice cream.

“If Eve wants some ice cream, I will buy some for her,” he said, setting his eyes back to Ryan who just pulled her hands down. He smirked and continued, “Do you want ice cream?”

“N-No thanks,” Ryan declined, still blushing.

“Hey Vincent. Stop calling her Eve,” Slyvester protested.

“Don’t play innocent. I know you also found it funny,” Vincent said in serious tone before he walked towards the counter and paid for his ice cream.

Once again, Slyvester suppressed his laughs by firmly biting his lips. He snatched a peek at Ryan who is currently glaring at his evil friend.

The three stayed inside the convenience store. Vincent forced them to stay, that’s why.

“What happened before?” Vincent asked Ryan.

Somehow, Ryan felt the relief that he finally called her in her real name.

Actually, she does not want to open the topic anymore; knowing that they might tease her after. But they looked serious so maybe, there’s no wrong on saying her side.

“I don’t know,” she said, pouting. “I finished my bath then…” She could not finished telling a story that is hard to share to men, even if they already saw everything.

“You don’t need to tell it in details. That must be uncomfortable,” Vincent said in serious tone. Licking his ice cream, he added. “What I want to know is why did T…”

A loud motorcycle passed by. It was too loud that Ryan did not hear the name Vincent has uttered. But even if she did not hear it, she knew it’s Mr. Negative.

“... in front of your house,” Vincent continued.

Slyvester is sitting between them. He looked alternately at the two, waiting.

“I am not sure,” said Ryan. “But it looks like he wanted to say something. Maybe he’s looking for a fight again.”

Vincent shrugged his shoulder. “I don’t think so. Looking at his attitude, he won’t waste a time just to visit you and ask for a fight. If it was that bastard Chaylen, then that’s makes sense.”

“I agree,” Slyvester said. He looked at Ryan and said his opinion. “What if he just wanted to apologize and be your friend?”

“That jerk? Will ask me to reconcile?” Ryan gasped. In her eyes which held rage, it was obvious how angry she is to Terban. “That is impossible. So IMPOSSIBLE! Ahh! I don’t know anymore! No matter what he wants, I don’t care!”

If only Ryan knows that Terban went there to introduce himself as her childhood friend, she will definitely regret not giving him another chance.
