Weekends flew so fast and today is Monday afternoon again. Kyle is on his way back to the boarding house.
“Time is so fast,” he murmured while riding his bike. “It just yesterday when we saw Ryan naked inside her…”
He stopped imagining at that point, even slapping his cheek with his right hand, while his left holds the bike steering wheel.
“Geez. I shouldn’t think about that,” he complained to himself.
Kyle did try to forget the scene, but he failed. He laughed from time to time when he remembered the scene, and felt sorry and awkward for her too. Even though he is a self proclaimed angel, Kyle is still a man.
Exactly at that time, Kyle saw Ryan walking alone on the way to their boarding house.
“Ryan!” he called.
Ryan stopped from walking and turned to his direction, and then Kyle stepped on the brake, parking beside her.
“Are you going home? Come hop on,” he offered, tapping the back side of his bike.
With reddened face, Ryan opened her mouth and closed it again, as if she has something to say but changed her mind in a second. She still feels so embarrass about the incident.
‘Then, how can I make her feel less awkward?’ Kyle wondered.
“About the incident,” Kyle stated.
“Can’t we just not talk about that? It’s ruining my mood,” she begged.
Kyle’s tanned skin turned pale, like a bar of gold underneath a pile of snow. He knew he made a mistake mentioning about it, when he had no intention to point it out as her flaw or even purposely embarrass her. He just wanted to say that he’ll forget the incident so that she won’t need to feel wary.
Therefore, hanging his head low, Kyle apologized. “Sorry. It’s my fault.”
Ryan waved her hands and responded, “It’s okay.”
“No. Sorry. I’ll apologize for the incident.”
This time, Ryan chuckled at his reaction which reminded her of the cute puppy she saw at her Instagr*m a moment ago.
“Weird. Why are you apologizing for something that wasn’t your fault?”
Kyle’s eyes widened then subsided. He nodded his head as he realized that she has a point.
‘Right. I also noticed that I tend to say sorry even at the things which aren’t my mistake. Maybe, that’s the reason why girls dump me. I should change this attitude,’ he said to himself.
“But people like you are commendable,” she added. “Humble people are rare.” She smiled at him and even gave a thumbs up.
How silly it is for him to have his plans toss up and down. Ryan complimented the attitude that he wanted to improve, which left him no choice but to eradicate his plan. Surely, her words encouraged Kyle. He really wanted to be with someone who can appreciate his own color.
And she’s here.
That someone is standing near him and he couldn’t stop smiling from ear to ear.
Didn’t he promise that he will stop this growing feelings inside him? He did. He always say that to himself every morning. However, this jilly jolly butterflies in his stomach whenever he sees Ryan are very stubborn. Kyle blamed how his body reacts to her, as if he separated his mind and his heart.
While battling against his thoughts, Ryan spoke and snapped him out.
“Are you really okay letting me ride on your bike?” she asked, then warned, “I’m heavier than you thought.”
“It’s okay. I can pull this off.”
“Well, if you insists.”
Ryan hopped on the back of his back. Instantly, he felt the weight behind him.
‘Ohhh. She’s really heavy,’ Kyle laughed inwardly.
“Hold tight,” he reminded.
She held tightly at the hemline of his shirt. Then Kyle stepped on the pedals with a groan.
“Argh!”
“Oh my, are you tired already?” Ryan teased.
“N-No,” he excused. “I just feel sad that you held my shirt instead of hugging me from be…”
Kyle’s eyes widened. His ears turned red as he tried to change his words.
“I mean…! Yes! You’re heavy!”
“...”
Ryan didn’t reply.
With cold sweats, Kyle worried, ‘Is she mad? Just why did I have a slip of tongue out there?! I am an idiot!’
“Ryan?”
“Ahhh. Sorry,” Ryan, who wasn’t paying attention to his answers murmured. “My mom is calling so I was busy getting my phone from my pocket. What did you say again?”
“Ahhhh, I s-said… I mean…. You’re not heavy. Ahmmm, actually… I…”
“Wait a minute,” Ryan excused. “I’ll answer the call first.”
“S-Sure! Yes! Please!”
Kyle took a deep breath. He felt he was saved by the bell at the right time. Ryan is indeed heavy. But it wasn’t a lie when he said he’s sad because Ryan only held the hemline of his shirt. Problem is, he said that from a slip of tongue.
‘What if Ryan thinks I have a crush on her?’ Kyle worried.
His heart beats so heart, not only because he’s nervous, but he’s getting tired from pulling the pedals too.
“Hello, mom?”
Tilting his head, he listened at Ryan’s conversation with her mom through the phone.
“Huh?” she gasped.
Kyle glanced back. He saw her using only one hand to hold his shirt.
‘That’s dangerous. Should I just stop and park this aside?’ he considered.
“WHAT?!” a loud shout pierced Kyle’s ears.
He pressed the brake out of surprise, resulting for Ryan to hug him from behind.
“...!”
Kyle blinked his rounded eyes swiftly.
‘She’s hugging me. She’s hugging me. She’s hugging me!’
His thoughts were a mess, so did Ryan.
“Kyle! Kyle!” she shouted before she jabbed behind his back.
“Ouch! W-Why?!” Kyle asked. He turned around with reddened face, and that’s when he noticed her anxious expression.
“I’m doomed,” Ryan said, as if she’s about to cry. “My mom called me. They said that they will visit me in my boarding house.”
“Ahhh, really? Then why are you doomed? It is not against the ruled to accept visitors in our boarding house.”
“That is not the problem. The thing is… Actually… my parents aren’t aware that I am living with men under the same roof.”
“WHAT?!”
Kyle’s heart beats even faster.
