The night when Slyvester and Kyle disguised as women went so long. Therefore the serenity inside the boarding house the next morning seems too unbelievable. As if the calm after the destructive storm.
As Ryan hopped down on the stairway, she saw Kyle moving in fast pace.
“Are you going to school? It’s holiday today,” Ryan greeted him with a question.
Kyle glanced at her then grabbed the paper-bags on the floor. “Ahhh. Well, I need to bring back the wigs and dress I borrowed from the theater club. They called me and said they need this right now.”
“Ahh,” she murmured.
Since she’s the reason why Kyle had to borrow things for their disguise, Ryan suggested that she should come and help.
“Should I come with you?”
Her offer was rejected in instant.
“No need. Just rest inside. Also, if I bring you with me, then you had to ride on my bike too. That will make me tired.”
“Wait a minute. Are you saying that I am heavy?”
Instead of answering, Kyle scratched his nape and smiled faintly at him. The two stared at each other before laughing together.
Somehow, even if Kyle indirectly called her heavy, Ryan could not bring herself to feel angry.
“Ahh, why is there no one inside the house?” asked Ryan when she noticed the stillness inside the boarding house.
While wearing his rubber-shoes, Kyle answered, “Chaylen said that he will attend to a party. Vincent has a gig tonight.” He stood up and faced Ryan while carrying the paper-bags. But before he said that next words, his expression turned sour and Ryan noticed the sudden shift of his reaction.
So she asked, “W-Why?”
“Hmmm. Actually, today is Slyvester’s ex-girlfriend’s death anniversary.”
Ryan was loss for words.
“He might visit her today,” Kyle added, taking a deep breath.
Her response came back after a few moment. “Ahhhh. Is that so.”
“Yeah. Well, I need to go now.” He checked his wrist watch and bid, “See you later!”
“Okay. Take care, Kyle!”
“Sure. Thanks!”
When Kyle left, Ryan couldn’t help but to fetch a sigh.
“Now I know why Slyvester shut his lips when we’re talking about past lovelife during our game before.”
She hopped one level of the stair and stopped when she remembered something.
“Oh? But he said before that I kinda reminded him of his ex. I wonder how.”
Ryan tilted his head before going to the kitchen. However, as soon as she stepped at the entrance, a surprising sight made her jaw dropped.
At the exact time, Kyle who’s riding his bake, pressed the brake after he remembered an important information he forgot to share to Ryan.
“Oh no,” he murmured. “I forgot to tell her that Terban is in the house.” He, then, bit his lower lip as he muttered. “They will definitely fight again.”
Will it come true? Will Terban and Ryan fight again now that they are alone in the house?
“What are you doing here?!” Ryan gasped while looking at Terban.
Sipping on his coffee while sitting down, Terban diverted his eyes to her. “In case you forgot, I am…”
Terban shut his lips before rude words come out. He took a deep breath and said this in calm tone:
“Ryan. I am living here. So it is only natural that I am inside this house. Right?”
Mr. Negative spoke in gentle manner?!
Ryan couldn’t gape even more. She felt like the sun rose from the West, and the crows turned white. Because of his unusual behavior, Ryan lost the strength to argue anymore. She opened the fridge in silent, and poured milk on her glass. After this, she quietly grabbed a bread and walked away.
“Where are you going?” Terban asked which made her stopped.
Puzzled, she looked back. “To my room,” she answered. “I know you don’t like to eat with me on the same table. So I will adjust.”
Ryan has a point. Looking back at their past experiences, Terban won’t tolerate being with her for a long time. But today, a miracle will happen.
“You can eat with me,” Terban shyly offered, then avoided her gaze like an embarrassed fine lady. “This is the dining room, so why eat inside your room? Also, we paid the same amount to live in this house. You have the rights to eat here.”
Ryan blinked swiftly.
‘What did he eat?!’ she shouted in her head.
This is so unbelievable, she thought. If Terban thinks that Ryan will feel at ease at his offer, then he’s wrong! At his sudden kind behaviors, Ryan trembled in fear.
Thus, she answered, “No thanks. I’ll be better inside my room.” Then she dashed upward.
When he arrived at the room, Ryan leaned her back on the closed door, with her eyes wide opened.
“What is he planning?” she whispered, suspecting Terban.
She thought that Mr. Negative has evil plan going inside his head. But little did she know, the reason why Terban suddenly changed is because he found out that she is the little girl he’s been looking for.
If only the Naked Accident didn’t happen, Terban would have introduce himself.
