Chapter 29 - A true monster

After naming his newfound companion, Kore sat down to catch his breath from the recent battle that had taken a toll on his HP. Though he had been injured in the battle and could still move around, he had thought that it would be dangerous to continue pushing forward.

Kore had decided to check his stats while sitting down for a while.

'STATUS' Kore shouted in his mind while sitting.

After checking his status and taking notice of the new name added to the servants category, he got up and began his walk back.

After a short bit of walking, Kore had wondered, 'I wonder if Leo and Zyn are alright', and with that thought, he sped up back to where they had split up at.

Upon reaching the split, he had heard fighting down the other direction, which he rushed down quickly. After a short distance of running, he had reached his friends. They were both alright and obviously fighting something, though it hadn't appeared to be a difficult opponent for them.

"HEY!" Kore shouted at Zyn and Leo in order to get their attention.

The two looked back briefly before continuing the fight, quickly finishing off what they were fighting. "Are you kidding me? I knew we should've stuck together." Leo shouted at Zyn after looking at Kore's injuries, which were actually quite bad with him being slashed and stabbed across his body and head.

"Well, he obviously wasn't in any serious danger as he would've used the mirror, I gave him." Zyn responded to Leo's shouts.

"I'm alright, don't argue about it. I mean, it was my idea to split up anyway." Kore interjected

And with that, Leo scoffed but stayed silent. "So what happened to you anyway-" Zyn asked before noticing the small dog that had been following Kore "And what is that?"

"Well, do you remember that egg that I had?" Kore asked before continuing, "Well it cracked, and it came out of it, but anyway, I had fought an armed bear and won with the help of the dog. It also has a name. It's called Flames."

"Welp, this is the first time I've heard of a dog hatching from an egg." Leo said.

During the conversation, a rumbling had been heard deeper into the dungeon, followed by large stomps. It seemed like something large was heading toward the group, so quickly Leo and Zyn had gotten into a position in front of Kore in order to face whatever was heading toward them.

The stomps got louder and louder until they saw it. The "monster" was no understatement. It was looming over them nearly triple their size. It appeared to be made out of stone with carvings that looked to be ancient, along with moss covering the beast. It appeared to have a face, which was strange only having two eyes.

Despite the horror and fear that Kore was experiencing, he had to know what he was facing.

'Analysis' he shouted in his head while facing the monster.

[Ancient Golem]

[Epic Monster]

[A golem from another era, Incredible Strength but slow speeds. At all costs, avoid.]

Kore read through the analysis and after understanding that he nor his friends could face this thing, he yelled "RUN!", which they did immediately, though it was following them, shaking the dungeon around them. They were still faster than it anyway.

They quickly made it to the entrance of the dungeon where several teachers had just arrived. It appeared they had realized something was going on inside the dungeon and had shown up to find out whatever it was.

"What is exactly going on in there to cause such a warning from the watches?" Professor Dreos had asked as he was also there along with the other teachers. Along with that, he noticed a small black dog but didn't say anything about it.

"Golem." Kore had huffed out while catching his breath from the chase that had just happened.

Upon hearing this, several teachers entered the dungeon to face the monster inside, and with that, a battle broke out almost immediately with sounds of magic and sword swings being made.

"Alright you three. I'm going to need you to follow me for questioning." While walking, Dreos said

Dreos looked back at Kore quickly while thinking, 'It's always something with this kid. I wonder why.'

All three of them were shook up from that encounter, as the dungeon shouldn't have had something as dangerous as that inside, and the hardest thing should've been the dungeon boss, and even that was just a great wolf, which at most is a rare monster that couldn't even leave the boss room.

After a while of walking, they had reached the interrogation rooms that Kore was originally led to when he was first interrogated. Then they were each split up into each of their own rooms, leaving Kore alone with only his thoughts.
