Chapter 31 - The Doors

Kore had been standing there staring at his panel, trying to figure out what the skill did. Though it provided no information, he understood what it should do. But the strange thing was that there had been plenty of ability users who could sense living things in a specific area, but there had been no reports in the books he had looked through since reincarnating that mentioned sensing the dead.

Well, he had decided to move on and look at his newly gained stat points which he had to decide where they went.

[Name: Kore Gerus]

[Mp: 8/8]

[Job: /]

[Lv: 4]

[20/250]

Agi: 11

[Servants: Lilly vi Grisgame, Flames]

Though he could just dump the points into strength and be stronger and stand toe to toe with some monsters with that type of strength, he would still lose in a battle of attrition or speed and many other things, so in order to sort out the problem of long battles, he decided to put two stat points into stamina.

[+1 Stamina]

[+1 Stamina]

He wanted most of his stats to be matching or on the same level in order to prevent him from being incredibly strong and really slow. He wanted to be well rounded in everything he did for the most part, which would leave him open to do many things, so he put one point into intelligence and one into sense.

[+1 Sense]

[+1 Intelligence]

And for the final point, he wanted to put it into agility because being strong is nice and all, but it won't stop you from being hit, and if there was one thing, he wanted to avoid, it would be death.

[+1 Agility]

And with that, he closed the panel and cleared his mind a bit in order to prepare for the upcoming battles he was bound to face going deeper into the dungeon. After a bit of mind clearing, he began to walk.

He had also called out to Flames because the hellhound had still been standing guard and was not following him when he began moving "Flames come on, let's go."

Kore was also checking his supplies while walking, such as the watch and the mirror his friends had given him when they split up. Though he had no intentions of using the mirror, he was happy to know he had it just in case.

After a while, he found a split which went two ways. The right had been blocked by a deep crimson door while the other had been a dark grey. Though he wanted to push forward, there might be a chance that things would get too dangerous for even his friends to help, but if it gets to that point, a teacher might show up, but it would still be unsafe.

So, Kore didn't want his friends to be put into a dangerous situation, but at the same time, if he only went a short distance and didn't venture too far, things shouldn't be too dangerous, but he had decided he wanted to keep going. The only issue now was what door should he cross into, though he had thought back on his new skill and he might be able to use it to see what's on the other side.

'Life and Death Sense' Kore called out into his mind.

Immediately he felt overwhelmed with a strong blooming sense of life coming from the grey door and a grim feeling of death from the crimson. This feeling was something he wasn't used to, so he closed his eyes and tried to adjust to this new feeling that he was experiencing, taking deep breaths.

And after a while, he had adjusted to the feeling, rather it became a part of him like an extra limb he couldn't see, and with that he could sense around three to four things that felt like the earlier grim feeling of death from the crimson door and two things that felt like it was actually living and breathing, a rather relaxing yet strange feeling.

[+1 sense]

This had helped him make the decision of what to do. Finally, with him stepping forward and shoving the grey door open with no hesitation, he walked through into the room. It appeared to be an overgrown house with the walls made of stone but plants piercing through the cracks of each brick. Though there were windows, there was just stone on the other side rather than an actual view.

He looked around the room to see several wooden doors on the walls up ahead and normal furniture filling the room, but it was all uncared for with vines growing over the chairs and dinner table.

It had reminded him of the home that he lived in before leaving for the academy, which made him reminisce briefly before he heard something scattering around in the dark corners of the room and shuffling behind the other doors inside the house.

He put his knife in front of him and prepared for anything to rush at him, yet nothing came.
