Edmund looked around trying to understand the situation he was in. He turned to the desk behind the lady who was looking at him weirdly. He took some steps towards her.
'At least she should know where this is' he soliloquized.
He stopped just as he got in front of her and smiled faintly before returning to his original position. For all he knew, she could be part of their scheme. Some of the men upstairs could be in the same situation as him.
She gazed at him for a while before returning to the book on her table.
Some men came out of the rooms close by and went to the lady. She handed them a book in which they wrote some things and left the inn.
As far as he could remember, he had never been to an inn not to talk of an extravagant one like this. He stood still for a while and upon noticing the lady's gaze decided to walk towards the door. It wasn't far from where he stood so in some seconds he was out of the building.
The whole environment seemed foreign to him. He hadn't been here before and if not for Akima, he didn't think he would ever have a reason to come here.
The sky was so dark making the environment seem spiritual to him. For a while, it felt as of the sky on this side was way different from the one at his house. He watched the bright stars closely and didn't realize when a lady was beside him.
"Why are you outside?" The voice said withdrawing his attention.
Edmund turned to Verola. He was shocked to find her. He had forgotten about his plan to escape, Verola and even the other guys that helped him.
He blinked a bit unsure if she was talking to him.
"Well, I was…. just taking a walk then…I erm.."
He hadn't finished his statement when Verola walked away.
"What." He soliloquized silently. He felt lonely a bit and followed her inside.
On getting inside, he watched her walk up the stairs. They hadn't even told him where he was going to be sleeping. He didn't know which room he was to go to.
He waited for a while before making a turn and going outside.
He continued his observation of the stars trying to understand their physical characteristics.

Verola stood by her window looking at the stars. It was something she loved to do before going to bed. She caught sight of Edmund standing outside alone and was about to turn her gaze when she realized what he was doing. Amazed by how he was studying the stars. She felt a bit connected to him but swiftly returned her gaze to the sky to avoid being noticed.
She gazed at the moon trying to avoid making eye contact with the man she rescued.
She soon felt dizzy and decided to take a last glance at him before going to bed.
Verola woke up the following morning and surprisingly to her, the first place that picked her interest was the man who was outside.
She rushed to the window but didn't find Edmund there so she rushed out of her room.
She wasn't supposed to be concerned about this unknown man but for some reason, she just wanted to find out about him.
She walked through the hallway but couldn't sight him. He couldn't have stayed in one of the men's rooms because she didn't see him get in before she slept. She noticed a dark browned hair by a door and walked up to him.
"Hey, you." She said and moved closer.
"Yes, miss." The man turned surprised by the look she wore.
She took a good look at the man and realized that it wasn't the guy from yesterday.
"Hmm…" she cleared her throat.
"Go on with your work." She said and continued observing the hall.
She walked downstairs and bumped into Miller who woke up earlier.
"Verola, why are you lost?"
"Ohh. I'm not lost. I was just a bit tired." She replied.
"But, you just woke up. I suggest you get some rest before we leave." Miller said and moved close to her.
"Excuse me miss." A brownish-haired man spoke from behind.
Verola turned to Edmund a bit surprised.
"I'm sorry for disturbing you but erm.. I would be leaving now." Edmund continued still a bit frightened.
"Okay," Miller cut in.
"Please, could I get a horse. I live down south." He sighed, silently hoping for a positive response.
"Well, we don't.." Miller was about to speak but Verola cut in on her.
"Lukam."
A middle-aged came close to her.
"Yes, miss."
"Take this man to the stables and give him a horse," Verola said and took a glance at Edmund.
"Okay miss." He replied and gestured for Edmund to come along.
Edmund smiled happily at Verola who in turn gave a quick smile but changed her expression to avoid being noticed.
He turned to the man who was a few metres from him and rushed to catch up with him.
He got to the door and decided to take a last glance at Verola. This time he wasn't a good bye look since he was quite sure that he would see her again.
