Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 Malachi

I woke up in a strange bed. This was not my bed. And what is that smell. It smelled sweet. Very sweet, yet calming. I hummed, wanting to keep lying in the bed. The bed sheet felt soft and silky. I loved sleeping and this bed made me love it even more. My body ached for some reason. All the more reason for me too not want to get up. Then I heard a knock on the door. Knock. Knock. Knock.

"Will you stop the knocking and speak already!?" I said harshly surprising myself. "Come in. The knocking is giving me a head ache." I placed my hand to my forehead softening my voice.

"Yes. Of course Prince Malachi." I heard a small voice say. As the doors opened, curiosity grew inside my mind. "Prince? Wait why is a girl even in my house." I murmured then look around. Realization dawned on me that this was not my room. "No wonder my bed felt softer then usual. It isn't my bed." I continued. My gaze fell to the roses by the window. "That must be what smelled so sweet."

"Oh my gosh prince Malachi!" I heard the girl's voice once again. I looked up at the girl with questioning eyes. She had short straight hair. Black as the night. She did have beautiful eyes though. Not my type though. "How could you let me in. You are not properly dressed!" She said frantically. I raised my eyebrows at her behavior then took a look at my body. "This is considered inappropriate?" I murmured to myself and chuckled. "I am fully clothed. This is hardly inappropriate" But the girl seemed to have heard my chuckling.

"I have no idea why you are chuckling prince Malachi but my parents taught me to be virtuous. I do not want to do the deed with you. No offense." She said confidently but then fear struck in her eyes. "Please don't consider this offensive and kill my family. You are a fine specimen but..." She said. "It's okay. Am I a cruel person that would kill people just for getting rejected?" I said "Plus I have someone I like anyway."

Her eyes widened. "You have someone you like?" She said. I nodded. "Yes I do why? You aren't in love with me right?" I asked. She rigorously shook her head. "No, I too have someone I admire but... has your highness forgotten?" She replied. "Have I forgotten what?" I asked. She pursed her lips. "You are betrothed to the first princess of the air kingdom, Princess Lilianna. I thought.... you were a monogamous man but it seems you are no different from the king and second prince. Are you secretly as cruel as the second prince as well?" She replied, a little caution in her voice and eyes. "But do protect your loved one well. Your future consort is very powerful and doesn't like competition." She curtsied and gave me a smile that seemed genuine. Then her eyes widened. "Wait! I am not the person you like right? Please say no! I am not able to defend myself against this princess."

I chuckled. "First off. No, It's not you. You're beautiful but you aren't my type." I replied. "I prefer wavy. Second of I'm guessing by your statement that I'm usually not cruel. And I assure you that I am not cruel." The girl I'm assuming is my maid, considering her attire, looks at me strangely. "Are you having a fever or something? It's like you don't know yourself." She came closer. I saw a bit of concern flashing in her eyes. "Has your mother, her royal highness's, death taken this much of a tall on you?"

"I am fine. Perfectly fine." I said and took her hands off my forehead, leaning away from her touch. "Please refrain from touching me. I don't like it when girls or women I don't know touch me." She gave me a strange look. "Has her highness's death also caused you amnesia? I have been by your side for a long time." She said slightly offended. "But it is inappropriate for a man and woman to be this close. We will both be marrying soon." She backed off and placed a tray of food by my bedside. Soon I heard the sound of water and the smell of what I assumed to be roses.

"What is she doing?" I said as I drank the hot chocolate. My eyes widened when my tongue came in contact wit the liquid. "This is the most fine taste of chocolate I have had all my live." So this is what it feels like to be rich. Soon I heard a door open. "The bath is ready." I heard the girl's voice. "One you've had breakfast, go wash and get dressed." I heard the sound of her sheets. "Here are the clothes. Don't keep the others waiting Your step-mother and the second prince have never liked you. The king wanted to speak to you soon about something seemingly important." I heard her say. Then there was the sound of her foot steps getting fainter. The door then creaked upon opening and closing...

That was the most tasty breakfast I have ever had! Only... It did not have my mother's love. It seems in this world I don't have a mother either. How do I get out of here though? A thousand thoughts entered my head as I was chilling in the bath of rose water. This feels nice. Nicest bath I've had all y life too. Am I dreaming? I pinched myself. I winced. "Ouch. Okay I'm not dreaming." Then I got out and headed toward the clothes. The felt nice too. I wish I could give this luxury to my mom and Esther. Esther... I smiled as I thought off my newly found girlfriend in my previous world. I hope everything works out with her. "What if she dumps me like Amelia though?" I murmured as sad thoughts entered my mind. I sighed. No stop it...

I sighed. Great... And now I'll have a wife too. That I don't want. What Have I done to deserve this. I hope she's at least not clingy and understands my point of view. "Who have I done wrong in my life to deserve this?" I shook my head. Lily came too my mind. I frowned. No I didn't cross her. She's Christian. I'm Muslim. It wouldn't have worked out. She knows it too. Plus she's not my type. She's just the class president and I'm her assistant. Nothing more and nothing less. I shook my head. Life is hard...

"This is bullcrap!" I said. "Utter bull!"
