Chapter 3 - The Beta is enraged.

Serena awoke after sleeping for the entire morning and afternoon. Rena was lecturing her about how long it had been since she had shifted. So she spent the whole night running in the woods.

She was hungry when she awoke, so she cooked some rice and stew, one of her favorite dishes. She had salad in the refrigerator and added it to her dish. It was delicious.

She remembered as she ate how Judith teased her about her love for a salad while she was a werewolf. Judith was the kind of person who could devour a grilled chicken by herself.

Right, Judith- she called this morning!

What was that about, who is cheating with Mark? She ridiculed it. The thought alone was enough to laugh for the whole week.

What irritated her the most was Judith acting like a human. They tossed werewolves and other beasts to the ground and pled for their lives back home.

They made prior Alphas and current Alphas cover their faces just by looking at them- she was the most feared Alpha.

"Hmm," she murmured, her blood boiling, and she felt like she could smash anything if she kept thinking about the person her closest friend used to be.

She was now little more than a cousin attempting to take her husband.

She then took out her phone to check her notifications to see if anything from her office or the wolf chat had come up.

She had emailed her some images, and there it was. She has no recollection of doing so. When she accessed the chat, she saw that she had sent her those photographs.

'Rena!' She summoned her wolf.

'What?' She responded as if she couldn't care less.

'Did you send Alpha Judith these photos while I was sleeping?'

'Yep!' Rena despised Mark, and she shared her feelings, so why would she give those photographs to Judith?

'Well, he's earned it. Aren't you of the opinion that it's past time we separated the two?'

Serena had her eyes wide open. She got more than taken aback. Her wolf wasn't one for hiding and doing things. She would sign someone or a werewolf off without batting an eyelash if she felt like it.

'When the other wolves hear about this, it could raise a ruckus.' We can't allow them to have any doubts about our leadership.

Us mingling in the future and having to cope with humans, some of them have already started believing they are safe here, and some will even want to stay.

They're starting to lose hope because the Alpha isn't herself. We're the next in line, and they look up to us!'

Rena, who had lowered her head in respect after hearing about her status, was reprimanded by her.

'I'll contact her and apologize,' she offered, only to be turned down by Serena. 'No, I'll take care of it myself.'

….

She telepathically summoned her pack members to her home. Some members escaped with them, while some died, and the others decided to stay to continue the war.

They were well aware of their opponents' lethality and had already accepted that they would be dead by now.

Their foe was more than just a gang. It was teeming with werewolves, vampires, witches, descendants of Cerberus, Geryon, Empousai, Als, Goblins, Gullus, Alp, Glaistig, Aklut, Peuchen, Griffins, Gumihos, Gulons, Plakavac, and other exiled monsters from their packs and kingdoms.

Some died even before the war began, while others got burned. Some werewolves got murdered without ever seeing their assailants.

Even worse, when Judith used the fiery sword to cut through time-space and into the current timeline, several of these creatures followed her.

The good news was that everyone who refused to take the medicine Judith had given them would reincarnate.

Mark's father, aunt, and a few elders swallowed the pills. Mark, Serena, Nathan-Sage, and Judith, on the other hand, chose not to take it.

As luck would have it, before they could jump, the moon goddess put her wolf, Ezer, to sleep as she locked her memories together with her wolf.

They got reborn to such a degree that the other creatures who had jumped with them were also reborn.

It would take a while for the foes to figure out who they were and what they were doing there.

The members were already on her porch while she took a stroll down memory lane, saying, "You called us, Beta."

"Do you have any new information on our foes' whereabouts?" Serena got right to work without even saying hello.

Serena wasn't wearing any slippers and was in blue trousers and a white t-shirt. That was a habit she had picked up, or perhaps a gift she had acquired.

She could hear and feel someone approaching while her foot was naked on the floor. She could still hear footsteps if somebody had drunk the wolf bane. Not only could she feel them, but she could also tell who was approaching.

Some attendees sat on the floor, while others sat on the seats she had set aside.

"It's only the werewolves. We have no connection or soever with the others, so finding them is impossible," one of them explained. Serena knew that was going to be his answer. She was also unable to sense the others.

"But the good news is that they'll have to wait a bit to remember their prior lives," one of them hoped.

Rena, on the other hand, took over and yelled, "Except for the Alpha, who has her memories hidden away, we've all regained our memories. Don't you think they would have gotten theirs too, and maybe even met up with us?"

"We all decided to be reincarnated into families around each other before we came here. Fortunately, we arrived with Stephen, who was able to implant stories into the minds of our human parents. He also made pretty sure that when we were eighteen, we would be able to find each other.

However, they did not do so. It will be difficult for other creatures to find themselves," another member added. He had left his son in the war. They had decided they were all going to jump but unfortunately, his son had other plans. His mate was fighting- she was a warrior.

Stephen was a werewolf from the Hilltop pack; their pack had the gift to fabricate stories and implant them in people's minds, convincing them that they had occurred or were genuine. It didn't always work on werewolves, but it did on humans. Sage possessed the same ability.

"Has anyone found out what the creatures circling Judith are after?"

"Since her wolf hasn't risen yet," Judith's driver contributed, "I'm assuming they're simply after her mate."

While they were there, one member was assigned to drive her around.

"Hope? We don't have the luxury to hope!" Her eruption caused everyone to hang their heads low.

Rena calmed herself by taking a big breath. They were all frustrated, and she didn't need to point fingers or get enraged.

She dismissed them after a brief discussion and returned to her room to water her plants, one of which Ezer had given to her.
