The night has come, and as usual, by six in the evening, the guards opened the door to get the last of the triplets while leaving Beta Farkas alone. For the first time in months, Beta Farkas has lifted his head to face one of the guards who was looking at him.
He is familiar, he thought to himself. He was the Alpha's distant cousin Josiah, and then he looked to the far side of the room, and there was another distant cousin of the Alpha and one of his friends, Dilan.
"Dilan, Josiah," he called their names, causing them to stop what they were doing, and looked at Beta Farkas at the bottom of their visions, "Don't you want to greet your beloved cousin over here?"
"Why would we?" Dilan responded arrogantly to him, "We don't associate ourselves with traitors and followers of the former Alpha."
