The lady librarian – Elizabeth, was sitting before the inspector-in-charge. He said, "So, you are saying that the victim came to your quarter late at night!"
"Yes." Elizabeth nodded her head.
"What was his intention? Did you get it?"
"Well, he sat with me for few seconds. Talked very nicely with me. Then asked for the books he was reading…"
She was interrupted, "Wait. What books he was reading?"
She told the inspector the names of the books, author names and publisher names. Alphabetically.
The inspector said, "Wow, you have a very sharp memory."
"In short, these are the books on matriarchy…"
"Those books you told us yesterday in the library, right?"
"Right."
The inspector asked, "And he showed his gun for those books?" Then the inspector looked at a constable sitting beside him and said to him, "I tell you, our nation is improving. People are getting eager to get books on gun point. Thanks ma'm. Thanks for informing us. If something else happens, if the man appears before you again, just ring my number. Constable, go and drop ma'm in her quarter."
