"What the hell's wrong with Rin, I hope this was a coincidence" demanded Clarissa. Both of them seemed so agitated by Rin talking to that man. I being new in the picture was in no place to ask of even butt in, so I only looked as their faces lengthened.
"Honestly, I hope so too." Moana supported. The girls looked all gloomier just at the sight of the man in the car and Rin talking to him made things worse. We could see them talk through the transparent glass, until the car finally drove off, she even remained waving while it disappeared out of view. Rin finally joined us glowing a little bit more than she'd been before meeting the man in the car. I immediately figured this would be another trigger for the two ladies Clarissa and Moana who seemed to harbour a feud towards him.
"Rin, tell me that was a coincidence" cried Clarissa.
"Oh I swear it was, I wasn't expecting to see him here, come on don't be dramatic about it." Said Rin quite plainly and confidently, for several seconds she ranted on about the food we were going to order ignoring the glares that had suddenly landed on her, this could be a thriller blockbuster, She placed the menu down, "Okay speak" she said, turning a bit emotionless.
"Wow Rin did you just say that." Moana contended, I feared the possibility of this looming bickering turning into an ugly argument in a public space. "Ladies, calm down, why don't we order something?" I budged in just to save the day, though I knew it wasn't going to end here.
"Yeah, right, you're right, so what's the deal with him... I mean you walked in smiling as if he'd offered you a sample of the sand from heaven." said Moana, quite seriously though, that was a bit poetic and funny.
I couldn't help but laugh, even Rin released a small chuckle... "Guys can't you get over an ex, he's nothing to me after all, just the owner of Clermont club" Rin stated.
"We know all that he owns Rin, we just want him away from anyone of our family" stated Clarissa.
"Okay, but hear me out, it's just business, no strings attached, he wants me to be the bar lady at Clermont club, and maybe you guys could be his mascot." Rin gestured shrugging. Well, I didn't really know what this whole conversation was all about but the moment Rin made this announcement, I felt the air thickening. Moana and Clarissa speechlessly turned their faces towards each other and failed to even gasp; Clarissa stood up and walked out leaving the three of us sitting there awestruck, me more than the rest for being kept in the dark.
"Grow up Rin" said Moana as she also stood up and walked after Clarissa, well it was now Rin and I and I had no idea what was going on so I had no way to try and make Rin feel better. She just smiled and didn't even look shaken by the girls' way of handling the situation.
"Rin, What... just happened?"
Well I wasn't really worried about her, she didn't look like the type you should be worrying about but the other ladies though. She boldly rose from her seat.
"Let's just get out of here, Natasha"
"Uh, okay but... You haven't told me anything"
"They just don't have to be cry-babies every time they see their exes, they'll be fine."
"Their exes, what do you mean" I requested with emphasis on their exes. "His name's Mike, he dated both of them and had sex with both of them in a single night, they didn't even know, broke both their virginities in one go" she said effortlessly, that seemed to me like a heartless woman speaking.
"Oh my God Rin, Did you know about it?"
"I was the one who found out and broke them all up; hey I'm just doing business nothing more. Now I have to find him a mascot."
"Oh what does a mascot do?"
"You don't wanna be a mascot trust me, you're a church girl and you seem pretty much like a virgin."
It had been just over six weeks since I'd slept with Merlin, I was not longer a virgin and I was proud it had to be him, but with me planning my return back to Italy, there was no reason for me to correct her, and absolutely no reason for anyone of them to know me more than they did right now as the simple church girl I was but about this mascot thing, I was curious.
"Just tell me about it." I requested.
"You have to keep the rich ass men who walk into that bar happy, ... He doesn't care how." She said plainly, she was so plain about everything and I wouldn't be surprised if that messed up her relationship with the girls.
"Oh, and I can't believe you wanted your family to do that kind of thing."
"I didn't, I just wanted to piss them off, that way they'll stay away from Mike, they'll hate him more, I hate him as much but if no one keeps an eye on him, I don't know what he'd do—and I do need the money".
"Oh, I get you, why don't you consider me for his mascot; I'll keep an eye on him for you too."
"Natasha... i ain't lettin' you throw away your life baby girl, you are intelligent and you've got a future ahead of you."
"Rin, if you don't I'll do it my own way, I can help you destroy this rich ass guy as you say it."
"No one destroys Mike, it backfires seriously Natasha"
"Try me" I said with clearly fabricated fierceness. Well the only thing I had in mind was getting money, I was upset for having spent a whole month boarding busses and planes all around USA but for nothing, I couldn't even find myself an affordable place I could stay in California so it had to be Hannival. I thought I was smart enough so Rin took me to the club at night and took me to the casino section where the rich guys were sitting around a gambling table. The room was white with the smoking so I choked a bit for a second.
