A woman carried two bags as sweat drops appeared on her forehead. She struggled as she put them outside the door. She bent to take a few breaths before rushing back inside to take out what was left of her luggage. She had wavy brown hair, the warmest hazel eyes and the face of an angel who was brought down to earth to do the world good.
"Teressa come out from your room. You are going to miss your flight at this rate." her mother's voice resounded from downstairs causing her to rush back downstairs with her phone in hand.
"Mom, I have an hour left. It's not as if the airport is that far from home. It's just a thirty minutes ride and I am already at the airport. Easy and smooth." Teressa rambled on and on.
"Did you think of the fact that there might be traffic, huh?" her mother asked as a matter of fact.
"Which is why we should be moving already." Teressa rolled her eyes as she dragged her bags to the car. Mrs. Anderson entered the car and they zoomed off to the airport.
45 minutes later
Teressa and her mom entered inside the airport steadily as it was almost time for Teressa's flight. Mrs. Anderson looked at her daughter with teary eyes as she knew she wouldn't see her again but she knew it was the best for her since the memories of her dad were suffocating her even if she tried to hide it.
Her husband had died on a plane crash on his way back from a business meeting and she was the one taking care of the business now. She had to stay strong so that her family would not collapse since Teressa was her only daughter. The loud sound of the speakers broke her out of her reverie.
"All passengers going to America should start getting on now. The plane would leave in five minutes." The voice announced and Teressa knew it was time to say goodbye. She turned to her mum as she hugged her with tears in her eyes.
"Mom, I will miss you and take care of yourself. Eat well, feed well. Be alright. I will call you immediately I land." Teressa said as she withdrew from the hug. She knew it was kind of selfish that she wanted to leave her mother alone. It wasn't only her that suffered from the loss of her father but her mom stayed strong for both of them. But she had to leave here. It was suffocating for her.
"I will take care of myself without you telling me and you dare not call me when you land or I will take the first flight I can book over there" Mrs. Anderson tried to laugh through the tears.
"Bye mom and start heading back. I want to make sure you are safe before I leave." Teressa smiled and waited till she stopped seeing her mom's figure. She headed to the plane after doing all the necessary requirements.
4 hours later.....
The plane landed and Teressa walked out of the airport after checking out her luggage. She breathed in the fresh air and switched on her phone and immediately a call came in. It was April, her best friend.
"Baby girl, you've landed?" April's cute voice sounded into Teressa's ears.
"Yes, I am taking to you so obviously." Teressa said as a matter of fact.
"No need to be sassy over the phone now, do we? Anyways, how are you going to fare and don't forget your interview for work tomorrow." April said and Teressa could swear she was rolling her eyes even if she couldn't see her. And then the job part finally clicked. She had signed up for an interview as the personal assistant of a mysterious boss and the interview was the day after tomorrow. She flagged down a taxi and the driver put her bags in the trunk of the car and they went towards her location afterwards.
"I almost forgot. That's why you are my bestie, isn't it?" Teressa grinned imagining April's face right now. She had met her in high school and the girl used to be bullied a lot. She saved her once and they clicked immediately and started hanging out and became best buddies ever since.
"Anyways, are you excited to know your mysterious supposed future boss?" April asked excitedly. Mystery like things interested her.
"No. He's probably ugly. I won't be surprised if I see a pot bellied man with beards and crazy look on his face but sadly I need a job and it is literally the best company in this country so the boss must have brains and that's all that matters." Teressa said and April's loud sigh made her eyebrows twitch.
"When will you stop being boring? I mean why exactly are you like this? You want a smart, too serious boss who would work you to the moon and back? Anyways, my intuition says he will be a sexy, six packs boss maybe the serious type but still note the sexy though." April over exaggerated causing Teressa to sigh remembering how her friend read too much romance books. She was sure April was waiting for a Prince Charming from one of the books she read.
"Can you stop already? I haven't even done the interview yet or even gotten accepted. I have told you to stop reading fairytale stories. You fantasize too much." Teressa scolded causing April to frown.
"Mood spoiler. I will tell you I told you so when I find my hot, six packs prince charming. Watch and see. Anyways, I have to go, I have piles of work documents waiting for me." April said already annoyed.
"Bye. Don't work yourself to death" Teressa hung up the call. Just then the driver announced that they had arrived at her destination. She got out and the driver helped her to drop her bag at the entrance of her door. Turns out she was living in an estate. She stared at the magnificent building only she was supposed to live with one maid that her mom pestered her to have.
"This feels a little like home." she said as she used her card to open the door.
