Meanwhile, Zealous met his Alpha, Jock Gooner. Though Zealous was only a Kappa, he had a close relationship with Jock. So, he often visited him to drop any news and gossip.
"Greetings, Alpha Jock."
"Hey, Zee, come in. So, what news do you have now? Is our food supply enough until the end of the month?"
"Yes, Alpha, but we should hunt more."
Jock nodded as he laid his back on the couch. "Okay, good. If you need more Lambdas to help you, you only need to tell me."
Zee bowed and grinned. "Yes, Alpha, thank you for caring." Then he sat before Jock. "I have something I want to tell you."
"Oh? What is it?"
"It may be nothing." Zee touched his chin. "It must be nothing."
"Hey, you spark my curiosity. What is it?"
"The Lambdas finished hunting. They brought some food, but it's not the most interesting thing." Zee straightened his body and stared at Jock. "They said they saw Sophia Claude with John Matthew."
"Claude? The daughter of Gerald?"
"Yes, Alpha."
"What exactly did the Lambdas see?"
Zee scratched his neck, then laughed a little. "After I think about it now, I think it's nothing. It's silly the more I think about it."
"Spill it out!"
"They saw John hug Sophia, and she did nothing."
"Sophia Claude, I don't remember her. Is she pretty? Are they lovers?"
"Uh, Sophia is pretty, but she is just a pup."
Jock frowned after hearing that. He patted his fingers on the table next to the couch. "A pup? How old is she?"
"Maybe seven or eight."
"She is quite young to be John's lover, but we can't know for sure." Then, suddenly, Jock stood and clapped his hands. "This is it!"
"What do you think, Alpha?"
"Hmm, from what I heard about John Matthew, he is only fond of the most beautiful she-wolves. Since Sophia is pretty, he may be interested in her. Considering she is still a pup, he may use her."
"Use her?" Zee glanced at his leader. "Alpha, do you want to accuse Sophia, so we can get rid of Gerald?"
Jock grinned and nodded. "You're sharp! Yes! No matter what relationship Sophia may have with John Matthew, we can use the report from our Lambdas as a piece of evidence."
"But we're talking of a pup. So, what can a weak pup do?"
"That's why she is perfect to be a spy. No one will suspect her."
Zee touched his chin and thought for a while. "But Alpha, don't you think it's cruel to involve a pup? We can think of another way to eliminate Gerald."
"I'll give you five minutes if you can think of another trick to drag Gerald. He's a threat to my throne. I must destroy him."
"How about if we accuse Gerald as a spy from the rogues instead? He may use his daughter as the messenger, but she knows nothing about it."
"Do you like the pup, Zee?"
"No, of course not, Alpha," Zee replied fast. "It's just, well, dragging an innocent pup in our fight is cruel."
"Come on, my friend. Don't you want to be a Delta or even a Beta? I have sent our Beta away. If Gerald is no longer in our pack, I can soon appoint you as our Delta to replace him. Then, in a month or two, I can choose you as a Beta."
"Thank you, Alpha Jock. By the way, where do you send our Beta?"
"To The Crescent Nightstalkers. I could send Gerald instead, but I sent him already to another pack as a spy. So, sending our Beta to the Crescent Nightstalker is a good choice. But, as fierce rogues, I don't think The Crescent Nightstalkers will accept the peace treaty from us."
Zee wrinkled his forehead. "But if they capture our Beta, we will be weakened."
"Our Beta may be captured or killed. I don't care. But I have assigned another to kidnap the Alpha's daughter."
"What?!" Zee shook his head fast. "It'll create a war between our pack and The Crescent Nightstalkers."
"We can't know for sure. We'll use the hostage as our bargaining power. Dominick Haynes may be a beast, but his love for his daughter is famous. If he could move the moon for her daughter, I think it would be easy for him to let us get what we want."
"I see. Okay, I'll leave now, Alpha. Please take good care of your health."
"Thanks, my friend." Then Jock took a cloth purse and handed it over to Zee. "For your hard work. Keep it up, buddy."
Zee took the purse and inserted it into his pocket. "Thank you, Alpha." Then he left Jock's place.
It was dark already, but he walked fast to the gate. When the guards saw him, they nodded. The guards' rank is Epsilon. So, they are higher than Zee, but they respect each other.
"Going out, Kappa Zee?"
"Yes, I need to get some fresh air. Maybe I'll get back in an hour or two."
"Do you need any of us to accompany you?"
Zee smiled a little. "No need, but thanks for your offer."
The guards opened the gate so Zee could leave the pack. When Zee was outside the pack, he moved fast to the Highland Forest, then to The Crescent Nightstalker's area. When the rogues spotted him, Zee immediately bowed.
"I'm on an important mission to meet your Alpha. It's about his daughter."
The guards immediately approached Zee and searched for secret weapons on his body. Later, when they found nothing, they let Zee go inside. Finally, they let their Alpha know about the coming of Zee. Soon, Dominick Haynes, the ruthless Alpha rogues of The Crescent Nightstalker, met him. His dominant and fearful aura immediately filled the room.
"Greetings, Alpha Dominick."
"The guard told me you have an important thing to tell me about my daughter. What is it?"
Zee stared at Dominick, trying so hard not to tremble. "Yes, Alpha Dominick. Our Alpha planned to kidnap your daughter."
Dominick roared with laughter. Then, after three seconds, his laughter stopped, and he squinted his eyes. "Why do you tell me? You're a traitor for your pack."
"Because I know it's a bad idea. I mean to kidnap your daughter. Please spare my life, Alpha Dominick. I want to serve you in the future."
"Really? In what capacity?"
Zee bowed his head lower. "In whatever way you want."
"Why do you do this? Do you hate your Alpha?"
"No, but he isn't the best person to be our pack's leader."
Dominick said nothing for a minute. "I need you to give me any info about your pack."
"As you wish, Alpha."
"What reward do you want in exchange?"
Zee straightened his body. "Serving you is a good enough reward."
Dominick clicked his tongue. "I don't believe you. Since you place a high stake like this, you must want a high reward."
"Then, if you can give me a position as an Alpha of my pack, I'll be your servant for the rest of my life."
"Deal!"
