It was eleven p.m. when Selina went to John's place. She wore a long robe. When knocking on the door, Selina expected John to be waiting for her. Yet she needed to knock a few times before John opened the door.
"Ah, you."
"Yes, Beta John, it's me."
Selina licked her upper lip and straightened her body to make her breast look fuller. Yet, she was disappointed since John did nothing.
"Okay, please have a seat first. I have something to do." Then John left the living room.
He had forgotten about Selina completely. After marking Sophia, John's mind was full of Sophia. Her innocence and sweetness. He kept smiling when he recalled it. John even removed Sophia's handkerchief and replaced it with a bandage. Then he washed the blood stain and dried it. John carried the handkerchief in his pocket to remind him of Sophia.
Now, John was hesitant. He had agreed with Selina, but his mind didn't want her anymore. So, John sat on the couch, thinking about what he should do with the situation. Finally, after thinking for a few minutes, he opened the mind link.
'Daniel, I have a question for you.'
'Hey, John, what's up?'
'I want you to answer me honestly.'
'Sure.'
'If I give you Selina, will you take her?'
'Huh?' Daniel scratched his head. 'Why do you ask me this? Don't you like her?'
'It's a long story, but I already have a mate.'
Daniel almost fell from the bed because he was too shocked to hear that. 'What?! How? Who? When? Where?'
John chuckled, as it was funny how Daniel asked so many questions in less than a minute. 'I met her today in the Highland Forest. She is still a pup, but she is pretty. Sophia is the most gorgeous she-wolf I have ever met.'
Daniel whistled and shook his head. Afterward, he grinned and tapped his fingers on the bed. 'No wonder you fall head over heels to her.'
'No, it's not like what you thought. Sophia is a pure girl. Her kindness and innocence charm me more than the expert seduction from Selina.' John was quiet for a few seconds. 'The problem is, I have agreed with Selina to be my bedmate. While my mind is full of Sophia. I completely forgot about Selina.'
'You can visit her tomorrow and apologize.'
'She is here. I asked her to come to my place tonight.'
'Oh, shoot! So, what will you do?'
'What do you think of Selina? If I give her to you, will you take her?'
Daniel shrugged and grinned. 'I have no problem. She is pretty indeed, and I don't mind if you want to give her to me.'
'Okay. Can you come to my place now? I haven't touched her.'
"Sure.'
John let out a relieved sigh. A werewolf can have a bedmate before the marking ritual is completed. In his case, the marking has been partial from his side, while Sophia hasn't done it yet to him. So, technically, he could have Selina as his bedmate. However, his conscience couldn't afford the guilt as Sophia's smile filled his entire mind.
Daniel knocked on John's door. Selina opened the door and gasped when she saw Daniel.
"Delta Daniel, what are you doing here?"
"I can ask the same thing to you," Daniel said, pretending not to know anything. He glanced at Selina, who had already opened her robe but still wore the robe as her jacket. She was wearing sexy red lingerie inside the robe. He gulped as he could see how voluptuous Selina's breasts were.
"Well, I came here to seal my agreement with Beta John. What are you doing here?"
Daniel scratched his head. "Uh, I want to meet Beta John."
Before he could think of anything else, fortunately, John entered the living room again.
"Ah, Daniel, great!" John sat on the couch and glanced at Selina and Daniel. "Daniel, Selina, I have a situation that I need both of you to decide."
"What situation, my dear Beta?" Selina asked as she sat forward, inclining toward John.
"Today, I met with my mate. I spontaneously marked her. So, I don't think I can fulfill our agreement, Selina. I'm sorry."
"So, is that why Beta Daniel came?"
John nodded as he considered the best way he could say it. "I don't want to break our agreement, but as I haven't touched you yet, I wonder if you may want to be another's mate. What do you think?"
"I'm not a possession you can give to another when you don't want it anymore. I'm a person who has dignity and pride."
"I'm fully aware of that. However, as Daniel is my best friend and a better man than me, I want to ask something." He was quiet for a few seconds. "Do you mind if Daniel wants you as his mate?"
"Yes, I do!"
Daniel stood and walked to the door, but John called Daniel.
"Please, I haven't finished yet."
So, Daniel stood there, though his face was gloomy. "I know I'm only a Delta, and you may want him since he will be an Alpha soon."
"Indeed. Why should I be satisfied with a Delta if I can have an Alpha-to-be?"
Daniel said nothing but knew he wanted nothing to do with Selina anymore. So, he opened the mind link. 'John, I'm sorry. After what Selina said, I don't want her as my mate. I know I have said I wanted her, but I need a mate who can respect and honor me.'
John let out a sigh. 'I understand. I'm sorry I dragged you into this unpleasant case. You can leave.'
Daniel nodded and stepped to the door. "I may be only a Delta, but I will treat my mate well. John has already had his mate. You will never be his Luna." Then he left John's house.
"What Daniel said is true. Before I met my mate, I had decided that even my mate wouldn't be a Luna. A bedmate surely won't be a Luna. So, please consider your decision well."
