His parents had invited a few close friends and relatives, all of whom had brought their own children, to this large celebration. After an extremely sumptuous dinner, both age groups went their separate ways to talk.
"I am excited for the allied army academy! Imagine, for the first time in history, so many races will be studying in the same place! The competition! Ahhh, my blood boils simply even when I think about it."
A youth with a black hair exclaimed. He had what you called an extremely average build, along with a similarly average face. That one person, when put in a crowd of people, will easily disappear among them.
A young woman with long blue hair replied to the teen,
"Trust me, you wouldn't want so much competition. The pressure at the imperial academy is already tremendous; I can't even begin to imagine how much worse the situation at the allied academy would be."
The earlier black haired boy smirked at this and said,
"Senior sister, battle is the last thing I'll ever come to hate, even if I were forced to do it every day. You might hate battles since your profession lies elsewhere, but I am going to devote my entire focus to them. And yea, since you are a first tier student at imperial academy, you'll be transferred to the allied academy too, right?"
"Of course, I'll transfer as well; I can't afford to miss out on this opportunity because all the races will almost certainly contribute some of their own knowledge, and I'll be missing out on a lot if I choose to drop out of it. And, while I am tired of fighting, I do not abhor it. It's just that, at least for me, battles are an annoying waste of time."
Interrupting their talks, a teen with a red hair asked,
"Don't you guys find anything strange with the alliance? If all the races have declared peace, which, on some points, can also be called an alliance. Who are we fighting against?"
All the teens, including Clarence, fell silent when they heard his question. It was apparent that all of them were informed about the matter from their parents, but no one was given any vital information.
Clarence spoke up suddenly when the surrounding had fallen silent,
"Even if they tell us who we're up against, we're unlikely to be of assistance. It is also because of this that all races are contributing to a single academy dedicated to the development of elites. Let us just do our best."
When they heard that, the red-haired teen who had asked the question, as well as the black-haired teen and the blue-haired young woman, nodded solemnly.
"Hahaha, why are you kids being so serious about this? Just focus wholeheartedly on yourself, leave the task of planning and other details to us."
A jovial laugh broke up their solemn atmosphere, and a middle aged man with red hair approached them, followed by the parents of the other children.
"Uncle"
"Dad"
Clarence and the red haired teen greeted the man at the same time. He was the brother of Clarence's mother, Sienna, and also the current patriarch of the Winslow noble family of demons.
Unlike the current demon emperor, who is still in power due to his son, Lysander renouncing the throne. Maximus, the middle aged man with red hair, had accepted the responsibility of the noble family passed down to him, and his father, the previous patriarch, had retreated to cultivate in seclusion.
He would only come out in an emergency, such as the immediate royal meeting, which he had to attend because Maximus was on duty at the time.
Clarence approached the red haired teen to give him a bear hug and said,
"Let's meet in the allied academy. Don't slack off till then, Everett."
"Hmph, as if. I am only afraid you will lag behind."
Replying with a joking tone, the red haired teen, Everett, reciprocated the bear hug, then went to stand near his parents.
Maximus and his wife bid goodbye to everyone before teleporting out of their mansion's garden.
The same scene repeated with the black haired teen, Bernard and the blue haired young woman, Valentina.
They were both siblings, so they stood near their parents and the four teleported away soon.
Feeling the now lonely garden filled with barbeque grills, various utensils, and furniture, Clarence turned to see his parents, who were co - incidentally looking his way.
His mother asked him as he was approaching them,
"So, young man, what are your plans? You've got more than a month on your hands. Have you got any plans you'd like to share with us?"
"I haven't made up my mind yet, mom, any suggestions?"
"Despite the fact that I will be very busy soon, I still will be able to make time for you. However, it would be preferable if you spent this month studying the various professions with me. It's up to you whether you want to pursue any of them or all of them, but it's best if you learn about them so you don't get caught off guard in battle or be clueless while purchasing them."
"Alright, I'll follow you then. I am going to sleep now. Goodnight mom, Goodnight dad."
He hugged both of them and began walking towards the mansion; however, while on his way, he heard a clear *CLICK* sound, and everything which filled the garden vanished all of a sudden.
Without looking back, he shouted,
"Show off!"
To which a manly voice replied almost instantly,
"Too bad you can't! Hahaha"
Clarence almost tripped down on his way to the mansion when he heard that. Keeping calm, he resolved to shut his dad's mouth at least once.
However, as a rank nine legend, it will be extremely difficult. There are very few things which people at that level haven't seen. Legends of rank nine are those whose prowess stand at the top even among other rank nines.
They are the ones whose names are placed at the top of the leaderboards of the entire world.
