No, no I could not relax for a few days I went to bed and the next day there was a letter of invitation for a luncheon near my door turns out being a foreign prince means people naturally invite you to events.
So right now I am at a random Noble's house surrounded by diplomats, aristocracy, and government officials.
I'm not the most popular after all I hold very little power in the empire itself but many people have come to me asking for premonitions luckily whenever one asks others gang up on them pointing out how I'm too frail.
It seems coughing up blood at an imperial dinner party left an impression so right now I am just sipping some white wine and leaning on a wall.
That was when i saw Arjin unlike me people seemed to actively avoid him elves and humans don't exactly get along though elves and dwarves actively despise each other far greater.
It was still too early to leave so I walked over to Arjin and started a conversation.
"Greetings herald Arjin may I forgo the formalities as we are already acquainted?"
He put on a diplomatic smile and spoke while nodding.
"Yes indeed I much prefer casual conversation how are you finding the city? I personally don't like it very much it is all a bit too bland"
I chuckled and replied.
"Well I don't mind it I think my city is superior of course but I have been in many worse places though I suppose most cities would seem bland to you as the great greenway is a part of you home"
He looked at me with curiosity and spoke.
"You know quite a bit about elves despite being from a human country may I ask why?"
The question hit me quite hard but I quickly came up with a pretty honest reply.
"Well to be honest I don't actually know that much but my power let's me see many things and I simply piece them together to round out my knowledge I in no way know everything though"
He looked at me and nodded.
"Makes sense may I know your plan for these 'special arrows' your people are working on?"
Oh well that explains the reason why he is being so agreeable but there is no harm in telling him so I did.
"Well we are actually working on a few versions and variations including arrows that explode, let out a strong light and even an arrow that has has poison in it without having to apply it to the tip"
Arjin looked astonished and spoke.
"Wow those are all very promising ideas but it sounds like they would be hard to mass produce"
I smiled and shook my head as I spoke.
"That's because they are not meant to take the place of normal arrows they are meant to act as useful tools and as trump cards each archer might only have a single arrow of each type but they will be able to use them in new creative ways!"
Arjin close his eyes and nodded then spoke.
"I see so they would be expanding the arsenal of archers without the need for them to learn a martial art, use a magic artefact or learn air magic it sounds very promising"
Our conversation continued until the end of lunch and I said goodbye and returned to the palace that's when Oz spoke.
"That elf seemed to like you a bit too much"
I spoke back.
"Why? are you jealous?"
Oz spoke in a defensive tone.
"First of all I will never be jealous of someone who finds you of all people attractive, secondly I am basically just a bystander in my own body and lastly I'm only bringing it up since he may have ulterior motives!"
I sighed deeply and spoke.
"Yes I know that but having an ulterior motivation doesn't mean it won't be useful for us to foster a positive relationship between our peoples"
Oz spoke in a sulky tone.
"I guess you are correct also when are you going to let me control the body? it Is so boring just watching you live my life especially since you're so goody goody"
I thought for a second then spoke.
"Well I will let you take control if there is something useful you can do but considering how you self proclaimed that you have no talent other than ritual magic that probably won't be any time soon"
I heard Oz scoff in my head and he spoke back.
"Did you forget that I literally summoned a soul from a different world to this one and am still alive I am a genius the likes of which the world hasn't seen for the last millennium!"
I smiled as I thought of and said the perfect reply.
"The same genius who became a side character in his own body?"
I heard a bunch of angry mumbles but no reply so I turned my attention elsewhere there was actually still one thing left on my to do list.
The dust kingdom is still around though we have probably decimated their forces to an irreparable extent they could still pose a problem if we aren't careful like if their remaining army and a new conscription force attacked without warning.
I think I'll have to get some help to fully crush them and luckily for me I know just the place and person to ask.
the emperor himself.
