Chapter 1 - DON'T CRY HANIN

"Hanin! hurry up and sell these cookies! you've finished washing all the clothes right?" asked Dina loudly as she put the snack tray on the table.

"Just finished Mom." Hanin replied with her body still sweating and feeling tired.

"Don't be spoiled anymore Hanin, we have to work hard from now on. You know your father's wealth is running out, you won't be able to eat and go to school if you don't work." said Dina with a cold gaze.

"But Mom, have you given me savings for my school?" Hanin replied as she heard herself before her father died.

"You still deny my words Hanin? your savings have been used up for your daily needs." shouted Dina while throwing her hand to Hanin's face.

Hanin held her cheeks with tears flowing, really she was just telling the truth. Why is her mother so angry with her.

"Don't let out those useless tears! You can quickly sell these cakes until they run out, don't go home if there are still leftovers." said Dina while putting the glass hard on the table.

With a sob, Hanin took the tray.

"Haniiiin!" called Amelia who just came out of her room.

"What's up Mel?" Hanin asked while wiping the remaining tears on her cheeks.

"I'll buy you a packet of meatballs when you come home?" said Amelia in a commanding tone.

Without answering Amelia's question, Hanin lifted her selling tray. Not to mention Hanin lifted her tray a glass had already hit her chest.

"PYARRR"

Broken glass was scattered on the floor.

"What are you doing Amel? what did I do to you?" Hanin asked, holding her chest which hurt from Amelia's glass throw.

"Still asking what did you do wrong? who told you to be deaf, don't answer my words!" shouted Amelia, her eyes half wide.

"I didn't answer your question because I understand Mel." Hanin replied while holding back her tears so as not to drip again.

"PLAKK"

A slap landed again on Hanin's cheek, which had turned red from Dina's previous slap.

"I hate it when I ask no one to answer me." said Amelia while pulling Hanin's hair hard.

"Okay Mel, I won't do it again." said Hanin with tears streaming down.

"Hurry up and clean up the broken glass! and remember not to forget my order!" said Amelia in a voice full of pressure, then went into her room.

"God, give me the strength to get through this all." Hanin groaned silently while cleaning the broken glass scattered on the floor.

After finishing cleaning the floor, with a sore body, all Hanin returned to lifting up the trays to sell around the village in her village.

While rubbing her sore cheek Hanin walked to the exit. Outside the door, Hanin almost collided with Jonathan, the first child of Dina.

"You want to sell Han? it's cloudy outside, you can get caught in the rain." said Jonathan who had just come from playing soccer.

"I have to sell all these cakes Jo." Hanin answered without looking at Jonathan's face.

"Never mind! You stay at home, we'll just eat the cake alone." Jonathan said as he took over the tray that Hanin was carrying, but Hanin held it firmly.

"Don't do this again Jo, the more you defend me the more severe the punishment for me. Go, don't block me, this is my duty every day, right?" Hanin said with teary eyes.

"Hanin, are you crying again? what have they done to you?" asked Jonathan with pity.

"Nothing, I have to go now and don't get in my way anymore or I'll be mad at you." said Hanin threatening Jonathan who always defended herself every time she got insulted and tortured.

"Can I accompany Han?" Jonathan asked who couldn't bear to see Hanin's suffering. But how could he not fight his mother who had been widowed for a long time and had a hard life. Until Mr. Iswan, Hanin's father married his mother.

"No Jo, don't involve yourself with me anymore. Or do you prefer that I get punished again?" Hanin asked with a look full of wounds.

"Alright Han, hopefully the cake runs out Han? and bring this umbrella, who knows when it rains." Jonathan said giving the umbrella to Hanin with a full look at Hanin's face.

"Thank you Jo." Hanin said taking the umbrella from Jonathan then walking out of the yard without looking back.

With a sad heart and tired body, Hanin sells her cake by shouting to offer her cake.

Hanin had gone far enough to walk around her village. Only a few of the cakes are still unsold.

Arriving at a shop there are several boys who are famous for being naughty in their village.

"Hanin! come here! I want to buy your cake!" called one of the children named Sony.

Hesitantly, Hanin approached the children with a heart full of hopes that the sales would be sold out.

"Come here, bring your cake here." Sony said with a seductive smile.

Hanin was forced to enter the shop, which turned out to be empty, with no sellers.

"How much cake is left? I bought them all." Sony said as he took out fifty thousand.

"Are the cakes wrapped or are you eating them straight away?" Hanin asked fearfully.

"Take the money first, then feed us." Sony said with a naughty look.

"What do you mean?" Hanin asked with a complicated look and fear that had already enveloped her heart.

"Have you stopped selling expensive Hanin, you need this money right? Quickly feed us after that you can go." Sony said with a mocking look.

"You guys are really insane, just say that you didn't buy my cake." said Hanin while rearranging the cake and intending to lift the tray, but Sony's hand firmly held her wrist.

"You can't just leave Hanin! You have dared to reject me so you have to bear the consequences." Sony said with a glint of anger on his face.

"Let me go, let me go! I don't want anything to do with you guys!" Hanin shouted as she tried to escape from Sony's grip.
