Chapter 4 - OUR DEAL

"Alright Mr. Hasta, if possible, don't take too long, because Hanin still has schoolwork that Hanin hasn't finished doing." Dina said looking for an excuse so Hasta didn't take her too long.

"Don't worry, Mrs. Dina, it won't take long, just a moment." Hasta said with a smile.

"Come on Hanin, come with me out for a bit. We'll just walk." Hasta said looking at Hanin with full eyes.

Whether it's because of Hasta's calm gaze or Hasta's patience, Hanin gets up from her seat and follows Hasta who leaves the house and waits for her outside.

"Let's just go for a walk to the fields, okay Han?" said Hasta walking calmly with Hanin walking beside him.

"Is it true that you don't want to marry me Hanin?" asked Hasta while walking in the very cool and comfortable rice field area.

"I'm a kid sir, I'm thirteen years old. And again I still want to go to school, I don't care even if I have to work hard to earn money as long as I can continue my education." Hanin answered in a low voice.

"Come with me Hanin, I want to take care of you and protect you from your mother. Trust me, you can still continue your schooling, and you don't have to marry me. But in front of your mother, you have to say that you want to marry me. This is only the two of us who know and will be a secret for both of us. How is Hanin?" asked Hasta, who had been living alone for a long time since his wife died in an accident.

Hanin was silent for a moment thinking about what Hasta said.

"Listen Hanin, if you don't come with me. Your mother will still marry you off to someone else who doesn't necessarily mean the same to you." Hasta said in a calm voice that was able to make Hanin believe in Hasta's words.

"All right, sir, I believe in you." Hanin said in a low voice.

"Thank God Hanin, your life will not suffer anymore after this. And you can continue your schooling without having to work hard anymore." Hasta said with a happy smile, because Hanin's father's request he had fulfilled. And what actually happened before Hanin's father died, Hanin has been entrusted to Hasta and asks Hasta to marry Hanin because it was Hanin's father who caused the death of Hasta's wife.

"But right sir? Master will not marry me?" Hanin asked again to confirm Hasta's good intentions.

"Yes, Hanin, we are not getting married, we are just acting so that your mother doesn't do anything bad to you again." said Hasta who had asked his friend in town for help to make a fake marriage certificate for evidence to be given to Dina.

"Alright, I'll come with you sir." Hanin said calmly.

"Then we go back now and tell your mother that you want to marry me." Hasta said with a relieved heart because everything has gone well.

"Remember Hanin, you have to remember what to tell your mother later." Hasta said after being on the front porch of Hanin's house.

"Okay sir, I still remember what you said." Hanin said with a pounding heart not knowing how her mother would react.

"Alright, let's go in now." Hasta said opening the door slowly and was a little surprised when he saw Dina who was still sitting in her place.

"Isn't it long, Mrs. Dina?" Hasta said in a calm manner.

Dina smiled with an irritated heart.

"How did it go, Mr Hasta?" asked Dina curiously.

"Thank God, Hanin wants to marry me, isn't it Hanin?" asked Hasta with a shady look.

"Yes, ma'am, I want to marry Mr. Hasta but wait for me until my graduation arrives." Hanin replied with a little nervousness.

"Is that really Hanin?" Dina asked again in disbelief.

"After Hanin graduated, I married her in the city after that straight back to the city." Hasta said very calmly.

"It's good then, I'll come with you to the city, right, sir?" asked Dina with a full look.

"No, Mrs. Dina, only the two of us will go to town after that Hanin will stay at my house." said Hasta at length explaining to Dina.

"Why is that, Mr Hasta? Are you two not married in a big way?" asked Dina with an incomprehensible look.

"We got married directly at the religious office in Bu Dina's city, later I will show the marriage certificate for both of us, and for sure Hanin will get all the inheritance if I die." Hasta said seriously and it really surprised Hanin. Because Hanin does not know that she will get all the inheritance if Hasta dies.

"Well, if it's like that, the important thing is that Hanin's life is guaranteed after becoming Mr. Hasta's wife." Dina said with a relieved heart because she could still have the inheritance if Hasta died.

"Since Hanin has agreed, now I ask permission to go home. Next week I'm here to marry Hanin," said Hasta with a smile as he handed Dina a white envelope.

"Thank you, Mr. Hasta." Dina said with a satisfied smile.

After Hasta left the house, Dina looked back at Hanin's face.

"Hanin! Hurry up, continue your washing work after that, continue selling cakes in the next village where there is a bazaar so that your cakes are sold out." said Dina without a smile..

"Yes, ma'am." Hanin answered briefly then continued walking behind to continue washing her many clothes.

Dina smiled after Hanin disappeared behind the door. With trembling hands, Dina opened the envelope that Hasta had given her. There was a bundle of hundred thousand rupiah bills in it and it made Dina's heart very happy and laughed loudly.

"I finally got this much money! not to mention later when Hasta has died because of an illness that can no longer be cured, all his inheritance will be mine. With Hanin who I will marry Jonathan. Just wait Dina soon you will become a rich person in this village." said Dina with a laugh full of happiness and victory.
