Chapter 16 - Everyday with You part 2

My mother called me over 30 times but I never replied to her.

A few days later, an express mail came to my place. It was from my mother, so I opened it without thinking much.

It was a talisman. She had also sent me a handwritten letter.

I AM WORRIED ABOUT YOU. I'D FEEL MUCH BETTER IF YOU CARRIED THIS WITH YOU.

I didn't understand why she sent me a talisman. But since it was from her, I put it in my wallet and started off another week. That was when I noticed some fascinating changes about me. I'd be excited to stop by the reservoir after work. But when my colleagues asked if anyone wanted to have dinner together, I'd be up to eat with them.

I slowly started visiting the reservoir less and less. I gradually started getting closer with those around me and smiled more often.

I should have been more careful. Not long after the incident occurred, that day I had a lot of work.

After working overtime, I came home and fell asleep without even washing up. I was totally knocked out. Not too long after....

"Sir, wake up!"

"Are you all right?"

Someone was panicking as he shook my body. When I opened my eyes, I was surrounded my first responders.

"He's awake."

Strangely, my whole body was drenched.

"Had you been here a bit longer, it would have been really dangerous. You would have died of hypothermia."

Turns out, it was raining all night long. And I was lying next to the reservoir under the heavy rain.

'Why am I here?'

I barely managed to come to my senses thanks to the first responders.

Then suddenly.....

"Are you all right?" I saw a woman who looked pale just looking at me over one of the first responder's shoulder.

"I thought we were going to live together here."

I became more panicked. I couldn't breathe properly. She walked towards me and grabbed me violently as if she was trying to drag me back to the reservoir. I tried my best to resist.

But the first responders didn't seem to see her there. They were only focused on calming me down. I thought I would go insane or even die if I stayed there any longer.

Feeling terrified, I submitted my resignation letter to the school the next day. I hurriedly packed up and was about to leave when I eavesdropped on others.

"How many victims have there been?"

"It's that reservoir once again."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, don't you remember?"

"There was Mr. Park from before."

"And this time, it's Mr. Kim."

"They all changed after going to that reservoir."

"As if they were possessed."

At that moment, my mind went blank. In that reservoir that I was obsessed with lived a ghost that possessed men.

Had I remained there any longer, what would have happened to me?
