Chapter 18 - Seeker part 2

After removing the dust from it, I brushed her hair and placed it on the bookshelf.

"This feels weird. Shouldn't you just throw it away?"

"Why? It's pretty."

I wasn't the type who liked dolls, to begin with but I really liked that doll.

I was too exhausted when evening came and fell asleep right away.

I heard something and woke up. A woman in white was walking around. She slowly turned her head as if she noticed that I was watching her.

Then our eyes met.

"I found you!" 'HAHAHAH'

What did she find? I was afraid and couldn't think properly. But then suddenly, she stopped laughing. She looked confused. Then her face stiffened.

"It's not you."

"This is really the last time."

Then she turned around, covered her eyes with her hands and slowly counted. It was as if she was playing hide-and-seek. Ten seconds pass by in the blink of an eye. The moment she was about to turn around...

'RRINGGG'

I heard the alarm and woke up. I looked around the room while breaking out in a cold sweat. But it was dead quiet.

"That was so vivid. Was it just a nightmare?"

That's what I thought. But since that day, it felt like someone was with me even when I was home alone.

The door would suddenly creak open. Then it'd close all of a sudden. I'd feel something strange and look behind me. But no one would be there. Since these incidents kept repeating, I became more and more reluctant about being home alone.

So I called my friend over to hang out together. After chatting for a while, we went to bed late at night.

"I'll be okay since my friend is here with me."

But that was just a pipe dream.

After a while, I felt something eerie and turned my head.

"Ten, nine, eight, seven..."

The woman from before was covering her eyes once again and facing the wall. Then she said, "Here I come."

She turned toward me. She put down her hands.

I was petrified. I looked at her.

"Don't come near me!"

I desperately pleaded in my mind. But she ignored my plea and came closer. After she looked at me, she started screaming.

"Why didn't you hide?"

When I got a good look at her, I almost got a heart attack. She had a mole under her eyes. The doll I had found in the past also had a mole in the same spot. Upon realizing this, I fainted.
