Chapter 5 - Church

"Are all these tasks we will work on together, sister?" Marcia Robertson saw that points 1-7 were an everyday task she could do independently.

"Yes, all these tasks you guys worked on together. From the morning, afternoon, and afternoon routine to the specific tasks you guys have to report, all done together." sister Angela caught the anxiety in Marcia Robertson's eyes. But, his task here is to reconcile the two adult humans. Thomas saw that the two were unique personalities. So Thomas's idea to get them along was the main thing he told sister Angela.

Marcia Robertson then read the church rules found on the second page. Typical of the old church. There are some rules that they must abide by and work on. It makes Marcia reflect on her childhood when she was always active in the church. His name also indicates that his parents were devout churchgoers. So, this regulation certainly looks commonplace for him.

"Any other questions?" sister Angela asked again.

"I hope we're not in the same room," Gabriel said.

"It could be. I would love to marry you two." sister Angela is no less retaliating against Gabriel.

Angela's answer made Gabriel automatically smile. Embarrassedly to cover up his misbehavior.

Marcia Robertson herself didn't think that what Gabriel said was a joke. Marcia didn't think of Gabriel at all. The focus is only on carrying out this punishment on time and without hindrance. A bad thing could have happened, given that Gabriel had a bad temperament.

"Alright. If so, you will start from the first point of the second sheet. Please read Gabriel!" sister Angela ordered.

Gabriel opened the second sheet and then read it, "record the homeless people who are in the hall," Gabriel read calmly.

"Yes, your job is to record every homeless person who comes. Every day will be different. Therefore, do it every day. After recording, you enter the data on the computer. The computer you use is in seminary room 1. Sister Naomi will be the place you go if you have any questions. Is it clear?" sister Angela asked.

"I understand, sister," Marcia said.

"Alright. You can fix your clothes in the room. Please work."

After hearing the explanation from Sister Angela, Gabriel returned to the room, and so did Marcia. Passing through several corridors with a wooden atmosphere makes this area look more mysterious, with an area of 1.5 meters multiplied by 10 meters. Each corridor consisted of several rooms that Gabriel counted 4 in number, with a super-large Cross being a wall decoration at the end of the dead-end corridor.

In total, he passed through 3 corridors with a design that was not much different. Gabriel guessed that the doors were connected. He assumed that it was not without reason. The feeling of déjà vu attacked him.

Entering his room, Gabriel saw a single bed that could only fit one person. The bed linen is white with a grey blanket. The white walls with grey sill accents seem deliberate to add a harmonious impression. Don't forget the sign of the cross as the church's identity.

Gabriel is not an obedient human being. But, there are times when he is like breaking into another world with a thousand crosses. The heat penetrated his bones. Made his chest pinched, tightness unmoved. Even imagining it made Gabriel sit limply.

I don't understand what happened to him. Ishac, his best friend, didn't know the situation he had been in so far. Now, he is stranded in the old church led by Sister Angela. Without asking about genealogy, it seems natural if sister Angela has the knowledge and a qualified capacity as a leader.

Gabriel sighed and then lay down, staring at his bedroom ceiling. The sound of the squeaking fan also brought Gabriel's reverie.

'What's wrong with the dream, actually?' Gabriel was still trying to digest what his dream meant. A dream that always made his chest tight. The black shadow that appeared seemed to suck it slowly in the dream.

'God seems to want me to find something. Is Ishac aware that I am hiding something? Then... why was he always present after the dream came? Asked, as if I understood what happened, I lied.'

Gabriel's monologues continuously invaded her mind. It made the question in his heart even more significant. As if not wanting to stop, it was like a tidal wave rolling all the souls. Slowly and surely, Gabriel's subconscious overwhelms the body. Took Gabriel to a room full of crosses. The room looked clean now. Deja Vu... back coming. Like an old room with all the accents of old furniture. Brown in color, the smell of mahogany mixed with Pinewood filled Gabriel's smell.

Gabriel kept walking, but the room was spacious for his growing small self. "I'm shrinking..."

Faintly heard a singing voice, but Gabriel's vision was still limited. The enveloping darkness and the shrinking self made him unable to expect much other than leaning back. Gabriel realized that this situation was not good for him. He leaned back... hide... anything he didn't know. Gabriel tried to close his eyes tightly, trying to hear the faint sound that came indeterminately in direction. Gabriel fell silent and hoped that all this was a dream. Dream... this is a dream... wake me up... realize me. God.

Nok... Nok... Nok...

There was a moment of silence...

Nok... Nok... Nok...

"Gabriel... Gabriel... get up!"

"Gabriel... It's me... Marcia Robertson!"

A female voice entered Gabriel's hearing as if to be slowly. "Gabriel... Gabriel... this is Marcia Robertson!"

'Marcia Robertson... the woman I hit? Why is he in my dream?'

Gabriel was even more puzzled, and soon the singing voice was gone, changing to Marcia Robertson's voice. Gabriel came to his senses and opened his eyes.

"Hey... Gabriel. What are you doing inside." Marcia Robertson shouted.

He staggered with sweat oozing on his forehead. Ran towards the door. I opened it and subconsciously hugged Marcia Robertson tightly, so tightly that Marcia Robertson felt squeezed, out of breath. Then Gabriel decayed to the floor in a limp state.

"Gabriel... What's wrong with you? Gabriel... be sober," Marcia said, patting Gabriel's cheek lightly. But Gabriel still closed half his eyes and ignored Marcia Robertson's call.
