Seeing the inmates in this ward did make Marcia a little confused. Even though he adapts to the Canadian state system in dealing with addicts as a doctor, he still doesn't understand how the government uses its regulations. It seemed that Marcia had to put this thought aside for a moment, considering what she was dealing with now was far more critical than observing addicts.
Marcia was silent, to look and see the pale face that looked lifeless in it. The average homeless addict in this ward work as a magazine seller. There is also a drink seller. Of course, choosing the wrong path will have consequences. I can't judge unilaterally, but their involvement with heroin is the worst way to get out of trouble for a while.
Braaakkk…
"Don't move… Shut up… everyone's shut up…."
Marcia was silent while Gabriel slowly retreated to level with Marcia. Protecting Marcia was his duty. Seeing Marcia's scared face, it was very pale. It was strange when Marcia had frequent contact with criminals because of her profession. He was giddy, stiff, motionless.
"Shut up… everyone. All of you will die. We will all die."
His savage eyes looked in all directions, screaming like a man who had lost his mind. Staggered walking while holding their head. Then approached Gabriel… very close. Slightly backed off from where he stood, it didn't seem to do any good.
"You damn devil… slowly…it can kill… the agreement will… kill you… demon… you devil… go far… go…," shouted an old tramp who used to be respected by all the homeless. No one understood why the Old Man suddenly became angry, getting out of control and accusing Gabriel of being a demon?
Gabriel was bright red, his face a hint of fear. Not to the old tramp who accused him of being a devil. But the images in his head slowly appeared, making knots and unraveling. Dreams that come to him every day, like conveying a message. The message Gabriel didn't understand. Devil, is he a devil? What agreement? Slowly strange voices appeared in Gabriel's head, the song that always appeared in his dreams. A gloomy tone he didn't want to hear. Feels close and claustrophobic.
"Let's go," said Marcia, asking Gabriel to leave here for a moment until things returned to normal.
"Gabriel… let's go!" Marcia snapped at seeing Gabriel not reacting to her call.
Turning to Marcia, "Hah… yes." The answer is short. His consciousness was beginning to feel biased.
Marcia intertwined her finger with Gabriel, a gesture to come with her. She left and briefly avoided the crowd of people staring at the two of them without pause. Everyone thought what the older man said was the truth. A piercing gaze that says are your demons? What sect are you? There were clear rumors between them. ?The Eyes seemed to strip them as if they were sinners and, worse, a devil servant.
Marcia had better step aside, not wanting to cause a fuss on her first day of social work. There are still 6 days for her to work here, assisting the nuns in dealing with the homeless.
The finger was still adrift, further and further away from the great hall. Gabriel slowly woke up from his daydream. His mane began to fall over his forehead, and a messy face filled with confusion appeared. Seeing how quickly Marcia pulled herself up made a question. I don't know what happened. Gabriel felt that he had been tortured since he arrived at this church. He didn't know the truth and on what basis he got that torment. He only understood that since here, the dream was getting closer and closer to an answer. The answer that always haunted him.
"We should eat first," Marcia said while holding Gabriel's hand. Unknowingly he continued to do that until he was in the room. As if he wanted to protect Gabriel instead of protecting himself. Marcia didn't know what had happened, but since she found Gabriel in a semi-conscious state with a body full of sweat, Marcia's protective side came out. Marcia continued to help and protect Gabriel as if forgetting why they were there.
"Marcia, what happened to me just now?" Gabriel asked when they got to Gabriel's room.
"You just look confused, and your face is as pale as a peach," Marcia answered quickly. He was busy arranging food for the two of them. Marcia just wanted to finish the day smoothly and then go through it again on the second day until they finally left.
"I'm confused as to what happened. Since then, the song's tone has continuously entered my brain."
"What song? Are you sure you're not hallucinating?" asked Marcia trying to guess and get the answer to the question in her brain. However, the logical attitude of a medic seems useless to answer all the oddities going on here.
"I don't know myself."
"I don't know what your problem is. But you have to eat. After that, we finish our work."
"You are right. Let us focus."
"I guess, for today. Let me list all the homeless. Tomorrow it's your turn to record. How ?" Marcia was still trying to be careful. Gabriel is a stranger who suddenly comes into his life. If Lisa thought everything that happened was fate, then Marcia thought it was karma.
"Well. It's up to you," said Gabriel, who stared blankly at Marcia.
They ate silently, Marcia trying to see some messages on her cell phone. A consultation appointment from a patient began to enter his consul's agenda. Marcia made a message stating that during this week. She had personal needs that not be postponed. The consul appointment this week would automatically be pushed back to next week. At the same time, provide a note that the patient is welcome to cancel with prior confirmation.
Meanwhile, Gabriel was still silent and trying to digest everything that had happened to him. This dream had haunted him for a long time, and it had strangely begun to advance a little while he was here. Gabriel always memorized the sequence of his dreams. Starting with a gloomy tone, then the ringing of a bell, then the conversation of many people he did not understand. Like foam, the conversation didn't stop until he opened his eyes, constantly like that. However, while here, the dream moved. I don't know what happened. Gabriel couldn't interpret his dream.
"You're thinking about something." Marcia tried to break the silence between them.
"I'm thinking about a lot of things."
"If you want to share it." Marcia couldn't believe she had just said that. The words just came out. He was always annoyed with his attitude that always cared about other people. You want to feel selfish and don't care about the people around you. However, that trait was not that of Marcia. His profession as a doctor makes him always put others first—the interests and needs of others. So, not infrequently, for his own needs, he is buried until he forgets himself. This caring nature also leads him to disappointment. He has experienced several disappointments during his 32 years.
"I am not ready," Gabriel answered curtly. He was embarrassed by his weak state. I swear to anything, Gabriel never looked weak in front of any woman. His superior attitude did not allow him to fall in front of others. Especially a woman. This woman in front of him extended a helping hand to him; because of her profession as a doctor, Gabriel wanted to think that what Marcia was doing was just an ordinary formality.
"I won't force you. But I hope you will protect me later. I was afraid to be around it. Not demeaning, but its diverse backgrounds make me have to be wary."
"I will protect you. I promise to do that."
"Thank you."
After eating, they prepared to return to the hall. Sure enough, this time, Gabriel had started to get used to it. His face was more focused and unlike before.
Marcia stood up to clear their place to eat but was restrained by Gabriel, "Let me do it. Would you like a cold drink?" Gabriel asked, trying to be more relaxed. After all this, all they needed was to relax and just a cold bottle of soda.
"Yes, I want to. Do we still have time?"
"I think we have about 5 minutes. Enough to finish it," Gabriel replied, handing Marcia a bottle of soda. They looked out the window. The wind blew lightly and made a few strands of Marcia's hair fly over her face. On reflection, Gabriel helped to get rid of the hair and hooked it on Marcia's ear. Seemingly taken aback by Gabriel's treatment, Marcia openly turned to the handsome man Marcia recognized.
Gabriel looked at Marcia sharply. He was scanning all over Marcia's pretty face. Small sharp nose with wide round eyes as if to reach the world. Gabriel wanted to say thank you, stuck in his throat. For no reason, Gabriel leaned forward and finally felt those pink lips. Marcia's light makeup tempted Gabriel. The mysterious attitude that was present at this time made Marcia confused. The warm touch of Gabriel's thick seductive lips hypnotized Marcia. Never had she let another man kiss her like that. There is no particular reason or deep connection. Just a light movement to get rid of the hair only. Marcia swears by anything in the world. This kiss intoxicated her. Unfortunately, he stepped forward. His hands couldn't be moved to stay still, and he did not feel the firm jaw that grew a little hair.
"Hmph..."
The sound of Marcia's sigh that came out so thin made Gabriel's heart flutter. Meanwhile, Marcia felt cursed because she enjoyed Gabriel's warm and wet kiss.
They distanced themselves for a moment and then kissed each other again. Feeling weird, I don't know what demon influenced, so the soft kiss became a deep demand. The pleasure from Marcia's lips made Gabriel forget himself. Or Marcia also forgot what they were doing.
"Thank you for helping me. Twice." Gabriel said when they both felt enough to kiss.
'Damn, she's so cute.' Gabriel thought.
