Gabriel was still trying to get as much air as possible. The tightness in his chest began to lessen as he tried to calm down and remember the Yoga practice he likes to follow. Slowly but surely, the dizziness began to improve, and his breathing returned to normal. However, another loud boom and explosion appeared just as he began to breathe freely.
Baaammmm…..
Duuaarrrr….
"Sister…sister…Sister Lucia…sister Mari…," the gardener ran from the direction of the stables while screaming frantically.
Gabriel and Sister Naomi, still in shock, couldn't help but stare and stare…
"What's wrong with Sister Lucia….??" shouted Sister Naomi, who was also panicking.
"Sister Lucia is on fire…," said the gardener, staring intently at Sister Naomi.
Sister Naomi gasped. Her body fell to the ground, limp helplessly. Sister Lucia- her best friend, was gone. Sister Naomi did not understand what was happening, what Sister Lucia was doing at the final resting place of Pastor Joseph Founder, founder of the Jose Lucia Church. What happened in this ordinarily safe and peaceful Church. Yesterday the homeless incident screamed incoherent as if possessed. Now fire in the ordinarily deserted church graveyard. Not to mention Gabriel, who was found at the scene.
Not long after, the police came along with the fire brigade. Hurrying up, Marcia Marie ran over to Gabriel.
"What's the matter, Gabriel? Are you okay?" Marcia asked while touching Gabriel's pale face.
"S-t-shortness… it hurts… Marcia!" Gabriel answered while pressing his chest.
Marcia immediately listened to Gabriel's lung area while counting Gabriel's irregular heartbeat.
"Let's go to the Ambulance. You need to be resurrected. I'll accompany you, don't worry." Marcia immediately took Gabriel to the Ambulance that had just arrived, asking the officers to provide first treatment for Gabriel, who was eating a lot of smoke in his lungs. Not to mention Gabriel's slightly irregular heart rhythm made Marcia even more worried.
"I'm a doctor. I think he needs resuscitation. It seems like a lot of smoke got into his lungs." Marcia said, trying to explain to the Health Officer on duty.
The Health Officer heard all of Marcia's explanations and immediately gave action to Gabriel, who had been given an Oxygen tube as the first step. Marcia was still beside Gabriel, accompanying and making sure Gabriel's health returned to normal. Although Marcia was curious about what was happening here, she tried to hold back her question and waited for Gabriel to recover.
From where she was, Marcia saw the police and firefighters going back and forth, trying to control the situation. Luckily the fire didn't get any bigger. Marcia then saw Sister Angela and Sister Naomi interrogated by the police. Sister Naomi's gaze fell on Marcia Marie as if to say that Gabriel was here as a victim and an eyewitness.
Marcia and Sister Naomi's gazes slipped as the police tried to question Sister Naomi again. Marcia looked at Gabriel's condition from inside the Ambulance.
"Sorry, Doctor, we must take Mr. Gabriel to the hospital. The resuscitation had little effect. How's the doctor?" asked the Ambulance Officer.
"Okay! We took him to the hospital. I will explain this to the police first." Marcia immediately ran to the police, who were with Sister Angela and Naomi.
After getting approval from the police and being known by the Church Sisters, Marcia immediately ran to the Ambulance to take Gabriel to the hospital.
"Where are we, Marcia?" Gabriel whispered. It's like it's hard to talk.
"We're going to the hospital so that you won't be short of breath anymore," Marcia explained while holding Gabriel's hand tightly. "Don't worry. I'm here." For a moment, Gabriel felt grateful for hitting Marcia Marie's car.
Arriving at the hospital, Gabriel immediately went to the ER to be given quick action. Meanwhile, Marcia was waiting outside to take care of the administration.
After taking care of the administration, Marcia saw the development of Gabriel's condition, who had started to breathe easily. A little surprised that Marcia got a call from Officer Billy back after the last time he spoke at the police station when he was first detained with Gabriel.
"Yes, Sir Billy," Marcia answered back to Billy's cell phone.
"Just Billy, you can take it easy on me, Marcia."
"All right, Billy. I'm at the hospital waiting for Gabriel to wake up."
"That's what I'm going to talk to you about, Marcia. About the Church's condition is unsafe. Considering today's incident requires further investigation, your mandatory report for a week and not being allowed to leave the country during your reporting period."
"So you mean… we go back home and don't go to church anymore?" Marcia asked, summing up Billy's statement.
"Yes. I've spoken to sister Angela. They have to interrogate Gabriel. So I hope for your cooperation in solving this case."
"Fine, Billy. Gabriel and I will cooperate on this. Maybe I'll be with Gabriel for the next day. Once he wakes up and can get out of the hospital, we'll go back to living our own lives."
"I understand. In the future, I will contact you with questioning matters. I hope that you must also report this to Gabriel!"
"Of course, Billy. Thank you!"
"Okay. Good afternoon Marcia. Thank you."
"Thanks, Billy."
Marcia was relieved, although she didn't feel well for the Church. Because of this incident, she and Gabriel were automatically not allowed to enter the Church again. Marcia personally had felt used to their routine. All have impacted them so the courier would return the clothes and equipment to their room. They will undoubtedly receive more supervision during the mandatory reporting period. As witnesses of today's accidents, a case development will undoubtedly drag the brand further.
Marcia herself is still asking for more explanation about the incident. Gabriel was the first person on the scene. He was also trying to break into the room before Sister Naomi, and the gardener came to help Gabriel. At first glance, it may seem, but that's what Marcia heard when the police interrogated Sister Naomi.
Marcia headed for the treatment room to see Gabriel's condition. He promised to accompany the man. And so, after filling his stomach, he strolled towards Gabriel's room. The man's face was calm. Chest movements also look normal. As a doctor, Marcia understood that Gabriel was getting better even from a distance. But something bothered Marcia, especially if it wasn't the handsome face of the man who had kissed her.
"Damn… I'm just like a schoolboy." He thought as the trajectory of his kissing scene repeated itself in his eyelids. Made Marcia restless and held her breath for a moment. Gabriel still pictured the warm lips when he touched hers.
Subconsciously, Marcia touched Gabriel's lips. It made Gabriel, under the drug, slightly move his eyes. She surprised Marcia and immediately hid her finger behind her.
Gabriel tried to open his eyes. He just stared at the white plasterboard above him for a few seconds. His consciousness had not recovered. Her eyes still blinked slowly and then turned to her right, where Marcia was standing.
"Marcia..." Gabriel whispered.
"Yeah... it's me. You're getting better. Get some rest." Marcia's orders were a little nervous. Hopefully, Gabriel doesn't realize what he did earlier.
"Marcia... I'm thirsty."
"Wait a minute... I'll get it!"
Marcia saw how this dashing and charming man looked weak. I don't know since when Marcia rippled every time she looked into those Circassian blue eyes.
Seeing Gabriel finish a glass full of water in a few gulps made Marcia smile meaningfully. That means Gabriel has recovered, and that's the good news.
"Again?" Marcia asked when she saw that Gabriel had already drunk the contents of the glass.
"That's enough. Thank you."
They both fell silent. Gabriel lifted his head again and looked up. Meanwhile, Marcia was still staring at the dark-haired man. Instantly those Circassian blue eyes hypnotized Marcia again.
"So blue. So beautiful," Marcia monologues.
"Marcia, is it true that Sister Lucia died?" Gabriel asked suddenly.
Marcia was slightly surprised by Gabriel's question. "The truth is I don't know yet, because I was busy escaping you here. But from the news I read, huh… sister Lucia died with 80% burns." Marcia replied while looking intently into Gabriel's eyes. He sank into the sea of Circassians.
"I failed to save him. Yet my steps are close." Gabriel began to recall what had happened to him. Slowly the incident came back into his memory.
"You tried. There's no need to feel guilty."
Gabriel exhaled slowly, "Am I feeling better, Doctor?"
It was the first time Gabriel had called him by his title. It made Marcia smile. "You're getting better. Maybe tomorrow you can go back home!" he said again.
"To the house? Not the Church?" Gabriel asked, confused.
Marcia took a chair to sit closer to Gabriel's bed. She looked into those eyes again, maybe wanting to sink again.
"Officer Billy just called me. Said that we go back to our respective homes, but we are obliged to be hungry every day. Then, we can't go abroad."
"I see. I think it has something to do with what happened this morning." Gabriel's speech was flat and low, hinting at the looming horror.
"Yes, you're right. We also have to be ready at any time if we are asked to be witnesses or interrogated," Marcia explained.
"Okay. Would you like to stay at my house?" Gabriel asked, who was also confused by his question. I don't know why, but he wanted it. In front of Marcia, there was no longer any need for pretending. So, in his opinion.
Marcia was, of course, surprised by Gabriel's offer, "no thanks. I guess I should just stay where I am. Besides, I have to practice. My patient-" he hung up.
"I just wanted to make it easier for the police to find us."
"I know… but I promised Billy we'd be cooperative."
"Okay, if that's the case."
They fell silent again, lost in their thoughts. In the end, Marcia broke the silence by asking, "do you still want me to accompany you?"
"No need. I know you're tired."
"Okay. Tomorrow I'll be here again." Marcia said curtly and concisely.
Gabriel just nodded and then looked Marcia away from his eyes.
