Holly blinked a few times. She thought more profoundly and tilted her head to look at Felix in confusion.
"The King?" No matter how many times she thought about it, she still couldn't find a correlation between this incident and the King.
"You mean King Francis? He knows about you?" Holly asked again.
Felix tried to focus on the matter, but Holly's face distracted him. He turned his face to the wall so he couldn't see that cute, curious face of her.
"I'm sure he knows."
"Why are you suspect him?"
Felix sighed. He had no interest in discussing the matter with Holly. He had already prepared a lot of theories in his head. How could the King didn't know about Felix? There must be a plan from the royal side, not just about fear to the beast. Otherwise, the King would have burned Dark Forest long ago. Unfortunately, Felix had not found the answer yet.
"We should have brought the leftover cakes." Felix diverted the conversation so that Holly would stop discussing this.
Holly grunted. "I don't know you have sweet tooth, Your Majesty."
Felix nodded, his eyes fixed on Holly's face carefully. "Yes, I like sweet things," he said with a slight smile.
Holly put the glass Felix had been drinking on the table. Her gaze turned gloomy. She wanted to know something and couldn't resist asking. But she consents about Felix's condition. Was it really the right time to ask?
"Just ask me."
Holly raised her eyebrows. What did he say?
"I know you want to be asked something." There was no way Felix didn't notice Holly's curious face. She didn't stop biting her lip and looked restless.
Felix didn't really like being asked questions, especially about his plans, but he couldn't let Holly hide her curiosity.
"What exactly is your purpose for coming here? You don't just want to buy beef and eat cake, do you?"
No one knew Felix's real purpose for going to this village. He didn't tell anyone, not even Cass or Gilbert. On the other hand, they couldn't understand Felix's hidden intentions either.
However, Holly was not like those who could take orders without asking why. She needed to know everything she wanted to know. Or she wouldn't be moved with any plan.
"I'm looking for an enemy," Felix answered.
That wasn't an answer for Holly. She wanted to know more. "Why? You're not satisfied with the number of your enemies?"
Felix looked around. He knew his knights were still here, hiding like shadows. He had to lower his voice so only Holly could hear him.
"I chose Justin to replace me because he was a high knight. The strongest person after me. Humans shouldn't be able to beat him that easily. There must be a wolf involved, but I don't know for sure."
Holly held her breath. From Felix's speaking volume, she knew this must be a secret.
"A wolf helping the King?" Like always, Holly got straight to the point.
Felix shrugged. Everything was just conjecture. If Justin hadn't shown up until now, there must be someone standing in his way.
Holly was pensive. "I've met the King, and I'm surprised he has an evil plan to kill you with poison." Holly didn't expect that stupid King could have such a sinister plan.
"Stop talking about this. Now tell me about you."
Holly stood up from Felix's bed and then stepped towards the open window. They were on the second floor. From up there, she could see people passing by on the road.
"There was nothing special about me."
Holly was telling the truth. Holly's previous life was no different from a noble's daughter in general, partying, socializing, and looking for a man. There was nothing Felix needs to know.
"Then tell me about that night. When your father killed the so-called crown prince."
Holly looked surprised. Felix really asked this sensitive thing? But Felix has already told her a secret. She must give her gratitude.
"We had a banquet in the palace. I went out for a moment, and when I came back, my father was already standing in the middle of the room holding a knife and the crown prince layed on the floor, covered with blood. The next morning, they executed my father."
"Wow." That was Felix's reaction with his stoic face. He looked like he had just seen a plot twist scene in an opera, which didn't surprise him.
Holly was a little displeased. It was not easy for her to tell a story, and that was Felix's response.
"Don't you suspect? Why did your father kill the crown prince in such a crowd?"
"Of course, I did. But 'why' isn't important anymore. He obviously killed the prince and became a traitor." Holly unconsciously raised her voice.
Holly didn't care what her father's excuse was. Whatever it was, his father's rash actions had ruined her life and destroyed her family. King Francis was indeed evil, but his father was no more different.
"You need to take off your grudge from your father first. That way, you can think clearly." Felix stood up from his bed. His sick act was over.
How could Holly not hold a grudge against him? Deep down in her heart, she wanted to trust Felix that her family was destined to be King. But that doesn't change the fact that her father was a murderer.
"You know your father better, don't you? Do you think he really is that stupid?"
Felix's question struck Holly. Indeed, her father wasn't that stupid. Reloux being able to become the strongest family at that time was a clear testament to his father's intelligence.
Felix didn't want to force Holly anymore. It must have taken her some time to accept reality.
"So now the position of the crown prince is vacant? You said your father killed him?" Felix began to change the direction of the conversation to make Holly feel more comfortable.
"No. King Francis still has one more child, the second prince. He was never introduced to the public. That night when it happened, he was supposed to be introduced, but the incident made the King cancel it."
Felix's smile widened. He got a really great idea.
"So no one knows his face?"
Holly shook her head. "I never saw him."
Holly's memory flashed back to that night. True, she saw no sign of the second prince there. His whereabouts must still be hidden because the King doesn't want what happened to the crown prince to happen again.
"Because of that incident, our married plans were cancelled," Holly muttered as she watched the busy street from the window.
Felix froze. "Married? You?"
Holly looked at him innocently. "Yes. Me and the second prince."
