Lin Hao took a defensive stance with his glaive in front of the mysterious executioner that now stood in front of the party.
An aggressive and unholy aura had exploded from the man all over the prison they were now standing in, causing the three of them to feel strange. Fu Mei clutched her head, while Lin Hao began to feel different.
[A curse is filling the space around you!]
The notification aggressively manifested to the party.
The prisoners around them meanwhile did not react to what was going on.
The hope was drained from their eyes, their bodies frail and weak amongst most of them. Even those who looked healthy had bags in their eyes, and hadn't slept for days from the looks of it.
"Hmph. Only a fool would have come down here without knowing who I am. Nobodies gotten out of here alive, and that's not changing today kids." The executioner's body swirled with black and greenish colors flowing all over it.
An unholy flow coursing throughout his body, rising and sinking outwardly from his aura.
Lin Hao began to analyze the situation they were in, his intelligence stat helping with the speed of his thinking.
They were in a slightly more than narrow hallway currently. There weren't any traps in front of them to their knowledge, but their foe was large and blocking the only other way out.
Lin Hao's glaive was rather long, if the space were any narrower he would have been unable to swing it properly.
Hesitance took over him, neither of them knew how powerful this unusual man was. They would need to work carefully to take him down.
Richie then raised his voice from behind Lin Hao, full of bravado and confidence.
"Foolish Senior, you are courting death!!!" Richie dramatically exclaimed, holding several coins in between each of his fingers.
He began to fire them off all at once like a Gatling gun directly at the mysterious executioner. His coins whizzing through the air like bullets, the speed at which they traveled impressively quick.
The Coins shot through the air, a few missing their target and loudly colliding with the wall behind the Executioner.
The rest of the coins began to loudly clang against the body of the Executioner, but they inflicted little to no damage upon his body. The coins one by one bounced off of him, falling onto the ground with dents.
Richie then shouted, "Lin Hao. I can handle this guy. You just have to leave it to me!" He then stepped in front of Lin Hao, bizarrely wielding nothing in his hands at all.
Lin Hao felt uneasy with this plan of his. Richie was not a direct fighter like him, could he survive handling this strong man by himself?
"Alright, but if you can't handle this I'm getting involved." Lin Hao allowed Richie to step in front of him and confront the cultist executioner.
Richie then brandished a sudden pair of golden brass knuckles, wearing them on his hands. "Oh yeah now it's go time."
The Cultist Executioner looked at Richie with disinterest, calling back his strange aura only to his body and withdrawing it from the room around them.
"You want to do this one on one? It's your death then." The Executioner spun his axe rather smoothly, despite the size of it. It was a large metallic axe, with multiple decrepit blood stains all over the axe blade and body.
"That's where your wrong." Richie then brandished another coin, and begun his assault upon the boss in front of him. He dashed towards him, as if to attempt a forward punch with his right hand. The Executioner prepared for his attack, already ready to counter attack against him.
'What a joke.' is exactly what he thought, as his axe was prepared to swing down on Richie.
Richie however quickly jerked backwards, opening his right hand to fire a golden coin at the ground in front of him quickly instead of attacking the Executioner. The sudden movement was too fast for the boss's eyes.
In almost the blink of an eye, the golden coin bounced right off the wooden flooring and shot itself upward like a bullet.
The coin ripped straight forward into the right eye of the Executioner, tearing it out and shooting through his face.
"Augh!!!" The Executioner howled with pain, reaching his hand to the right side of his face. The sight in that eye was now gone, his eye torn up with some of the flesh there too. Richie then took a ridiculous stance once more.
"I told you. You were courting death!!!" In the midst of all of this, Fu Mei went up to Lin Hao. She was holding her crossbow at the ready, but trembling with it in her hands. "Lin Hao.. Do you think we should help him? That man is stronger than him."
Richie was not like Lin Hao in any way, but seemed to have the upper hand in the current situation.
"Let's wait and see what happens." Lin Hao said to her, it was best not to intervene for now. The hallway was too narrow, if they were all involved in the fight it could make things worse.
The executioner begun to laugh, as his axe blade began to develop a cruel glow upon itself.
"You've done it now."
