[Vereena]
My fever had subsided days after Callum had taken me to the brook, and the repulsive wild ginger tea seemed to have gradually restored my strength. I can now stand on my own, though I still get a little dizzy sometimes when I stand for too long.
I couldn't explain how things went between the captain and me. Most especially, remembering how he kissed me while I was freezing to death. Quite, literally. My mind was so fogged up that day and I thought I am going to die. I couldn't even feel my fingertips and my skin was like ice. Somehow that kiss pulled me back to my consciousness.
Also, there's one thing that happened that night at the brook. Something clicked inside of me that I couldn't put my finger on. It was so solemn with just the two of us in the moonlight. So intimate that I'd rather not share with anyone else. A pull that I couldn't resist. I don't have a name for it, but one thing I am sure of. Callum felt it too.
