"Guys, is that you?" I asked again, really hoping it is whom I think it is.
"Miss Ravenna, are you okay?" Asked Emma while she looked at me like I was looney. Not minding her, I continuously looked around hoping I would see the people I was hoping to see.
A glimmer in the air caught my attention as Emma let out a soft yelp. We both watched with different expressions on our faces as the air before us twisted and turned before morphing into five very beautiful and handsome beings.
It finally clicked in my mind the people I was calling out for. Honestly, I would have forgotten if their existence if not for their lack of a sense of self.
Wide eyed, I watched as a lady approached me.
She seemed familiar yet distant. I wonder why? If this was a comic, there would be a huge question mark at the top of my head.
The lady looked pretty with her doe eyes and small lips. Her delicate small lips and neck made her resemble a glass figurine yet her strong gaze told you that there was more to her than what meets the eye.
She had a warrior's aura but a princess's gracefulness making me wonder of her background.
"Stop staring, Ravenna. You're making her nervous." Said someone making me look behind the lady. It was a man with a beauty that could overthrow kingdoms. And that's a lot for a guy. He looked elven because according to human history (I'll explain later) elves were said to be very beautiful whether man or woman.
"Elf man" a voice whispered in the back of my mind.
Elf man, of course! These guys stopped me from jumping last time, how nice of them to drop by.
"Without them, I would probably be dead by now." I thought, lost. Truly, the imps and rooting hogs would have celebrated my death every single year for as long as they lived.
Lost in thought, I didn't realize that someone was closing in on me. A scent of the ocean in form of waves hit me and I immediately relaxed.
"Trying to pretend you don't remember us now are you, love?" Asked a guys the one from the North. No, not out North. Human North, he sounds Scottish or was it Irish?
Well, human North because Herothin is not earth. Rather it's a planet in a planet. We get to travel from Herothin to earth using portals but they are only open to advanced witches or magically able people. For my case, I don't know.
I've been reading up on as much as possible about the different realms, magical beings, magical abilities and the like since my parents never really let anyone tutor me and all my grandparents ever taught me was skills and knowledge out of this scope. As I was lost in thought, a flick to my forehead woke me up from my head space.
"Oi, getting lost in thought in the presence of us now are you, love?" Asked another guy, who looked a lot like the Scottish guy (I've decided to go with this instead). The first guy gave off a scent of the ocean while this one gave off the feeling of earth after the rain, fragrant and natural. I liked this one. This scent was quite calming and relaxing. It reminds me of how I would run in the rain with my grandparents. We would always do this whenever I would go over to visit.
Turning to him, I realized that all five had gotten closer and for some reason, I was warmed by their actions. So warmed that I got teary eyed.
"You, are you... are you crying?" Asked Mr. earth smell in a slow and careful voice, as though I would break if he spoke any louder.
"No, I'm not crying. Something's just in my eye." I replied in between sobs. I don't know why I'm so emotional right now.
"Oh, my baby is all grown up." Said the lady with a gentle aura as she enveloped me with her arms. The rest all seemed to follow her lead and hugged me as well all at once. I felt my heart warm with such acts but it made me cry even louder.
A few sobs later, they broke the hug and I still felt all stuffy and stuff. No one said a thing for a while until I was properly calm. As I was seated in the bed, I had to get up and head to the wash basin to rinse off my face. I was surprised when a warm, wet towel graced my eyes.
Following the arm, I looked up and saw it was Emma smiling at me.
"Your eyes are all swollen, Youngest miss. Wipe them with this warm towel." She said with a broad grin, like as if she wasn't very frightened a short while earlier.
I raised my hands and got the towel and wiped my eyes before looking around the room I was in. It was filled with a lot but what caught my line of sight was a bunch of books.
Seemingly following my line sight, Emma quickly explained.
"Oh, those are books sent by your grandma." She said as she ran to the pile to pick one up and brought one to me.
I received the book and found it to be rather odd. The cover was made thick and hard, like a cardboard box reinforced with concrete if you know what I mean. The intricacy of the designs on the top really had me wanting to know more about the previous owner whom I wasn't sure was my grandmother.
"That's a grimoire, lil Raven girl." Said the Northern guy. Sigh, I don't even know their names. I have to fix that.
"Oi, why did you tell her, you bumbling buffoon?! She should have stayed in the dark." Said the guy who smells like earth after a rain shower. Whoa, what is up with him?
"Go easy on her guys. She's just a child. " cries the lady with a gentle aura. Sigh, I hate being called a child. They started quarreling over I don't know what and quite frankly, this was getting on my nerves.
I listened to their anecdoche and honestly speaking it was causing me a migraine. Rubbing my temples, I sighed again. This was going to be a long day, I think.
"Should I make them stop, lady Ravenna?" Whispered Emma really close to my ears. I could smell her faint vanilla essence and also see a faint orange light shimmer around her. As I kept on staring, it became brighter making me realize just what it was. Her aura. But orange, highly unexpected.
"Yes please, Emma. That would be ok." I answered, still shocked at the revelation of her aura. Yeah, look orange up. Its meaning is a little unexpected for Emma. She simply looks too innocent.
Emma stalked off to god knows where and came back holding a round object like an inverted plate and a gong?
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
"Damn, is she loud." Says the lady with the fierce aura while rubbing her ears.
"Thank you, Emma. Now, we need to properly introduce ourselves and get to understand what or how is going on here." I said with every bit of authority I could muster.
"Wow! Did you guys feel how her aura changed for a moment there? Incredible!" Said the Northerner. Seriously, these aliases are too much for me to take. We need names!!
