Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

"Pffft. Now I see why I had to look after you. You are such a weakling! And they expect me to marry you. I don't marry weaklings!" Said a voice.

It was rather loud and cocky signifying how arrogant it's owner was. I was having a splitting headache and I felt it a hassle to open my eyes. They felt like lead. So heavy!

After sometime, I managed to get a peek through a small slit between my eyelids. I saw someone walking away and panic hit me.

"Stop!" I yelled out with what little energy I had. The strange and arrogant person stopped and turned around. I felt my vision fade away as soon as he got close to me. Slipping back into the darkness, I desperately tried to claw my way back to the light but it seems as though the I was doomed to stay in the darkness.

For the next few days or hours or minutes, I kept slipping in and out of consciousness making me very weak. I kept feeling my world rotate around, making feel dizzy even in my sleep. Sigh, what a horrible experience!

The tossing and turning plus the wind that kept biting at my skin made me so uncomfortable that I had to force my eyes open. And what a sight I awoke to!

Looking at up was looking at down and vice versa. It was like the opposite dimension from that movie, from the human realm. The trees and plants were bizarre with their weird colors and behavior like the mimosa musica.

The animals were even more bizarre with their weird characteristics that leaned more towards the spirit than the physical. For example, the small neighborhood cat would be a big and ferocious tiger with wings in these parts. It was really a beautiful place, but why was it on fast forward?

I looked around and saw trees, weird elephant like creatures and the like zipping by fast. This is when I realized that something or someone was shouting out for me to jump down. Maybe it was because of the distance but the voice sounded more of a mosquito buzzing around than a human screaming out.

Ignoring the noise, I turned my attention towards the front and the moment my line of sight connected with what I thought was a pigment of my imagination, I froze.

This was my worst nightmare come alive, literally! It/ she/ him/ they or whatever spread out it's long tentacle like limbs and tried to wrap them around me. I froze as the mosquito like sound became louder.

"Jump, you dummy. It will be your end!" It sounded out and I froze.

Focusing my gaze on the creature, I quickly compared it to the one from my dreams that plagued my sleep.

With tentacles extending out and reaching twelve in number, the creature was a cross breed between an octopus, a jaguar and a.... hare. Yes, hare. I've always feared those things and never understood why some people would say that they are cute!

Since it was a cross of wit, speed and slipperiness, I had to get off of it before I was devoured! I looked around and tried to familiarize myself with the mini terrain of the creatures back and my other surroundings.

Contrary to my expectations, it's torso was not covered in fur. Rather, it was covered in spike like those of a porcupine making me wonder if another set of animal DNA was infused in it (yes, I know of that stuff).

Also, it could be fur that was covered in slime and molded to look like spikes. Anything is possible in the world of the unknown. I looked around and I saw that nothing was solid enough for me to hold on to.

At an impasse, I decided to use the spikes for support. The mosquito voice had now become a kitten's roar but I still couldn't comprehend what words were trying to be sounded out.

Ignoring the fast moving object quickly closing in on the creature, I quickly grabbed a spike ready to start a descend so that I could jump down from a safer height. Though it had jaguar blood, it's legs were as long as those of a giraffe. Mega size that then you can understand my dilemma.

Maybe my grasp was too loose or the speed were travelling at was too fast but I managed to slip and was sent plunging to my doom confirming my thoughts. These spikes were definitely made from fur and slime.

Surprisingly, I didn't scream or fidget as I fell to me death. There was serene silence and peace that I derived from the feeling of weightlessness and a free fall.

It felt like everything in this life didn't matter and that once I reached the bottom, I would seize to mind living. I closed my eyes and accepted my fate. I was ready to welcome my fate.

A disturbance in the sound waves of the rushing wind made my eyes jolt open. I had heard a name I had not heard in a long time since my grandpa went missing.

Ravenna Hera Majestica, ruler of all.

Majestica, the name my grandpa gave me. Majestica, sounds so royal right? My grandpa always said things happen for a reason and a name is given with consequence. I asked him what he meant and he said that my name symbolized my future status.

"Future status? Yeah, right grandpa. They all hate me so how will I have a majestic future?" I had asked back then. He had only smiled and said time would tell.

Grandma had added and told me to have faith and never give up for the journey was long and I needed to have faith.

Close to the brink of death, I had a moment of enlightenment. Grandma was still waiting for me to grow up and help her find grandpa. I couldn't let her down. Instinctively, I shut my....
