In the afternoon at exactly 3 o'clock, Brandy said the appropriate time. Katty's trial took place, and the woman's face looked tense. However, Brandy still calmed the girl down so she wouldn't get tense. "Don't worry, we will definitely win in this trial."
Katty just nodded. He entrusted Brandy as Jack's trusted attorney.
Before the trial, Edward, Dominic, and Bryan were summoned to witness the kidnapping. The three young men were accompanied by the most expensive lawyer in the city.
Then there was Frans who had just found out about this case, he sat in the chair as a guest observer at the trial. Earlier, around two o'clock he got the letter from his secretary. Frans was so angry when there was a kidnapping case against him by Katty.
"Young master, what is this?" Frans showed a summons to the trial of his employer's son.
Edward frowned and then took it. He saw the letter. "This?" The young man frowned.
"Can you explain to me, young master?" asked Frans so seriously. There was no relaxed demeanor visible on his face, his tone was very angry. "What really happened and you hid it from me?"
"I can explain all of this, Uncle. You'd better sit down and listen to my explanation first!" he snapped.
Frans obeyed the young man's orders. He sat across from Edward with a sharp gaze.
"So, I went to a nightclub to relieve my stress, and I met a woman I've dated before. But--" Edward stopped his sentence. He took a deep breath, hating the disgusting scene. Events that he had never experienced before with women he had dated before Katty. "She set me up, then her men beat me until I passed out."
"That means we have to sue him! And I'll get a lawyer ready for you--"
"Uncle ... Uncle can you calm down for a moment?" he said. Frans looks panicked and like a person confused about what to do.
"How can I be calm, Young Master! Your parents entrusted your safety to me? So, your safety is my responsibility. I won't let that damn kidnapper harm you or imprison you, Young Master!" concluded Frans getting emotional.
"Uncle..." Edward woke up. "I am sorry, I--"
"You just sit there, I'll call a lawyer to defend you and put that woman in jail!" snapped Frans who was already emotional. He reached into his pants pocket, then tried to call his lawyer named Radiant. Edward only paid attention to Frans's conversation, which was so serious.
And just like this time, Edward was already sitting on the witness stand after Bryan. He was bombarded with several questions by Brandy, but Radiant defended him for every statement that didn't make sense to Brandy.
Beside Frans was Jack who had just arrived after ten minutes of the trial. He was with his sister and brother-in-law Josh. Frans didn't like the presence of the Jack brothers. Jack's smirk made Frans speculate about the meaning of that question mark smile.
"Is all this their doing?" thought Frans starting to guess. "But damn it, I have no evidence to drag them to jail!" he continued. Edward's assistant looked away. He turned his attention back to the course of Edward's trial.
"Okay Mr. Edward, I ask you one more time," Brandy walked towards the young man, then stood over Edward. "Is it true, you killed the brother of Katty?"
sigh.
Edward fell silent, his eyes bulging and jaw widening.
"Why are you silent, Mr. Edward? Is what I say true?" Brandy's words made Edward unable to speak a single word. "You beat him, beat him in groups with those two friends of yours!" point Brandy at Bryan as well as Dominic.
The young man's head lowered, "I neither abused nor killed him!" he said in a deep voice.
"You not killing him, then what is this?" Brandy showed the young man and the audience watching the trial a post-mortem and hospital statement. "The post-mortem results and the doctor's statement while being treated at the hospital. The perpetrator had beaten the victim several times with his hands and also a hard object on his chest, back, and head!"
"I object, Your Honor! This has nothing to do with the cases registered at this trial!" Radiant protests.
"Objection denied!"
Radiant frowned, he seemed irritated the judge rejected his objection several times.
Brandy smiled triumphantly. "So what's your answer, Mr. Edward?"
"My answer is still the same, don't do what your lawyers accuse you of!"
"Then, what about the results of this post-mortem? Can you explain the chronology?"
"I and my friends only threatened because of that woman's brother..." Edward pointed at Katty. "Cheating during a motorcycle race. He kicked my motorbike until my motorbike rolled over on the road!" Edward continued to explain the true incident.
"I emphasize once again, I did not hit, after threatening us then get away from the incident!" said Edward very straightforward and sure.
Brandy cleared her throat. "Do you have a proof for that?"
he looked up. Stupidly he did not perpetuate the incident as evidence when there is an incident like today. The young man shook his head wearily. Brandy smiled happily at being able to imprison Edward and free Katty.
Again, Brandy cleared her throat.
"Don't you have any other questions, Mr. Brandy?" asked the Judge.
Brandy shook her head, "That's enough, Your Honor!" he said, returning to his seat.
"I have!" Dominic shouted, breaking the silence. Bryan turned, and Edward turned to Dominic. Frans and the rest of the audience turned to the young man who was showing off his cell phone. Brandy frowned, while Katty was pale-faced with sweat dripping from her forehead.
"Officer, let the young man show the evidence!"
Dominic rushed in and gave the evidence to Edward's lawyer. He explained one by one the evidence in the form of a video that he deliberately recorded.
Radiant nodded in understanding, he borrowed Dominic's cell phone as evidence to reduce Edward, Bryan, and Dominic's sentence.
This time, it was Katy who came forward to be questioned as the perpetrator of the kidnapping. Alternate position. Now, Radiant would be the one to bombard the girl with questions that would incriminate her.
sigh.
sigh.
sigh.
An unusual beating heart. His face was white, you could see his nervous gestures. His legs were shaking as he stepped into the middle seat at the trial.
