Alex had a lot on his mind as he stepped out of the elevator and briskly made his way to his office. One of the things on his mind was Vanessa.
Why couldn't she afford to pay her rent? If her sister was a scholarship student that meant she didn't have to worry about tuition, so where did all the money she got from her previous jobs go? And why did she keep changing jobs? He remembered the way her disposition had changed when he brought it up the last time in the middle of their argument.
Even though he knew it shouldn't be his business, he couldn't help his curiosity over it. Perhaps it was because she was living under his roof temporarily and he needed to be sure about the person living with him.
He made a mental note to check her file again, and try to find out from her previous employers the reason of it. He wanted to know it was just about her inability to control her sassy mouth and temper, or if it was more than that.
