Alexis' POV
I tapped my feet impatiently on the floor of the cab as I stared out the window, hoping the car could move faster and drop me off at my parents' home.
When my mom informed me of my child's condition, I couldn't sleep properly that night. The fear of losing the one thing my first love left me hovered in my mind. That little girl was my world, and I wasn't sure I could continue living if she should leave me. I'd booked the next available flight to Boston, where my parents lived. Luckily for me, I'd gotten a ticket for a plane that was leaving that morning and in the next two hours, I was already in Boston.
