Alexis' POV
As soon as I heard Chloe's approaching footsteps, my heart dropped, and I squeezed my eyes shut, knowing my secret was going to be exposed and there was nothing I could do about it because Quinn was holding onto me so tightly that I couldn't even move.
I shouldn't have let him into the house. I'd been lost in my sleepy haze, thinking it may have been Harper and Iris that forgot something on their way for their morning run. I didn't think of the fact that my roommates shouldn't be ringing the doorbell but as soon as I saw Quinn by the door, my sleep was immediately cleared, my mistake glaring hard at me. Now he was in, and he wouldn't leave.
"Mommy," Chloe's little voice infiltrated my thoughts, and my heart that had stopped working suddenly slammed hard against my chest, my mouth popping open as my eyes snapped open, staring into Quinn's blue orbs but his eyes weren't on me.
