Chapter 4 - Chapter 3 At the Kingdom

Chapter 3

"I'm excited to hear about Ulysses' mother," Shanise said.

"Come on. Tell us the next mother," Renchen and Layin requested too.

"Okay then keep quiet now. So I could go on next," their mother ordered.

They both shut up their mouth for the next chapter that they are wanting to hear. Their mother started on the part where Ulysses is fixing the car of his client.

"Sir it's done. Your car now is in good condition," Ulysses said politely to the owner.

Ulysses hurriedly arranged his belongings. He will go home earlier than before. It seemed that he can hear the humming sound in his mind. And that someone pulled up his ears.

"Thank you. Thank you. I want you to do the fixing. Your work and services are really good," his client said.

He said welcome too in return and smiled at his client who always give him a little extra pay for his service. The client was his regular customer ever since. That only trusted him to do repairs. The payment has already been handed to him. He is ready to go but unexpectedly another car came. The owner begged him to troubleshoot and fix it. Promised to double the price of his service in return. Ulysses doesn't demand too much. He doesn't like it as long as his service is badly needed it's enough for him to grant and be paid according to how much is his service rate. Ulysses is a good troubleshooter and a mechanic man. He grew up in a car repair shop, so being a mechanic is his one chosen preoccupation. It's eleven o'clock in the evening and he's going home. The last car was repaired rush so it took that long. Usually, he was at home as early as nine o'clock in the evening. He avoids passing late at night to the old ballet tree. Ever since he saw a beautiful woman in the spring water. He thinks that there is indeed a mystery in the spring according to the stories of the old people in their place.

He drives slowly under the ballet tree. The cold air breeze hit his skin and the humming sound automatically plays in his ears.

Seems like he's just wandering around the place. He gets nowhere in driving and he can't leave the area. He was still at the spring nearby.

"Is there have fairies here," he whispered to himself.

Ulysses was a bit afraid to go down and he just didn't pay attention to the cowardness he felt too. As a man, he didn't want to be overwhelmed by fear. He was there in a beautiful garden overlooking the castle in the distance.

How did I get here? What is happening..?" he asked himself.

He never stopped walking until he reached the castle. It was just a dream he thought while he was in the aisle of the flowery garden.

"Where am I?" Ulysses asked the front guard.

"Here you are in our kingdom, Lord."

It was a polite answer and the tone is different. Ulysses went inside and was amazed. There were fun and dancing women. They were all beautiful. One by one he observed their likeness. They are not women who look like the women he usually sees.

"That is maybe they were fairies."

He looked around in amazement. And wondered how he could get away from the place.

"Where is the way home," he keeps on asking himself.

Sitting alone made him more curious about what is happening around him. A fairy come closer and said

"You can dance with me, if you just want,"

The smile is sweet as honey.

"I don't know how to dance." he lied.

Even though he knows dancing. How could he dance with people he doesn't know who is with him? He is a total stranger to all who are inside the hall.

But it was as if there is a magnet that pulled him to stand up and dance with the fairy. The fairy is very beautiful and has long hair. She was the woman he saw at the spring water no one else but Princess Dana. The night never seemed to end for all those present in the hall. It is late at night but the dancing fairies are still not tired. There are ready meals that are delicious to eat. It was prepared on the buffer like a presentation on the table. He became hungry. His stomach needed something to have.

"Do you want to taste or not just a taste but we can have our dinner." Princess Dana offered him to eat.

"No, I'm full. I could not eat anymore. I have eaten heavy dinner."

Ulysses replied talking likes he was thrilled and scared. Foods are like moving live worms. In the design of fish boats, it is placed. He remembered the story of his grandfather Andres when he was little. That when the earthlings go to the world of fairies and taste their food they will remain in that kingdom. They can never go home ever. Or can never return to the earth of humans. Whether his grandfather Andres' story is true or not, it's not bad to believe. He had to believe in that case happening because the whole presumption of the human story was there in him.

Until the dear King comes. The sight circled everyone in the hall. And got to stared at f Ulysses got too big he asked angrily.

"Who is he that comes from the earth? Who brought him here," the King asked angrily.

But even before the king could turn his anger, Princess Dana and he had already disappeared. Using the power of her magic he brought Ulysses to the spring.

"Who are you in that kingdom?" Ulysses asked.

He was confused by what had happened and by the strong magic he had witnessed.

"I'm Princess Dana, the fairy you also saw here in this spring water. And I am a princess on our kingdom."

He had already recognized its likeness. The truth reveals and he is also interested more in Princess Dana.

But why are you showing me and what is your purpose behind it?" he continued the question.

"Your heart will also know the answer when the day comes." Princess Dana answered mysteriously. She can't say that he like the earthling man in her front.

Ulysses no longer understood what Princess Dana had said. And it seemed that the princess never let him know yet what is in the end.

"Can I go home now? My mother is worried for sure, please." Ulysses begged."

Just turn your clothes upside down," Princess Dana commanded.

Ulysses' eyes widened at what she was going to do. He would just turn her clothes upside down. body but in front of Princess Dana.

"Can you just leave me here? So I could easily turn my clothes upside down." He scratched his head as he spoke.

"As long as I don't see you safely away from this place. I can't take my eyes off you." Princess Dana explained.

Ulysses did it shamelessly so that he could go home. Although it's not convincing it's also the only thing he can do next. He has already heard it from his grandfather Andres who said to turn the clothes on the body when you are in a fairyland. Though wasn't sure if he had torn his shirt right, as long as he

"There is a world other than the world of people," he whispered.

It was as if he was delivered in the blink of an eye. He was already at the side of the road next to his car and there he could see the old ballet tree. He js L

looking at Princess Dana that smiled at him. Ulysses waved to say goodbye. He quickly get inside and started the engine immediately.

"Son, why you come this night? Have you eaten dinner?" her mother asked.

Ulysses quickly looked at the clock on the wall just like before. It seemed like the length of his time in the castle is too long than hours in the world of humans. It was only two hours that he spent there in the castle. But it seems like it was a whole night long. Overthinking is killing him. He got too tired of asking why it happened and what has happened to him in the past hours ago.

"Yes, mother I ate dinner. I just fixed a car that can't be opened, mother," he replied to his mother. He needs to say a lie than be someone like a fool telling about fairies.

"Why are you all wearing that shirt and pants upside down."

Her mother pointed to his top and bottom worn clothes. Smiling at the look he has.

"Is this it," he smiled back at his look.

Ulysses quickly left in front of his mother and went to the room to change it. The mother was left wondering what has her son happening.
