It was the first day of training. The fagal trainers of each brigade woke all youngsters too early at four.
Brushing their noses due to mist air, they all got ready waiting up in queue for the restroom, with swelled up eyes and red noses.
Parents of the infringers felt anticipated at their homes, who were informed about the training, as anything could happen in the middle.
While a six line queue reduced in numbers one by one, a muscular man entered the redoubt in a rush.
The presence of a high rank trainer caused havoc among the boys, as they felt frightful to learn his visit.
" Silence!!!"...
The man groaned in his deep voice, that dominated the clamorous area.
" Who is Edmund ? I need him to get ready and join me within ten minutes. Send him in first", the man ordered in a bit scary tone and walked out of the redoubt roughly.
The boys looked at each other, who understood nothing on what happened minutes ago.
The senior trainees looked at Edmund with raised brows, asking him to enter the restroom with no words in anger.
" Don't worry, Edmund! It's nothing! Move in first and get ready", Orlen whispered in his ears, cheering him up pressing his shoulders.
With nervous legs edmund walked up front, while the rest of trainees stared at him angrily for messing up the queue.
It was only the footsteps of Edmund that echoed the long corridor, while everybody was out there at restrooms fighting against each other, on who to bath first.
Edmund noticed the muscular man waiting for him at a very long distance, which made him put a pause for a second.
" Out of all, why am I the only one to be called out? I'm ready to deal with anything unless its about my father", Edmund lamented and walked upfront determined, ready to face anything.
"Fine stature, determined walk, brisk shoulders and those almond eyes full of fire. I think he could set up high goals like his father but not the path he took. Let me see if he could beat up the ones from Hepton", the muscular man thought to himself, on the sight of Edmund walking towards him.
Soon he was taken out of the redoubt on the way to the fort, that took them quarter an hour to reach it.
While the first and second fort knowns as Primo and Central were used for public events, the last one at the right was used only by authorised combatants.
It was considered illegal to enter Santo, which was considered a sacred place for the nobles present at Bleakville.
While the Chief Comabatant stayed at Santo, there were numerous rumours about the last fort, which people had believe too.
Former leaders of Hepton who had jealousy on the growing strength of Bleakville, spread bad thoughts about it, trying to plant venomous thoughts on peoples mind.
They badmouthed Santo to be a hiding place, where Petulans indulged activities that infringed the rules of the Canon. They accused them for storing valuable goods at santo, which was purely a false comment, which petulans knew.
The man took Edmund straight to the entrance of Santo, where the door looked totally huge made of teak wood.
While entering the fort, Edmund got reminded of his Trainers words. Scizian already instructed the do's and don'ts to the youngsters of petulando, which made Edmund hesitate for a moment.
" But, Sir! I don't think I can enter it. Not anyone can enter Santo. I don't wanna get punished heremore", Edmund requested the man, who gazed at him wickedly.
The man smirked at Edmund and dragged him to the other side of the fort.
" We're not taking the front way. The man we need to meet is at the top", said he, who raised his hands and pointed it to the top of the building, which was eight or night foot above the ground.
Holding Edmund's arm in his one hand, the man entered a vaccum hydraulic lift, a mechanism they used for centuries.
The cylindrical lift was closed on all sides by thick glasses, which had brownish top and bottom, made of alloy.
The lift travelled in medium speed, making Edmund get amazed by the view of the fort, every minute they went up.
" Mr. Hekqard is waiting for you! Walk straight and take the first left. You should only take the reddish door, with roman letter VI on it.", the man instructed and went down the elevator, closing his face using the top of his brown turtle neck.
Edmund was left alone in the long corridor, with dull lights at the corner. More than anything, Edmund felt attracted to the place, which looked lavish and aesthetic.
From the walls to the doodles on it, kind of conveyed some messages to the visitors, illustrated using white quilt ink.
The floor he walked was made of opaque marble, that showcased the happenings beneath the floor.
Every step he walked upfront, a glowing light followed him from the floor which he wasn't clear about at first.
Later when he noticed, the sight of white flame flies below the floor, made him speechless due to their admiring catenating ability.
Like the man instructed, Edmund took the first left and got a sight at an odd door, that seemed reddish while the rest were brown.
KOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK..
He hit the knob thrice, as soon as his eyes met with the roman letter VI.
" A young boy is here, Master! He seems average... well, the boy who can't use magic", the parrot caged near the door, spoke in a horrible tone, after which the door vast opened.
The ending words of the parrot kind of killed the pride of Edmund, the truth Edmund hated to let people know.
" It's you who can't use magic, not me!", Edmund yelled at the bird and tossed the door heavily.
Edmund encountered a man showing his back to him inside the room, who seemed to enjoy the beauty of nature at the open window.
" Excuse me!", when he said, the man turned over to him immediately, who was Mr. Hekqard, said as per the muscular man.
Edmund ran close to the villow without his knowlege, as he seemed thrilled to meet someone unknown for some reasons.
Scizian's face looked quite perplexed, where his words too stuttered every now and then.
After few minutes of talking this and that, Mr. Scizian came to the point for which Edmund was taken to Santo secretly.
" Look Mr. Zelano! You have to listen carefully on what I'm about to tell you. I've taken you here to Santo, not to honour but to give you a sharp warning. So far, infringers are getting ready as per the instructions from the Potrayal of Gallio. I don't think we should purely rely on that. From what I heard, senior combatants got no good impression at your particular brigade. Its a worry to know that they are planning something huge behind our back..."
