On Endor, magic comes from a force within called Ponji. All living beings possess Ponji within themselves, but despite having Ponji within them, not all beings are able to utilize them.
People who use Ponji are called Hokai
How one is able to determine if they are Hokai is simple.
They must fill a glass of water and put a leaf inside the cup.
With the cup now full of water with the leaf inside, whoever is trying to determine if they are Hokai or not must put their hands beside the cup not touching, and try to focus Ponji energy into the cup.
If the person is able to move the leaf inside of the cup without touching the cup they can use Ponji.
To use Ponji at its full capabilities one must utilize the 3 Ponji principles known as Conji(Contact),(Fonji(Flow), Ronji(Release)
Cojin: is when the first part of mastering Ponji. Conji is the element of embracing the energy around you. Thus being able to allow the energy to flow into your body.
Fonji: is the second step to mastering Ponji. Fonji means Flow and this is done by moving the Ponji throughout your body maintaining flow.
Ronji: is the last step to mastering Ponji. Ronji means Release, and this is done by expelling Ponji out of your body.
By mastering all three principles you can become a Great Hokai. However, there is a negative to using Ponji. Those who do not have large Ponji nodes will fatigue at a quicker rate. Ponji nodes are located in the pit of a Ponji Users stomach. Ponji nodes can be grown and made larger by training Ponji and surpassing limits.
Ponji is a very powerful, mysterious substance. It can be manipulated into water, fire, or light. To manipulate Ponji into natural elements or unique forms, a person must find "Ponji Qualities" that suit them. Ponji can change in infinite ways. Controlling Ponji is like interrupting the role of god, so it was considered to be very dangerous.
There are two ways to control Ponji: control through an item or direct control. Generally speaking, when one says "manipulating Ponji", it usually refers to direct control.
Being able to directly control Ponji is a very rare talent and it can be said that this talent itself is a requirement for becoming a good Hokai. Most, if not all, Hokai have some degree of control over Ponji, although this does not mean all Hokai can become skillful manipulators of Ponji. While some Hokai are very specialized in direct control, everyone must learn how to control Ponji, fight successfully, or use it to strengthen their bodies and enhance physical abilities.
Types of Ponji
Pure or Natural Ponji: Ponji manipulated by certain individuals will directly appear in the form of liquid water (which is said to be the purest form of Ponji).
Ponji Weapons
Ponji weapons are items forged and marked with Ponji energy. These weapons can be used by anyone. But the weapons have specific traits of their own.
