Chereads / Seduced By My Rogue Mate / Chapter 30 - Acting strange

Chapter 30 - Acting strange

"You sure it does?" He stood from the dining chair and walked close to me.

I didn't take a step back. I stood my ground as I watched him approach. I showed no fear whatsoever.

"Yes, it does. It gives me the creeps whenever you say words like that."

" And you are still standing?" He quirked a brow, "you are saying my words repulses you," he trailed a finger down my arm. "But you are still standing there, calling for a punishment."

"I'm not calling for anything. Why will you talk of punishment, when I've done nothing wrong?" I fold my arms.

" Oh, you did something wrong. But I'll forget about it if you sit on my lap to have your meal."

He leaned closer, and I thought he was about to kiss me, but he withdrew instantly.

I had to bite my lower lip before it exposes me, by sighing. Fern's actions right now frustrated me to no end.

It made me want to tug my hair in anger, and bash it on a wall.

"Let's eat, before the meal gets cold." He sat back on the chair he was sitting on and patted his thighs.

"And if I don't sit on it?" I raise a challenging brow.

"You know, it calls for some punishments." He smirked, "it's your call, darling. It's either you choose to be punished or not."

I bite my lower lip before I decided to sit on his thighs.

After all, this is only going to be a once in day stuff. Sitting on his thighs won't take anything off my life span.

Fern fed me, and I dutifully ate them all. The meal I prepared might not be all that great, but it's better than yesterday's.

"It was delicious. Thanks for the meal." He smiled at me when I stood up to take the plates to the sink.

"You are welcome."

"How was your day with the pack?" He asked a question I wasn't expecting to hear, at least not for today.

"They told you?" I widen my eyes in disbelief.

"You seem to have to forgo everything about the pack bond?"

"Wait a minute, rogues share the same bond?" I blink in surprise.

"You think you guys are the only ones who share the bond?"

" I thought—"

" I'm a werewolf, just like you. The only difference between us is the name. We are wolves who decided we don't like the patterns we were being treated. We don't like following through with a trend and all that.

That was why we got ourselves separated from the pack. We are the same Mek."

"I guess it's true."

When I came here, I was expecting to find a pack filled with chaos, gore, and blood. I never did expect to find one that's like this. The organization of his pack made them seem like a normal werewolf pack.

Aside from their peculiar scent, there's nothing to show they are not Werewolves. They act and behave like us. They follow a particular Werewolf law.

"But in some aspects, we are not the same." He stood from the chair he was sitting on and walked toward me.

"Where are you going?"

"I want to help you with the dishes? You don't want my help? It's okay." He turned to leave.

" You can help."

"Okay. "

He washed, them while I rinsed and dried them.

We look like a normal couple.

My stupid mind seems to come to the realization.

Shut up!

I hissed at it.

How can you think of something like that at a time like this?

"We are having a run tomorrow night, during the full moon. Do you what to join us?" He asked, making me turn to him in surprise.

Truthfully, I wasn't expecting a question like this. Not now, and certainly, not ever.

"You are having a run as a pack, and you asked me to join you?" I asked to be certain I processed the words he spoke.

" Is there anything wrong with that?"

" No, nothing at all." I place the last plate on the rack.

"You would rather not run with us? You think our rogue blood will taint your pure Alpha blood?" He asked in a clipped tone.

"Don't be silly." I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at him. "I was surprised you asked. I never expected you to ask that of me, but you did.

You don't know how happy I am about it."

It's been a long since I had a run-in my werewolf form. Racing with them is like a dream come true for my wolf.

" Oh," he looked down, embarrassed at how snappy he was minutes ago when he thought I was looking down at his pack. "I apologize for snapping at you."

"It's alright. You don't have to feel bad about anything."

"But—"

" Had I been in your shoes, I would have thought the same." I washed my hand in the sink and dried them with a hand towel. "Goodnight."

" Why are you in such a hurry to leave?"

" What else I'm I to do here?"

Had this been back in my pack, I wouldn't have retired this early. Kel and I normally take a run through the creek at the back of the pack.

The creek is one we share with the Furry fanged pack.

"What do you do at night before you go to sleep? Tell me, and we'll do that."

"Someone doesn't seem eager to sleep tonight." I raised a brow at him.

"Tell me what it is, and we'll do it."

"I run through the forest with Kel. He's always the one who forces me to—"

"I changed my mind. I think I'll retire early." He dropped the towel he was drying his palm with.

"What's wrong? I thought we are taking a race through the forest?"

"I changed my mind. You can go ahead to your bedroom. I need to rest." He said before hurrying out of the kitchen, and I'm left to wonder about the reason for his change of mind.
