"So, how were my plans? Did it work?" Jyn wiggled her brows.
"It did work." I smile at her, "he stormed out angry."
"Oh, I can scent in the air. Someone is going to have some, very soon."
"I doubt that."
Mek might be acting like a jealous mate, but I don't think he sexually sees me. He might just be jealous of the fact I happen to speak with a female while I should have spent time with him.
"What do you mean by that?" She frowned at me.
"What if he feels jealous I'm drifting away?"
"Stop thinking that way. I know the eyes of a jealous friend and that of a lover. He doesn't look at you like one does a friend.
There's always fire in his eyes when he looks at you."
"You think so?"
"I don't think so. I believe so. Give him some time, and he'll be the one coming to you. You don't need to doubt my words." She made to touch my face.
"What are you doing?" I whisper shouts, in alarm.
"Be still, he's watching." She reprimands me.
"He's watching?" I discreetly turn to look back at my house, and he sure was standing in the same position he stood in yesterday.
My mate was looking down at me, through the window.
Knowing his there, and watching, made me excited. My wolf might not be supporting Jyn's plans, but that doesn't mean I'm not.
If this can get me the mate I want, I don't care about it.
"You think he's jealous?" I lightly touched her hair. My touch was so light, that I hardly doubt she felt it at all.
It must seem like air to her.
"Of course, he is." She laughed as if the words she spoke are funny, and I joined her. Only sobering up when she did so.
"Do you have another plan after this?" I look, intently, at my master planner. She alone knows what plan to take, and when to do so.
"Should this not rouse him to action, we canβ" she excitedly stood up, "take me to your house."
"Why?" I frown at her.
Somehow, it doesn't feel okay to take her to our home.
"Let's step up our games. Staying out here all day, he might start unsuspecting something, and not only that, but taking me to your house will tell him how serious we are."
"I don't think it is a good idea." I frantically shook my head, "he might not come into the sitting room for days if your scent permeates the entire place."
"Do you want to get him, or not?"
"I do." I look down, "but I'm having double minds about this."
There's a high possibility Mek might hate me should I bring her back.
As much as I will love to do anything, to get my mate to love me, I don't want his anger on me.
"Let's go. If this doesn't work, don't enlist my help."
I thought about her words for a while, "let's go." I turned and started walking back to our house.
"That's not how this will work." She stopped me, "we need to act like people who are in love."
"But we are not in love," I frown at her.
She smacked my head,
"We are not in love, but we are pretending to be in love. There is a great, notable difference between them."
"I don't get this."
"Goddess," she looked up with an exasperated expression, "why am I paired with someone like this?"
"I'm your Alpha, don't you dare forget that?"
"Of course, I won't." She rolled her eyes at me, before she linked our elbows, "now, we are ready to go."
Together, Jyn and I, walked back to the house, conversing as we went.
"I've missed the delicious curry rice you love to cook. You will have to cook it for me." She pouts, "I've missed your cooking." She placed her head on my shoulders, as she tightly clutched me.
All in all, we look like a couple, taking a stroll under the sun.
"In your dreams."
"Why? Won't you cook for your girlfriend?"
"Girlfriend my foot. You need to go out there and find a mate for yourself. You are not getting any younger."
"Why should I search for a mate when having someone as handsome as you are, as my boyfriend?"
"The pack doesn't need more females. What we need are capable males that can fight for us."
Talking about a fight, I need to inform my pack of the new Alpha I'm targeting. It has been long since we conquered lands. We will do so before the arrival of the full moon.
"As if. Try me, Fern, and I will show you the power of a female."
"You know, should we engage in combat, you can never defeat me."
"But I will give you a scratch. Wrrrgh," she exposed her sharp claws.
"Keep it down, will you?" I cover her face with my palm.
"What are you doing?" She struggled against my hand, but wasn't victorious.
"What do you think I'm doing?"
I led her into the house, with my palm still covering her face. She fought against my hold, but wasn't productive.
I only released her when we entered the house.
"I'll get back at you, Fern. I promise you this." She said with venom in her tone.
"And you think I'm afraid of β"
"You are ba β" Mek's eyes landed on Jyn, "why did you bring her back here?" He narrowed a glare at her.
"Oh my," Jyn dramatically placed her palm on her chest, "why are you asking such a harsh question?"
"Mek β"
Jyn tightly dug her claws into my arm.
"Why shouldn't I visit my boyfriend's house?" She smiled brightly, "don't worry, we won't make unnecessary noise unless we get in the mood." She winked at Mek, who looks ready to kill.
"Boyfriend?" He turned to me in question.
"Oh, he hasn't told you?" She dramatically gasped, "oh, my. He must have forgotten."
