Chapter 29 - Powerful Old Seven, Mysterious Director

The matter was soon solved and Sara was instructed to guide the second envoy to their quarters. The envoy was to remain under house arrest until their departure.

Aria was walking beside Old Seven as they were headed towards the Hospital to look for Dron and Jasmine.

"Won't there be any issues?" He inquired, after all even though he may seem young, the Integration of Knowledge from Athenaeum had increased his intelligence.

"What do you mean?" Old Seven asked, feigning ignorance.

"Considering that person's racial characteristics and the way Lieutenant General Sara addressed him, he seemed to be someone crucial." Aria explained his hypothesis.

"Interesting, you really did pay attention to the details. Not bad." Old Seven praised as he continued, "As for the issue, don't worry. We can handle such small matters."

Aria nodded and shifted his attention towards the previous attack from Old Seven.

"Do you have any further questions?" Sensing something bothering him, Old Seven asked.

"Ah yes! That attack from before, it seemed a bit different from the one that you used on me previously." Aria exposed Old Seven as he asked.

-Cough-

Old Seven coughed slightly to hide his embarrassment.

"What I used with you was an innate suppressive force exuded from our training method, Wheel of Chakra, such suppression is mainly targeted towards the human body. If you were some spy then your body would have collapsed from the pressure whereas your consciousness would have been forced out, killing you." Old Seven explained freely, not bothering to hide the fact.

"The attack earlier?" Aria asked, still puzzled with some thoughts.

"The Wheel of Chakra is a way to harmonize our human body with the vital energy present in the Universe. In a way it is a technique that enables us humans to connect with the Universe and twist its rules. The more proficient you become with the Wheel of Chakra, the more you are able to twist the rules. Unless a person is capable enough to negate our connection with the Universe, any human can do the same." Old Seven explained in an easier manner.

'Athenaeum certainly warned me about the Universal laws being changed. How can someone that powerful exist on this planet? What is exactly happening? Adding on with the earlier suppression that did not work on me? What is the actual history of the Human race?'

A series of thoughts floated in Aria's mind, sensing the confused expression on his face, Old Seven sighed.

"Don't think too much. You just need to quietly train and get stronger. As you grow more proficient with the Wheel of Chakra you shall perceive everything yourself. As for other matters, let the old ones handle them. After all, we are still alive and kicking." Old Seven lightly patted Aria's shoulder as he said.

Aria felt the shoulders of Old Seven had become strong enough to take upon the weight of the entire sky.

Just like that the duo reached the gates of the Hospital. For some reason Aria hadn't seen any huge buildings in the uppermost ring. There were just houses or single storied buildings everywhere. There was also hardly any person visible on the streets which seemed more like alleys.

"This is the uppermost ring of the Academy. There are hardly a handful of people that have access to the facilities here. As for the officers and staff, there isn't a need for them, so they are hardly stationed here. Most of them arrive here and then move to the lower rings once their task is completed." Old Seven disclosed the details of the ring.

The Hospital too was constructed on a small piece of land with multiple square shaped houses laid in a particular pattern. The entire piece of land was surrounded by walls and colored in a shade of red and white crosses.

Entering the Hospital premises, the duo proceeded towards one of the buildings. The doors automatically opened and the duo entered. The scene in front of Aria was very different from the outside.

There were at least five human sized capsule like structures placed in the room with multiple tubes connected to them covered in a patch of white. Currently two of the capsules had their doors closed as they hummed a little.

"Director!" Old Seven greeted as he looked at the other old man in front of him, seated on a chair reading a book whose covers were made of leather.

The old man turned around and faced Old Seven as he nodded.

"How's their status?" Old Seven asked as he gazed at the strings of data being emitted at the transparent panels in front of him but he couldn't understand anything.

"Not good, Marshal." The Director replied as he proceeded further, " Although it may seem like a shock, their minds are totally unreactive to stimulus and there are also multiple hair-line fractures. Coupled with the muscle strain, their situation is definitely not good."

Aria's face turned grim at such an answer. Old Seven sighed in defeat and looked at the director once again.

"Jeez, Director, I know you care about every life in an equal way and even a small injury is severe to you. Just tell me how much time they need to get their treatment done." Old Seven said as he tried to lessen the worry for Aria.

"They should be all good as before by dinner time." The director replied as he buried himself in the book that he was holding as he was seated on the chair.

"Don't scare the children like that!" Old Seven reprimanded the director.

-Thud-

The book in the director's hand was shut tightly and he proceeded to glare at Aria, his gaze seeming to be scanning his body.

"Is this your disciple Marshal? I must say his constitution is really great!" The director said as he was feeling proud of himself.

"Why are you so proud? He is my disciple, not yours!" Old Seven retorted, not bothering to answer Aria about how the director was able to gauge his body's constitution with just a gaze.
